Rodney needed just two pitches to record one out and his 29th save Tuesday against the Mets.

The D-backs entered the ninth inning thinking they'd have no need for their closer, as they were nursing a 7-1 lead, but the Mets rallied to make it 7-4 before Rodney got the call to collect the final out. He did so with alacrity, getting rookie Gavin Cecchini to hit a grounder to third on an 0-1 pitch. While Rodney's ratios aren't helping fantasy owners much due to his tendency for the occasional implosion, he just keeps racking up saves.

Nelson allowed three runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out six over five innings during Tuesday's win against the Giants. He did not factor into the decision.

Nelson had difficulty limiting baserunners Tuesday and was fortunate to exit the contest with just three runs to his name. It could've been much worse, but the 28-year-old was able to work his way out of two separate one-out, bases-loaded jams. Nelson held a 3.24 ERA as recently as Aug. 6, but has seen that figure inflate to 3.79 after allowing a total of 15 earned runs over his last three starts. Things don't get any easier for the Brewers' ace, as he's scheduled to face off against the Dodgers on Sunday.

Pivetta was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday.

Pivetta has had a tough season with the Phillies this year and experienced one of his worst outings during the nightcap of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Marlins. The 24-year-old allowed six runs on seven hits and a walk before being pulled from the game after recording just four outs. He currently holds an unsightly 6.73 ERA, but will likely find himself back in the majors when rosters expand in September.

Sims (2-3) tossed six scoreless innings to earn the win in Tuesday's 4-0 shutout of the Mariners, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out four.

The rookie shaved over a full run off his ERA with the impressive outing. Sims now has a 4.13 ERA and 1.34 WHIP through his first five big-league starts, but his 15:8 K:BB in 28.1 innings suggests he's been more lucky than good. He'll next take the mound Monday in Philadelphia.

Stewart allowed five runs on four hits and four walks over two innings in a no-decision Tuesday against the Pirates. He struck out two.

Stewart held Pittsburgh scoreless through two innings before unraveling in the third. He allowed a two-run home run to Starling Marte and loaded the bases without retiring a batter in the third inning, with each runner coming around to score against the bullpen. While he owns a respectable 3.38 ERA and 1.29 WHIP on the season, Stewart has allowed nine runs over his last 7.1 innings with the Dodgers and it seems likely that he will pitch primarily out of the bullpen the rest of the way.

Jansen struck out the side in a clean inning of work to record his 34th save of the season Tuesday against the Pirates.

Jansen was his usual dominant self in this outing, pumping in 11 of 14 pitches for strikes while making quick work of the side. Over his last 10 outings, the All-Star has allowed one run while posting an absurd 20:1 K:BB. He owns a 1.28 ERA and 0.69 WHIP for the season.

Stewart was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City and named the starting pitcher for Tuesday's game against the Pirates.

Alex Wood (chest) was sent to the disabled list to clear room for Stewart, who is set to make his third big-league start of the season. Stewart allowed seven runs (two earned) on eight hits and four walks across 7.2 innings during his first two starts for the Dodgers, so he'll look to improve the third time around. Yu Darvish (back) is expected to return over the weekend, so this may be Stewart's only start before being sent back to the minors or shifted into the bullpen.

De La Rosa (elbow) underwent successful Tommy John surgery Tuesday, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

At 28 years old, De La Rosa has now undergone the procedure twice, with the first coming in 2011. The rehab process should keep De La Rosa out for all of 2018.

McGowan was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday.

He'll take the roster spot of Steven Matz (elbow), who was sent to the disabled list in a corresponding roster move. McGowan hasn't played in a game for the big club this season, but he owns a 4.06 ERA and 55:24 K:BB through 62 innings with Las Vegas. He should work in low-leverage situations for the Mets moving forward.

Kontos (groin) was placed on the 10-day disabled list Tuesday.

Kontos said he would be good to go on Monday if the team needed him, suggesting the injury wasn't serious, but he will require at least a little down time. It's uncertain if he will be out longer than the minimum 10 days.
