Iglesias has pitched multiple innings in nine of his 10 relief outings, and he has a 0.44 ERA in 20.1 innings in that role, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

That usage pattern is purposeful -- the Reds don't want to use him on back-to-back days, so instead they'll find a good spot to have him go two or more innings.

The Rockies activated Rusin (shoulder) from the 15-day DL on Wednesday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Rusin will join the Rockies' bullpen, providing length while serving in a long-relief role. In 12 games with Colorado this season, 29 year-old lefty has posted a 4.12 ERA with 39 strikeouts in 54.2 innings.

Jansen allowed one hit and struck out two Rays in an inning of work to pick up his 30th save Tuesday.

This one didn't come easy, as Jansen allowed a leadoff single to Oswaldo Arcia and hit Logan Forsythe with a pitch with two outs. Still, the closer got the job done en route to his third straight 30-save campaign.

Montero won't be summoned from Double-A Binghamton to start Saturday, as the Mets will turn to Bartolo Colon on short rest instead, Newsday's Marc Carig reports.

He seemed to line up better for that start than any other minor league pitcher in the Mets' system, but Colon, being a soft-tossing 43-year-old, will be called upon to take the ball against the Rockies on short rest. Montero will remain at Double-A for now as he tries to get back on track after struggling at Triple-A to start the season.

Estevez threw a scoreless ninth inning Tuesday to earn an easy save in a 6-3 win over the Orioles.

Estevez now has nine saves in 10 opportunities since taking over the closer role for the Rockies in mid-June. While his ERA sits at 3.96, he's allowed just two earned runs in nine July appearances. His job seems safe for the time being.

Reyes is being considered for Saturday's start in Miami, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

The 21-year-old was lifted from his start for Triple-A Memphis on Tuesday after three innings (57 pitches), but his exit was not due to injury. It seems Reyes, the top prospect in the Cardinals' organization and one of the top pitching prospects in all of baseball, could make his much-anticipated debut this weekend, but the team is saying he's merely "insurance" in case Tyler Lyons is needed in long relief in the days ahead.

A reason for his early exit was not immediately provided, but the Cardinals will need a starter this weekend following Monday's rainout, so perhaps this was in anticipation of a callup. The hard-throwing right-hander gave up two runs on two hits and a walk in his three innings of work, striking out seven on 57 pitches. He's struggled over the past month or so, but Reyes is already on the 40-man roster.

Gearrin (shoulder) will throw a bullpen session Tuesday, and if all goes well, he will head out on a rehab assignment, Amy Gutierrez of CSN Bay Area reports.

Gearrin has been slowly rebuilding strength in his right shoulder over the past several weeks, and now appears on the verge of joining a minor league affiliate. The 30-year-old was pitching well before landing on the disabled list, posting a 3.89 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 14 holds in 41 appearances. It's hard to imagine he'll be in the mix for saves at any point this year, however, with Hunter Strickland and Sergio Romo looming as the top options behind closer Santiago Casilla.

The Cubs have added Chapman to the 25-man roster on Tuesday.

Chapman will be available to pitch for the Cubs on Tuesday when they take on the White Sox. He will take over the closer's role that was previously occupied by Hector Rondon. The left-hander will add a big boost to an already strong Cubs bullpen.

Montero, 25, has a 2.45 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 15:8 K:BB in 18.1 innings (three starts) since being demoted to Double-A Binghamton. He could be an option to make a spot start for the Mets on Saturday against the Rockies.

Admittedly, the Mets would probably prefer to keep Montero in the minor leagues, given the fact he has walked 48 hitters in 98.1 innings between Double-A and Triple-A this season. However, he may be the best option to fill a hole in the schedule created by Monday's postponement and Tuesday's subsequent doubleheader, considering he would be able to start Saturday on normal rest and he is already on the 40-man roster. If Montero does get the call for Saturday's start, it would be wise to avoid him in most formats.
