Atlanta recalled Wiles from Triple-A Gwinnett on Wednesday.

Wiles had been in line to start Wednesday for Gwinnett, but he'll instead move up to the big club and join the 26-man active roster as a replacement for right-hander Didier Fuentes, who was demoted to Triple-A after giving up eight earned runs in one inning in his start during Tuesday's loss to the Athletics. The 27-year-old righty will give the big club a fresh arm who's capable of covering multiple innings out of the bullpen, but if he isn't needed in long relief in Atlanta's remaining two games in Sacramento, he could end up filling one of the two open spots in the rotation during this weekend's series in St. Louis. Wiles was previously tagged for three earned runs in a one-inning relief appearance for Atlanta back on April 22, but he's been effective pitching out of the rotation at Gwinnett this season, logging a 3.33 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 78:24 K:BB in 81 innings.

Megill pitched a perfect ninth while striking out two en route to his 21st save of the season in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Dodgers.

Megill was tasked with facing the heart of the Dodgers' order and stood tall by striking out Freddie Freeman and Andy Pages before getting Michael Conforto to fly out to end the game. Over his last 10 appearances, Megill has tallied multiple strikeouts seven times and owns a 1.59 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 18:3 K:BB in 11.1 innings over that span. He now sits tied for fifth in baseball with 21 saves, which also ties his career high he set last year.

Brazoban struck out one in a perfect 10th inning Tuesday to record his second save of the season in a 7-6 win over the Orioles.

Edwin Diaz worked the ninth to get the game to extras, and Brazoban closed things out on 11 pitches (eight strikes). His other save this season came back on April 2, and with Diaz posting dominant numbers, Brazoban's high-leverage work will mostly come in setup situations. His recent performances have left him with a shaky grasp on even that role, and since the beginning of June the veteran righty has a 9.95 ERA, 2.05 WHIP and 15:15 K:BB through 12.2 innings.

Diaz (4-0) picked up the win in Tuesday's 7-6 extra-inning victory over the Orioles, striking out one in a perfect ninth inning.

The Mets closer kept the game knotted at 6-6 on 10 pitches (five strikes), with Huascar Brazoban getting the call in the 10th for the save. Diaz has returned to elite form in 2025, allowing just one earned run since April 23 and posting a 0.34 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 39:6 K:BB in 26.1 innings over that stretch, and on the season he's blown only one save with 18 successful conversions.

Hodge allowed six runs on five hits and a walk while retiring only one batter in Tuesday's 8-1 loss to the Twins.

The silver lining is that the Cubs already trailed 2-0 when Hodge entered the game in the eighth inning, so he didn't take the loss, but he otherwise had a miserable performance. The righty served up three home runs in the frame before departing, including back-to-back shots to Ryan Jeffers and Willi Castro. Hodge saw his ERA jump from 4.63 to 6.85 in the process, and he'll need to string together some better appearances to regain trust in the Chicago bullpen.

Morillo is expected to pitch in high-leverage situations after Shelby Miller (forearm) was placed on the 15-day injured list, Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports reports.

Miller had taken over the closer role following season-ending injuries to A.J. Puk (elbow) and Justin Martinez (elbow). Miller's injury leaves manager Torey Lovullo scrambling to fill out the late-game crew. Kevin Ginkel saved Monday's game after Morillo finished out the eighth inning. Morillo, fellow rookie Kyle Backhus and Jalen Beeks are expected to be part of the mix. The 26-year-old Morillo is 29 games into his MLB career and has a 3.91 ERA and 1.58 WHIP with 26 strikeouts and 15 walks over 25.1 innings.

Backhus will be pitching in high-leverage spots going forward, after Shelby Miller (forearm) was placed on the 15-day injured list, Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports reports.

Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo indicated he'll rely on multiple bullpen arms to close out games following Miller's injury. It started with Kevin Ginkel, who closed out Monday's game after Backhus and fellow rookie Juan Morillo worked the seventh and eighth innings. The manager said both rookies will "get their opportunity," although he didn't specifically say they would close games. The 27-year-old Backhus has a 1.86 ERA and 1.03 WHIP with 10 strikeouts and three walks over 9.2 innings since his contract was selected in early June.

Beeks is expected to be part of the mix of relievers that will garner save chances with Shelby Miller (forearm) on the 15-day injured list, Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports reports.

Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said he's going to "piece it together" when referring to the state of the team's closer. Kevin Ginkel got the first crack Monday, but Beeks has experience with 16 career saves, including 10 last season with Colorado and Pittsburgh. After a disastrous series against the Marlins a week ago (one inning, eight runs, four walks), Beeks has made three consecutive scoreless appearances.

Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said Ginkel is among a few relievers that could get save opportunities with Shelby Miller (forearm) on the 15-day injured list, Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports reports. "We're gonna piece it together the best way we can," Lovullo said. "I'm not gonna say anybody's gonna close the game."

Ginkel received the first closing opportunity since Miller landed on the IL and successfully converted the save in Monday's 6-3 win over San Diego. Ginkel has history closing games with the Diamondbacks, but it's wise for the manager to not rely solely on a reliever that owns a grisly 9.00 ERA and 1.75 WHIP in 2025. Weiner's report also mentioned Jalen Beeks (16 career saves) and rookies Kyle Backhus and Juan Morillo. The manager acknowledged that the two rookies will need to pitch in high-leverage situations going forward.

Romano (1-4) allowed three runs on three hits in one inning, taking a blown save and the loss in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Giants.

Daniel Robert retired just one of three batters he faced in the eighth inning. Romano was able to clean up that mess, but he made one of his own in the ninth and couldn't escape it. Patrick Bailey knocked an inside-the-park home run after Romano allowed a double to Casey Schmitt and a single to Wilmer Flores. Romano has allowed seven runs over his last four outings, and this was his first save chance since he converted one May 29 versus Atlanta. He's struggled all year with a 7.44 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 36:14 K:BB over 32.2 innings, picking up eight saves, six holds and three blown saves. The Phillies' bullpen is a mess, but Romano's ongoing struggles likely mean Orion Kerkering and Matt Strahm will continue to get more save chances.
