Clay Holmes SP | CHC
Pirates' Clay Holmes: Tabbed as Wednesday's starter
Holmes has been confirmed as Wednesday's starter on the road against the Dodgers, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.
The big 6-foot-5, 230-pound righty has a big fastball that allows the rest of his arsenal to play up when he's on. He has a 3.39 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 71 strikeouts in 66.1 innings at Triple-A. If Joe Musgrove (finger) is able to return from the disabled list next week Tuesday, when eligible, this will likely just be a spot start for Holmes.

Raisel Iglesias RP | ATL
Reds' Raisel Iglesias: Third blown save
Iglesias gave up a solo home run while striking out one in an inning Tuesday against the White Sox, and was charged with his third blown save of the year.
He gave up a solo shot to Avisail Garcia (his second of the game). Even with this hiccup, the biggest threat to Iglesias getting saves going forward is a trade to a team with an entrenched closer. As long as he stays in Cincinnati, Iglesias should continue to get his chances.

Seranthony Dominguez RP | SEA
Phillies' Seranthony Dominguez: Notches eighth save
Dominguez picked up his eighth save of the season Tuesday against the Orioles, giving up one hit and two walks while striking out two over 1.1 innings.
He worked around a few baserunners after coming in in the eighth inning. Dominguez needed 28 pitches to get the four outs, but handled himself well, all things considered. He has now converted four saves in four appearances over the last week.

Pedro Strop RP | CHC
Cubs' Pedro Strop: Records save Tuesday
Strop recorded his second save of the season in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Tigers, pitching a scoreless ninth inning with one hit allowed and a strikeout.
Strop was used instead of regular closer Brandon Morrow, who picked up a four-out save Sunday and was apparently getting an extra day of rest after recently returning from the DL. Strop has been effective for the Cubs this season, as he now has a 2.55 ERA and should continue to pitch in high-leverage situations with the occasional save opportunity when Morrow needs a day off.

Adrian Morejon RP | SD
Padres' Adrian Morejon: On disabled list with hip injury
Morejon is currently on the minor-league DL due to muscular soreness in his hip, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.
Morejon hasn't pitched since the middle of June due to this injury. Prior to landing on the disabled list, he was sporting a 3.59 ERA and 1.26 WHIP across 11 starts with High-A Lake Elsinore. Looking ahead, the Padres are hoping that Morejon will return to the mound in a couple weeks.

Kirby Yates RP | PIT
Padres' Kirby Yates: Placed on paternity leave
Yates was put on the paternity leave list prior to Tuesday's game.
Yates will be away from the team for a maximum of three games while attending to the birth of his child. In a corresponding move, Colton Brewer was called up from the minors.

Arodys Vizcaino RP | KC
Braves' Arodys Vizcaino: Reinstated from disabled list
Vizcaino (shoulder) returned from the 10-day DL on Tuesday.
As expected, Vizcaino will be available out of the Braves' bullpen for Tuesday's game against the Yankees. The right-hander has posted a 1.82 ERA and 1.15 WHIP with 15 saves in 17 opportunities this season. In a corresponding move, Michael Reed was sent back down to the minors.

Caleb Ferguson RP | STL
Dodgers' Caleb Ferguson: Notches save in long relief
Ferguson tossed three scoreless innings in long relief and was credited with his first MLB save in the Dodgers' 17-1 win over the Pirates on Monday. He gave up three hits and no walks and struck out a batter in the 52-pitch appearance.
Given the Dodgers' 16-run advantage, Ferguson faced one of the least pressure-packed save chances you'll ever see, but it was a nice achievement for the rookie, who was celebrating his 22nd birthday. Perhaps more importantly, Ferguson's extended outing allowed the Dodgers to rest closer Kenley Jansen and top setup men Scott Alexander and Daniel Hudson, who were all used a day earlier against the Rockies. Ferguson's fantasy appeal has taken a hit since he surrendered his rotation spot after a June 17 start, but it looks like he'll stick around with the big club while he continues to thrive as a long man out of the bullpen. He has allowed just one run over nine innings in his three relief appearances.

Carl Edwards RP | DET
Cubs' Carl Edwards Jr.: May need another rehab appearance
Edwards (shoulder) may need one more rehab appearance after his outing Monday went poorly, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.
Edwards got just two outs and allowed a pair of runs on a pair of walks and a hit batsman Monday for Triple-A Iowa. He's now missed over a month with shoulder inflammation. If he ends up making just one more rehab appearance, he could be lined up to return over the weekend against the Reds.

Brent Suter RP | ATL
Brewers' Brent Suter: Takes no-decision in victory
Suter allowed five earned runs over five innings and did not factor into the decision in Monday's victory over the Twins.
The five runs Suter served up were his most since April 21, but he still managed to go five innings for the 16th time in 16 starts this season. Suter's consistency has kept him in the rotation for the balance of the season, but his spot will be on the line whenever Zach Davies (shoulder) and/or Wade Miley (oblique) are ready to pitch for the big club. Neither will be good to go the next time through the rotation, though, which puts Suter on track to make his next start Saturday at home against the Braves.
