Nationals' Kyle Finnegan: Earns save Sunday
Finnegan issued a walk in a scoreless inning during Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader against Colorado. He struck out one and earned a save.
Finnegan threw just seven of 15 pitches for strikes but held on to the 3-2 lead for his eighth save of the year. He's converted a save in each of his last eight appearances and has not blown a chance this season. Finnegan owns a strong 1.86 ERA with a 12:6 K:BB through 9.2 innings.

Tanner Scott RP | LAD
Dodgers' Tanner Scott: Completes shutout of Texas
Scott allowed one hit in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Sunday's 1-0 win over the Rangers.
Scott put away the Rangers for his second save of the series and finished off a five-inning scoreless relief effort by the Dodgers bullpen. He's now worked seven straight scoreless innings and is tied for second in baseball with eight saves.

Shelby Miller RP | CHC
Diamondbacks' Shelby Miller: Blows save, earns win
Miller (2-0) yielded one unearned run on one hit over two innings and picked up a win during Sunday's extra-innings contest against the Cubs. He struck out two batters and was charged with a blown save.
Miller tossed a perfect ninth inning to push the game to extras but allowed the ghost runner to score on a Nico Hoerner single in the 10th. Arizona took the lead back in the 11th inning, paving the way for Miller to earn his second win. He's now tossed 10 innings without allowing an earned run this season but has not recorded a save.

Drey Jameson RP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Drey Jameson: Picks up first save
Jameson earned a save with a scoreless inning during Sunday's extra-innings win over the Cubs.
Jameson was promoted from Triple-A Reno on Saturday and secured a save in his season debut with the Diamondbacks. It was his first MLB appearance since July 6, 2023 after missing the entire 2024 campaign while recovering from Tommy John surgery. Jameson likely won't see many save opportunities out of Arizona's bullpen, but with A.J. Puk (elbow) and Kevin Ginkel (shoulder) both currently on the shelf, the right-hander could work his way into a high-leverage role.

Jose Suarez SP | SEA
Braves' Jose Suarez: Dropped from 40-man roster
Suarez was designated for assignment by Atlanta on Sunday.
Suarez will now be placed on waivers by Atlanta after producing a 2.45 ERA and 1.36 WHIP with five strikeouts over 7.1 innings in three appearances out of the bullpen. If he clears waivers, he'll either be outrighted to Triple-A Gwinnett or released by the team, or he could elect free agency. The transaction makes room for Scott Blewett on Atlanta's 40-man roster after the team traded to get Blewett from the Orioles on Sunday.

Scott Blewett RP | STL
Braves' Scott Blewett: Dealt to Atlanta
The Orioles traded Blewett to Atlanta in exchange for cash considerations Sunday.
Blewett was designated for assignment by Baltimore on Saturday, and he'll now look to carve out a role with Atlanta. The right-hander has appeared in four games with the Twins and Orioles in 2025, giving up one run on nine hits and a walk while striking out 11 batters over nine innings. Blewett is out of minor-league options, so he'll report directly to Atlanta's 26-man roster.

Jordan Wicks SP | CHC
Cubs' Jordan Wicks: Takes loss Sunday
Wicks (0-1) allowed two unearned runs on three hits across two innings of work to take the loss Sunday against the Diamondbacks. He struck out two.
Wicks worked the 10th and 11th innings in an eventual 3-2 defeat, and he allowed an unearned run in each inning to ultimately take his first loss of the season. The lefty was just recalled from Triple-A Iowa on Friday, and he's now allowed five runs (three earned) across two appearances. Wicks figures to work as a low-leverage arm for the Cubs until further notice.

Randy Wynne RP | CIN
Reds' Randy Wynne: Bags three-inning save
Wynne picked up the save in Sunday's 24-2 win over Baltimore, allowing one run on three hits and one walk over three innings. He struck out three.
The 32-year-old right-hander was called up Sunday as Carson Spiers (shoulder) was placed on the injured list and secured a save in his season debut. Wynne had pitched to a 3.06 ERA across 17.2 innings at Triple-A before his call-up. He is not expected to be serve a significant role in the Cincinnati bullpen going forward.

Brent Suter RP | LAA
Reds' Brent Suter: Fills in admirably against Orioles
Suter took a no-decision Sunday at Baltimore. He struck out one over three scoreless innings while yielding three hits and no walks.
The veteran southpaw was called upon to sub in for Carson Spiers (shoulder), who hit the injured list before this game. Suter was solid, generating six whiffs out of his 63 total pitches. With this effort, the 35-year-old now sports a 1.86 ERA and 0.83 WHIP across 9.2 innings. Suter probably will not make another start, as Nick Lodolo (personal) should return soon to fill the empty rotation spot.

Steven Matz SP | TB
Cardinals' Steven Matz: Start being skipped
Matz's turn through the rotation will be skipped for the upcoming series against Atlanta, which begins Monday, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.
The left-hander made his first start of the season last Wednesday and was expected to operate as St. Louis' No. 6 starter going forward, but the club will temporarily move him back to the bullpen due to Thursday's team off day. Matz is expected to re-enter the rotation next weekend versus Milwaukee, and he's likely to get at least a couple turns since the Cardinals have a stretch of 13 straight games from April 25 to May 7.
