Yates got the save against the Dodgers on Friday, working around one earned run on two hits over 1.1 innings to close out San Diego's 5-3 victory. He struck out two and walked none.

It wasn't entirely smooth sailing as he gave up an RBI single to Manny Machado that hacked into the Padres' lead but Yates ended up striking out Joc Peterson to end the contest and lock up his 10th save of the season. He's having an excellent 2018 campaign despite this relatively shaky performance, as Yates now has a 2.11 ERA and a minuscule 0.91 WHIP with 84 strikeouts over 59.2 innings.

Pivetta allowed one run on four hits in a no-decision against the Braves on Friday, striking out four and walking one in five innings.

Pivetta pitched well in Friday's outing, giving up no extra-base hits while throwing 55 of 87 pitches for strikes, but the offense didn't give him much support to put him in line for a win. Pivetta has gone eight starts since his last win and has thrown only nine quality starts in 31 games started this season. Although his 4.58 ERA is rather high, the young righty's 1.29 WHIP is respectable and his 185 strikeouts are good for eighth in the NL. He's slated to take on the Rockies in Denver in his next start.

Voth will draw the start Saturday against the Mets, Chelsea Janes of The Washington Post reports.

Tanner Roark was expected to take the mound Saturday, but he just rejoined the team after the birth of his child, so the Nationals will hand Voth a start. The 26-year-old has appeared in two games for Washington this season (one start), allowing seven runs while punching out three over 5.1 frames.

Gallegos was recalled from Triple-A Memphis as expected Friday.

Gallegos was acquired from the Yankees as part of the Luke Voit trade in late July. The 27-year-old recorded a stellar 0.54 ERA in 16.2 innings for Memphis since the trade but has a mediocre 4.75 career ERA in 30.1 major-league innings.

Gsellman allowed two hits and allowed the tying run to score to blow the save Thursday against the Nationals.

Gsellman entered the game with runners on first and third with no outs in the eighth inning, and ultimately allowed both of the inherited runners to score to blow his seventh save of the season. However, prior to this hiccup, Gsellman had converted nine consecutive opportunities so he should continue to see the majority of the team's save chances to close the season.

Sewald didn't allow a baserunner and struck out one to earn the save Thursday against the Nationals.

Sewald entered the game in the 12th inning and needed only 11 pitches to secure the win after Robert Gsellman blew a save chance earlier in the game. It was only his second save of the season, and he isn't likely to pick up many -- if any -- more opportunities before season's end.

Brigham (0-3) tossed five innings and took the loss Thursday, allowing two runs on four walks and three hits while striking out six in the 4-2 loss to the Reds.

Despite falling to 0-3 in his first three MLB starts, Thursday was Brigham's best outing yet. His five innings and six strikeouts were both his highest to date and the two earned runs were the fewest he's allowed. The rookie right-hander will take the mound in Washington on Tuesday.

Iglesias struck out one while working around a hit and two walks across 1.1 innings to earn his 29th save in Thursday's 4-2 win over Miami.

It wasn't his sharpest outing but Iglesias still got the job done, giving him 29 saves in 33 chances this season. After allowing a run in three consecutive appearances to end August, the 28-year-old has been scored on just once in September, lowering his ERA to 2.38.

Jansen pitched a perfect ninth inning with one strikeout Wednesday to get the save against the Rockies.

Jansen sent the Rockies down in order on just 11 pitches, helping cap off a crucial sweep over their NL West foes. It hasn't always been as seamless as in years past, but Jansen now has 36 saves to go along with a 2.81 ERA and 75:17 K:BB across 67.1 innings.

Guerra is out of the lineup versus the Giants on Wednesday.

Guerra will remain on the pine for a second straight game as Freddy Galvis gets the nod at shortstop. Since being promoted from the minors last week, Guerra has gone 1-for-7 with a walk and three strikeouts across three starts.
