Mets manager Terry Collins said reliever Carlos Torres will handle the closer's role Tuesday, as regular closer Jeurys Familia will be unavailable.

Familia has pitched on back-to-back days, which included a 29-pitch outing Monday against the Blue Jays. Familia also suffered his second blown save Monday.

After enduring a rough month of May, Phillies reliever Ken Giles has been spotless so far through his first five appearances in June. Giles posted a 4.50 ERA in May, but he has yet to allow a run here in June. 

Overall, the right-hander owns a 2.00 ERA and a 1.370 WHIP through 27 innings pitched this season. He has 30 strikeouts compared to 13 base-on-balls.

Dodgers relief pitcher Kenley Jansen recorded his ninth save of the year in a 4-2 win over the Padres on Sunday.

Jansen closed out the 12th inning in nine pitches. He struck out two batters and allowed just one hit. 

Jansen has a 0.82 ERA with 20 strikeouts in 11 innings this year.

Diamondbacks reliever Daniel Hudson earned his first save of the season in his team's 4-0 win over the Giants on Sunday.

''That was kind of a rush to be honest,'' Hudson said. ''It's completely different from being a starter. I had to figure out how to control my emotions. My heart was pounding.''

Hudson closed out the ninth with 14 pitches. He has a 3.41 ERA with 28 strikeouts in 29 innings of relief this season.

Diamondbacks starter Rubby De La Rosa was in total command during his team's 4-0 win over the Giants on Sunday.

De La Rosa, who picked up his fifth win of the year, threw eight shutout innings, allowed eight hits and struck out six batters. His only flaw on the day was walking two batters.

De La Rosa (5-3) has a 5.27 ERA with 77 strikeouts in 82 innings this season.

Rockies closer John Axford earned his 12th save of the season in Sunday afternoon’s 4-1 win over the Marlins.

Axford, facing four batters in the ninth inning, struck three and walked one. He now has an ERA of 0.47 this season.

Padres closer Craig Kimbrel worked around a lead-off hit to preserve a 2-1 victory over the Dodgers on Saturday. Kimbrel picked up his 16th save of the season, striking out one batter in his inning of work. 

Braves starter Shelby Miller had a decent outing, but was in line for a loss until his team rallied in the ninth inning of an eventual 11-inning win over the Mets, leaving the pitcher with yet another no-decision. 

Miller's ERA rose to 2.02 on the year, this after giving up three runs on eight hits in 6 1/3 innings of work. Five of Miller's last seven starts have resulted in no-decisions, including his last three. 

Miller has given up eight earned runs in June, after allowing just four earned runs in May.

Pirates closer Mark Melancon was once again lights-out, retiring the side in order Saturday to help preserve a 4-1 triumph over the Phillies and earn his 20th save of the season.

Melancon's 20 saves are just one behind the Cardinals' Trevor Rosenthal for the MLB lead. The closer has picked up a save in nine of his last 10 outings and only has one blown save on the year, back on April 21. 

In eight June outings, Melancon hasn't allowed an earned run and has picked up seven saves. 

Jimmy Nelson had another rough outing for the Brewers on Saturday, giving up a season-high 10 hits in a 7-2 loss to the Nationals. 

Staked with a 2-1 lead, Nelson gave it right back, allowing home runs to Washington's Yunel Escobar and Wilson Ramos as part of his five-inning, seven-run outing. Nelson is now 3-7 on the season with a 4.60 ERA. 

Nelson lasted just 89 pitches, striking out three and walking two while managing to throw just 13 first-pitch strikes to the 29 batters he faced. 

"It is just unacceptable," Nelson said, per MLB.com. "I just have to be more consistent. I have to be better. Not just next time out, but every one of my outings.

"That's the frustrating part to me right now. I'm working hard to get that consistency, but the last couple of weeks it has been up and down. That's the most frustrating thing right now. I'm just going to keep working."
