Duran issued one walk in a scoreless inning against the Mets on Friday. He struck out two and picked up a save.

Duran worked around a leadoff walk to close out the 5-2 win on just 14 pitches. He's converted two straight save chances after blowing one against Cleveland on Aug. 30. Duran is up to 25 saves with a 2.56 ERA and a 77:21 K:BB through 56.1 frames.

Cox will undergo tests on his left knee following his departure from Friday's game against the Blue Jays, Joel Goldberg of Bally Sports Kansas City reports.

Cox tumbled over in serious pain in the seventh inning after he got hit by an Alejandro Kirk comebacker and took several awkward-looking steps while rushing to cover first base. The 26-year-old reliever damaged his left knee somewhere along the way and could be in danger of missing the remainder of the 2023 campaign.

Fairbanks picked up the save in Friday's 7-4 win over the Mariners. He allowed no hits and one walk while striking out three over a scoreless inning.

Fairbanks looked solid while securing Tampa Bay's 86th win of the season. The 29-year-old has dominated since the All-Star break with a 15.3 K/9. He is 2-2 with 11 saves and a 3.15 ERA in 20 innings during that span.

Weaver will serve as the Mariners' bulk reliever Saturday against the Rays, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Seattle will use several different pitchers during the game, but Weaver should be able to offer 60-plus pitches at some point. The 30-year-old right-hander has primarily been a multi-inning bullpen arm for the Mariners since they signed him to a major-league deal in late August, but he threw 70 pitches in a spot start last week versus the Athletics.

Cox left Friday's game against the Blue Jays with an apparent leg injury, Jaylon T. Thompson of The Kansas City Star reports.

Making a relief appearance in the bottom of the seventh inning, Cox was struck by an Alejandro Kirk comebacker and went down in pain as he tried to cover first base. He was unable to walk off the field without assistance, suggesting the injury could be season-ending, but Cox's status should become clearer after he's sent for testing.

Bautista (elbow) played catch for the second time Friday, Danielle Allentuck of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

There has been some caginess around Bautista's elbow injury -- initial word was that it involved his ulnar collateral ligament -- but he seems to be making progress and hasn't been ruled out for a return this year. "We're going to see how he feels," Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said after Friday's workout. "We are just kind of monitoring it day-to-day." Yennier Cano (two) and Shintaro Fujinami and Danny Coulombe (one each) have gotten the saves so far in September for the O's.

Colorado selected Vodnik's contract from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday.

The 23-year-old was acquired from Atlanta in late July for Pierce Johnson and will get his first taste of the majors as the Rockies look ahead to 2024 and beyond. Vodnik has a 3.35 ERA and 69:31 K:BB through 53.2 innings this season between Double-A and Triple-A.

Chavez (shin) threw another round of live batting practice Friday, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

That could be the final step before he is cleared to begin a minor-league rehab assignment. Chavez has been out since mid-June because of a microfracture in his left shin, but he looks poised to return to Atlanta's bullpen for the closing weeks of the regular season. He'd registered a 1.55 ERA and 36:9 K:BB in 29 innings prior to the lengthy IL stint.

Yarbrough will pitch for the Dodgers on Sunday against the Nationals, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Yarbrough will either work behind an opener as a bulk reliever or make a traditional start, but regardless, he's slated to handle a good chunk of the innings for Los Angeles. The 31-year-old left-hander has an impressive 2.82 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 19:1 K:BB in 22.1 frames of long relief since being acquired from the Royals at the trade deadline.

Almonte (knee) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Tuesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

It'll be his first mound session since he went on the injured list Aug. 12 due to a right knee sprain. Almonte still has a lot of hurdles to clear, but he could be a bullpen option for the Dodgers before the end of the 2023 regular season.
