Luke Little RP | CHC
Cubs' Luke Little: Strikes out four in return to MLB
Little allowed an unearned run on a hit and two walks across two innings of relief in a 7-0 loss to the Brewers in the first game of Monday's doubleheader. He struck out four.
Making his first appearance in the majors since April 16, Little held his own and exhibited good swing-and-miss stuff. The big southpaw has struggled with command during his time with the Cubs, but if he can find the strike zone more consistently, he could emerge as a useful reliever due to his hard fastball from the left side. For now, Little figures to work in a low-leverage role while he's at the MLB level.

Gavin Hollowell RP | CHC
Cubs' Gavin Hollowell: Struggles with command Monday
Hollowell allowed four runs on three hits and four walks across two innings of relief in a 7-0 loss to the Brewers in the first game of Monday's doubleheader. He struck out two.
Hollowell simply couldn't find the strike zone consistently, as he threw just 21 of his 45 pitches for strikes. The righty also uncorked a wild pitch in the rough outing as the Cubs let him take one on the chin to save bullpen arms for the second game Monday. Hollowell was called up to the majors earlier in the day to serve as the team's 27th man, and after the poor performance, he'll likely return to Triple-A Iowa in the near future.

Robinson Pina RP | TOR
Blue Jays' Robinson Pina: Shelved at Triple-A
Triple-A Buffalo placed Pina on its 7-day injured list Aug. 6 due to an unspecified injury.
After Toronto optioned him to Triple-A on July 21, Pina made three appearances for Buffalo before being shelved with the injury. The right-hander is without a clear timeline to return from the 7-day IL.

Justin Slaten RP | BOS
Red Sox's Justin Slaten: Sent out on rehab assignment
Slaten (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Worcester on Tuesday, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.
Slaten had been scheduled to throw a live batting practice session Monday. However, he's feeling good enough that the Red Sox have opted to have him skip that session in order to send him out on a rehab assignment right away. Slaten has been shelved since early June with right shoulder inflammation, so he'll likely need multiple appearances in the minors before making his return to the Boston bullpen.

Ryan Walker RP | SF
Giants' Ryan Walker: Back from paternity leave
The Giants activated Walker (personal) from the paternity list Monday.
Walker missed the Giants' weekend series against the Rays as he welcomed a new baby to the family, but he'll rejoin the club ahead of its series opener in San Diego on Monday. He'll fill a setup role out of the San Francisco bullpen.

Bailey Horn RP | DET
Tigers' Bailey Horn: Dispatched to Triple-A
The Tigers optioned Horn to Triple-A Toledo on Monday.
Horn will cede his spot on the 26-man active roster and in the bullpen to right-hander Alex Lange (lat), who was reinstated from the 60-day injured list. After being called up from Triple-A on Thursday, Horn made a pair of appearances during his time with Detroit, striking out three over 3.1 scoreless innings.

Alex Lange RP | DET
Tigers' Alex Lange: Ready for 2025 debut
The Tigers reinstated Lange (lat) from the 60-day injured list Monday.
Lange will return to the Detroit bullpen for the first time since May 2024, after facing a long road back from the right lat surgery he underwent last July. The right-handed reliever has experienced a couple setbacks this season and had been pulled off a rehab assignment shortly before the All-Star break, but he returned to action for Triple-A Toledo on July 20 and allowed just one earned run in 6.2 innings over his final seven appearances to earn himself another opportunity with the big club. The Tigers opened up a spot in the bullpen and on the 26-man active roster for Lange by optioning left-hander Bailey Horn to Triple-A.

Tayler Scott RP | HOU
Astros' Tayler Scott: Back in big-league bullpen
The Astros selected Scott's contract from Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday.
Scott holds a 6.66 ERA in 25.2 innings at the major-league level between stops with the Astros and Diamondbacks this season, but he'll get another chance with Houston after allowing six runs with an 11:7 K:BB over 11 frames at Sugar Land. The righty will likely be used in low-leverage spots.
-
Jordan Weems RP | HOU
Astros' Jordan Weems: DFA'd by Astros
The Astros designated Weems for assignment Monday.
Weems will lose his spot on the 40-man roster after he coughed up five runs while retiring only one batter in his relief appearance during Sunday's 12-0 loss to the Orioles. Houston selected the contract of right-hander Tayler Scott from Triple-A Sugar Land to replace Weems in the bullpen.

The White Sox Sox" data-type="SPORTS_OBJECT_TEAM" data-league-abbreviation="MLB" data-team-abbreviation="CHW">White Sox recalled White from Triple-A Charlotte on Monday.
White has made a couple relief appearances this season for the White Sox but has spent most of 2025 in the Charlotte rotation, holding a 4.93 ERA and 56:38 K:BB over 69.1 innings. He will give the bullpen a fresh arm ahead of Monday's series opener in Atlanta.
