Pivetta (5-9) allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits and four walks across five innings while earning the win Sunday against the Cubs. He struck out five.

Pivetta, who allowed the first four runners of the game to reach base, allowed three runs before recording his second out. He escaped the jam with no further damage done and coasted over the next four frames to earn his first win in nearly a month. Pivetta did not throw the ball particularly well, with just 59 percent of his pitches going for strikes, but some timely outs helped him through five frames. The rookie still owns a disappointing 6.57 ERA and a 1.56 ERA heading into Friday's start against the Marlins.

Neris struck out one in a scoreless inning to earn his 16th save of the season Sunday against the Cubs.

Neris was effective during his first save situation in a week, throwing 10 of 15 pitches for strikes while retiring the side in order. He's now thrown 4.2 consecutive scoreless innings and racked up three saves over his last five appearances to lower his ERA back down to 3.17. Neris has pitched consistently at the back end of the bullpen this season and should continue as the team's closer down the stretch.

The Dodgers outrighted Floro to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday, Eric Stephen of TrueBlueLA.com reports.

Floro was designated for assignment Aug. 19 following the Dodgers' acquisition of Curtis Granderson. After going unclaimed off waivers, Floro will stick around in the organization as bullpen depth.

The Dodgers placed Fields on the 10-day disabled list Sunday with a back strain, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Fields' injury is considered minor, with manager Dave Roberts telling J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News that he expects the reliever to come off the DL when first eligible Sept. 3. Since returning from Triple-A Oklahoma City in early July, Fields has emerged as one of the top setup men to closer Kenley Jansen, registering a 2.25 ERA and nine holds over his last 20 appearances.

Hernandez tossed a perfect eighth inning and notched a strikeout in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Giants.

Hernandez was also credited with his 13th hold of the season, and his fifth as a member of the Diamondbacks. It appears the right-hander may rank behind only Fernando Rodney and Archie Bradley in the Diamondbacks' bullpen hierarchy, as he entered the contest after Andrew Chafin, whose effectiveness in a setup role has waned in the second half. That being said, with Rodney in no danger of losing the closing gig and Bradley having been the Diamondbacks' top reliever all season, there's little chance of Hernandez entering the conversation for saves anytime soon.

The Phillies recalled Pivetta from Triple-A Lehigh Valley in advance of his scheduled start Sunday against the Cubs.

Pivetta was sent back to Lehigh Valley earlier in the week after serving as the Phillies' 26th man -- and starter for the second game -- of Tuesday's doubleheader with the Marlins. The rookie right-hander endured his shortest outing of the season, lasting just 1.1 innings while giving up six runs on seven hits and a walk. With a 6.73 ERA and 1.54 WHIP over 19 starts with the big club this season, Pivetta is probably best served gaining further development time in the minors, but with injuries presenting the Phillies with few other alternatives, the 24-year-old will make at least one more turn through the rotation.

Gsellman (5-6) landed in the loss column after allowing six runs (two earned) on nine hits and two walks in four innings Saturday against the Nationals. He struck out one and was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas after the game.

While only two of the runs were earned, the other four runs came as a result of an error Gsellman committed in the first inning. He'll head back to the minors after compiling a 5.75 ERA and 59:31 K:BB through 87.2 innings as a big-league starter. He should be back with the Mets once rosters expand in September as a long reliever or a spot starter.

Lamet (7-5) allowed one run on four hits and three walks while striking out five across six innings in a no-decision Saturday against the Marlins.

Lamet had a one-run lead until giving up a solo homer in the fourth inning of a game the Padres would go on to lose. He's allowed just eight earned runs in five August starts to lower his ERA from 5.62 to 4.60, and he's a player capable of helping out fantasy teams down the stretch. He'll make his next start Friday against the Dodgers.

Rodney pitched a perfect ninth inning against the Giants on Saturday en route to his 32nd save of the season.

Rodney made quick work of the heart of the order, retiring the side on nine pitches, with the final two outs coming on strikeouts. He's been excellent in the second half, but Rodney has now pitched three straight days and five of the last six, so he figures to be unavailable for the series finale.

McGowan will be recalled to serve as the 26th man for Sunday's doubleheader against the Nationals, Matt Ehalt of The Record reports.

The right-hander will come up for his third stint with the major-league club this month, providing additional depth to the bullpen. As the designated 26th man, McGowan will only be eligible to pitch in the second game of the twin bill.
