  • Braydon Fisher RP | TOR

Blue Jays' Braydon Fisher: Opening Wednesday's contest

Fisher will serve as Toronto's opening pitcher during Wednesday's game against the Mets, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Fisher has been successful while working as an opener this season, striking out seven batters and walking four while tossing 5.2 scoreless innings across his five starts. He'll now draw his sixth opening assignment and is likely to exit the game after pitching an inning or two. Spencer Miles and Patrick Corbin will both be available out of the bullpen to cover multiple innings once Fisher's day is done.

  • Devin Williams RP | NYM

Mets' Devin Williams: Collects 12th save

Williams earned the save in Tuesday's 3-0 win over the Blue Jays, allowing one hit without recording a walk or strikeout in a scoreless ninth inning.

Williams was summoned to finish a team shutout for the Mets and worked around a two-out single to do so. It capped a strong June for the 31-year-old, who yielded just one earned run over nine outings while converting all four of his save chances. For the year, he's 12-for-13 in save opportunities with a 4.13 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 41:16 K:BB across 28.1 innings.

  • Royals' Connor Seabold: Exits with lat tightness

Seabold was removed from Tuesday's game against the Rays with right lat tightness.

Seabold was injured after attempting to pick off a runner at first base in the fifth inning. It's unknown whether his injury will cause him to spend time on the injured list, but the Royals may refrain from using him out of the bullpen for at least a day or two while he recovers.

  • Josh Simpson RP | SEA

Mariners' Josh Simpson: Returns to Tacoma

The Mariners optioned Simpson to Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.

Simpson will head back to the minors after coughing up one run on two hits and a walk in just two-thirds of an inning during his lone appearance Sunday. Cole Wilcox was recalled from Tacoma to fill the open bullpen spot.

  • Cole Wilcox RP | SEA

Mariners' Cole Wilcox: Back in big leagues

The Mariners recalled Wilcox from Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.

Wilcox was sent down to Triple-A in early May and has since turned in a 5.03 ERA and 1.30 WHIP alongside a 24:6 K:BB over 19.2 innings. Despite his subpar performance, he'll return to the big leagues to replace Josh Simpson and add a fresh arm to the Mariners' bullpen.

  • Tanner Gordon RP | COL

Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Returns from IL

The Rockies reinstated Gordon (hip) from the injured list ahead of his start Tuesday against the Marlins.

Gordon has been on the shelf since June 5 due to a hip impingement, but he'll now return to the Rockies' rotation after throwing four shutout innings during his lone rehab outing at Triple-A Albuquerque last Wednesday. He threw just 38 pitches during his minor-league appearance, so he could be subjected to a workload restriction during his first start back in the majors. Sean Sullivan was optioned to Albuquerque in a corresponding move.

  • Dodgers' Jonathan Hernandez: Booted from 40-man

The Dodgers designated Hernandez for assignment Tuesday.

Hernandez will lose his place on both the 26-man and 40-man rosters after turning in an 8.15 ERA and 1.75 WHIP alongside a 15:12 K:BB through 17.2 innings with the Dodgers. Wyatt Mills was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move.

  • Wyatt Mills RP | WAS

Dodgers' Wyatt Mills: Up from OKC

The Dodgers recalled Mills from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday.

Mills owns a 2.64 ERA and 1.19 WHIP through 30.2 innings at Triple-A Oklahoma City, and he'll now return to the Dodgers to give the big club a fresh bullpen arm, replacing Jonathan Hernandez.

  • Zach Brzykcy RP | MIA

Marlins' Zach Brzykcy: Rejoins big club

The Marlins recalled Brzykcy from Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday.

The right-hander was optioned to Jacksonville on Friday but will quickly return to the big leagues since Anthony Bender (shin) was placed on the injured list. Bryzkcy hasn't pitched in the majors this season across his two short stints with the Marlins. He has a 3.86 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 32:19 K:BB across 30.1 innings at Triple-A.

  • Anthony Bender RP | MIA

Marlins' Anthony Bender: Placed on injured list

The Marlins placed Bender on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with a right shin stress reaction.

Bender has given up just one earned run while punching out 16 batters in 10.2 innings this month, but the Marlins will now be without his services through the All-Star break following his move to the injured list. Zach Brzykcy will come up from Triple-A to fill the opening in Miami's bullpen; meanwhile, Michael Petersen, John King and Calvin Faucher are likely to receive an uptick in high-leverage opportunities.
