Fresh off the disabled list, Reds right-hander Raisel Iglesias was knocked around for five runs on eight hits for 4 1/3 innings on Saturday. Iglesias was handed his second loss of the season, as the Reds were clobbered 14-3 by the Marlins.

Iglesias (1-2) was given an early 2-0 lead, but things fell apart for him in the fifth, when he allowed all five runs charged to him on the afternoon.

"I don't think it was necessarily fatigue,"manager Bryan Price said, per MLB.com. "There was a homer and a base hit, then there were also a couple ground balls that got through. ... They just did a great job of putting the ball in play and getting their base hits to keep things going."

Iglesias was making his first start since May 30, as he had been sidelined with an oblique injury. He'll head into the All-Star break with a hefty 5.90 ERA through the first half of the season.

The Reds reinstated starting pitcher Raisel Iglesias from the 15-day disabled list on Saturday, the team announced.

Iglesias was on the disabled list because of a lingering oblique injury.

Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen struck out two of the three batters to face him on Friday, as he recorded his 15th save of the year. Jansen worked a perfect ninth inning to preserve the 3-2 win over the Brewers.

Jansen is 15-for-16 in save chances this year, and he owns a 1.74 ERA, despite giving up runs in three of his previous five outings.

Brewers right-hander Jimmy Nelson almost came away with a win on Friday, but instead was handed his ninth loss of the year in the 3-2 loss to the Dodgers. Nelson put up zeroes for the first six innings, taking a 2-0 lead into the seventh.

And after getting the first two men out, it looked like Nelson was on his way to a victory. But, thanks in-part to two Brewers erros, the Dodgers wound up stringing together a two-out rally that produced three unearned runs against Nelson. 

Overall, Nelson allowed three runs (none earned) on five hits over seven innings. He walked two and struck out six, but fell to 6-9 on the year. His ERA was cut to 4.21.

Friday's outing snapped a personal three-game win streak for Nelson, and he has allowed eight earned runs in 25 2/3 innings over his last four starts.

Rockies closer John Axford recorded his 16th save of the year, as he worked a perfect ninth inning to secure the 5-3 win over the Braves on Friday.

The right-hander has converted each of his last four save opportunities, and owns a 2.36 ERA this season. 

Braves right-hander Shelby Miller struggled in his outing against the Rockies on Friday. Miller allowed five runs on a season-high 11 hits. He walked one and struck out seven in five innings of work, as the Braves lost to the Rockies 5-3.

Miller (5-5) allowed an early run in the first inning, and then settled in before allowing three runs to cross in the fourth inning. He also served up a solo home run to Carlos Gonzalez in the fifth inning. 

This was a step backwards for Miller, who threw seven shutout innings in his previous start. He ends the first half of the season with a 3.66 ERA over his last eight starts. He hasn't won a game since May 17.

"It's a tough place to pitch," said Miller, per MLB.com. "I didn't make pitches, and it's absolutely my fault."

Pirates closer Mark Melancon continued his run of success, as he collected his league-leading 29th save of the year in Friday's 5-2 win over the Cardinals. Melancon allowed a hit and struck out a batter in his scoreless inning of work.

Melancon has converted all 29 save chances this year, and he hasn't allowed a run in his last 27 appearances.

Reds closer Aroldis Chapman nailed down his 18th save of the season in the 1-0 win over the Marlins on Friday. Chapman worked around a one-out hit as he struck out the other three men to face him, two of them on 103 mph fastballs.

The hard-throwing righty is a perfect 18-for-18 in save chances this year, and is working on an 11-game scoreless streak, bringing his ERA down to 1.69 on the season.

Reds starting pitcher Raisel Iglesias will start Saturday against the Marlins in place of Anthony DeSclafani, who was scratched due to a glute strain he dealt with in his last start, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

"That glute tightness just hasn't subsided to the point where we want it to," manager Bryan Price said, per MLB.com. "He can pitch -- it's not something that would prevent him from pitching -- it's just that we'd like him to be back to 100 percent coming out of the All-Star break."

Brewers reliever Will Smith is expected to generate plenty of interest as the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline nears, according to CBSSports.com Baseball Insider Jon Heyman.

However, it doesn't appear Milwaukee is eager to trade the left-hander since he is relatively inexpensive and is under team control through 2019.

Smith is 4-0 with a 1.67 ERA and four holds in 40 appearances. He has 41 strikeouts in 32 1/3 innings.
