The Mets optioned Jay to Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday.

The 30-year-old had his contract selected by New York on Sunday and appeared in Monday's matchup with the Nationals, allowing four runs (three earned) in two-thirds of an inning. Jay will return to Syracuse, where he has a 2.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 23:4 K:BB across 36 frames this year.

Harvey (2-4) took the loss Monday against the Mets, surrendering five runs (four earned) on three hits over two-thirds of an inning as the Nationals fell 9-7 in 10 innings.

The final frame was a disaster for Harvey and the Nats -- after the right-hander hit Harrison Bader with a pitch, J.D. Martinez crushed a splitter over the heart of the plate for a three-run shot before extra-base hits by Tyrone Taylor and Francisco Alvarez chased Harvey from the game. The normally reliable set-up man has been tagged for eight earned runs in his last four appearances, and his ERA has more than doubled over the last month, going from 2.08 after an appearance June 2 to 4.24 following Monday's outing.

Diekman (2-2) picked up the win Monday as the Mets downed the Nationals 9-7 in 10 innings, throwing a scoreless ninth without a walk or strikeout.

The lefty made a throwing error to lead off the inning, putting James Wood at second base, but Diekman was able to prevent the Nats from walking it off before the Mets erupted for six runs in the top of the 10th. Diekman has seen a heavy workload since the beginning of June and his numbers have suffered -- through 7.2 innings over his last 12 appearances, he's stumbled to a 5.87 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 4:6 K:BB, but he does have a win, two saves and two holds during that time.

Roupp was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Monday, per MLB's transaction log.

Roupp was hit hard for three runs on three hits and two walks while striking out two over 2.2 innings Sunday against the Dodgers, and his performance has resulted in a demotion. The club has yet to make a corresponding move.

Wilson did not factor into the decision in Monday's 8-7 loss to the Rockies, allowing five runs on seven hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out three.

After pitching to a 5.19 ERA across 26 innings in June, Wilson continued his run of poor performance in Coors Field. The Milwaukee right-hander allowed five or more runs for the third time in his last five appearances. He now sports a 4.27 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and a 62:28 K:BB over 78 innings this season. Things aren't going to get easier for Wilson, as he's currently scheduled to make his next outing versus the Dodgers in Los Angeles. It is currently unknown whether he will follow an opener again.

Garrett earned the save in Monday's 9-7 win over the Nationals. He faced two batters, allowing one hit and striking out one.

With Edwin Diaz still out due to suspension, Garrett entered with a three-run lead and two outs in the 10th inning. The previous reliever, Tyler Jay, left runners on first and second to clean up. After allowing a run-scoring single to Keibert Ruiz, Garrett punched out Luis Garcia to bring New York back to .500. Diaz is eligible to return from suspension July 6, but until that time, Garrett looks to be the favorite for saves in the Mets' bullpen.

An MRI on Koenig's left elbow showed swelling but no structural damage, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Koenig will remain sidelined through the All-Star break, but he looks to have avoided a major injury. The left-hander has been a revelation out of the Brewers' bullpen in 2024, collecting a 1.66 ERA and 36:11 K:BB over 38 innings.

Triple-A Memphis placed Thompson on its 7-day injured list Monday with an unspecified injury.

Since the Cardinals sent him back to Triple-A in late April, Thompson has filled a spot in the Memphis rotation, compiling a 4.17 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 54:35 K:BB in 45.1 innings. Though finding strike zone has been a consistent problem for Thompson throughout his professional career, an injury could be at the root of why he was more wild than usual in his most recent Triple-A start Friday, when he walked six batters over three innings. Thompson is without a clear timeline for a return from the IL.

Roupp worked 2.2 innings out of the bullpen in Sunday's 10-4 win over the Dodgers, giving up three earned runs on three hits and two walks while striking out three.

Heading into Sunday, Roupp had been residing on Triple-A Sacramento's 7-day injured list, but he had made three rehab appearances in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League. Rather than having him slot back into the Sacramento rotation Sunday, the Giants instead called him up from the minors to provide a fresh arm in the bullpen. Roupp ended up piggybacking starter Spencer Bivens, who tossed five innings of one-run ball before leaving the game. With the rotation having been hit hard by injuries lately, the Giants could have two openings during the upcoming week, but Bivens pitched well enough to earn one of those spots. Roupp could be an option for the other spot if Kyle Harrison (ankle) isn't ready to return from the 15-day injured list by the weekend.

Wilson will be used as a bulk reliever in Monday's game versus the Rockies, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

The Brewers often use an opener ahead of Wilson, and Monday will be no different with reliever Rob Zastryzny slated to take the ball first. Wilson tossed six shutout frames in bulk relief his last time out Tuesday, picking up a win against the Rangers.
