Brewers have discussed Jimmy Nelson promotion
The Brewers have discussed promoting pitcher Jimmy Nelson from Triple-A, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.
Manager Ron Roenicke said "there has been discussion" about a callup, but did not elaborate. Nelson has a 1.46 ERA over 111 innings in the minors this season.

Aroldis Chapman works out of jam for save
Reds closer Aroldis Chapman put the tying runs on base Tuesday, but worked out of the jam to close out a 4-2 win over the Cubs.
Chapman allowed a leadoff single to Junior Lake, and then put the tying run on base in the form of Mike Olt, who walked. He struck out Ryan Sweeney to end the threat, however, his second strikeout of the inning.
Chapman is now 18 for 20 in save opportunities for the season, and he lowered his ERA to 2.45 in 25 2/3 innings.

Mets pitcher Carlos Torres told the New York Daily News his hand is a bit sore after he was hit by a line drive Monday, but he expects to be available out of the bullpen for Tuesday's game against the Braves, if needed.

Pirates relief pitcher Justin Wilson served up a walkoff two-run home run to Matt Adams in the ninth inning against the Cardinals to drop to 2-1 on the year.
Wilson was charged with two runs on one hit and one walk over one-third of an inning. He owns a 4.91 ERA and a 1.36 WHIP over 33 innings of relief this season. -

Mets reliever Carlos Torres underwent X-rays on his injured hand, which came back negative, according to the New York Daily News.
Torres pitched the final two innings without allowing a run en route to his fourth win of the season. He owns a 2.98 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP over 57 1/3 innings of relief this season. His status remains uncertain moving forward. -

Report: Joe Kelly to start for Cardinals on Friday
Cardinals right-hander Joe Kelly will make his long-awaited return for the Cardinals on Friday against Milwaukee, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch has reported.
The news is a bit of a surprise in that it marks an early comeback for Kelly, who was believed to be set for one more minor league rehab outing after pitching Sunday for Triple-A Memphis.
Kelly has been out since mid-April with a severe hamstring injury.

Joe Kelly impressive in Sunday rehab start
Cardinals right-hander Joe Kelly provided a promising performance in a rehab start Sunday for Triple-A Memphis. He is scheduled for one more minor league outing before returning from a hamstring injury that has prevented him from pitching in a major league game for nearly three months.
Kelly pitched four shutout innings in his latest start before yielding a run in the fifth. He threw 51 of 72 pitches for strikes.
