Arano (shoulder) was optioned to the Phillies' alternate camp site Saturday, Andersen Pickard of MLBDailyDish.com reports.

Arano missed much of last season due to elbow surgery, though it was shoulder soreness that held him back in summer camp. Saturday's move lines up with previous reports that the righty was behind schedule, though when exactly he'll be ready for game action remains to be seen.

Wingenter underwent Tommy John surgery Friday, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

The reliever was originally prescribed nothing but extra rest by team doctors after experiencing elbow irritation last week, but the injury was evidently far worse than originally feared. The timing of his surgery means that he'll have at best an outside shot at returning very late in the 2021 season, with the most likely outcome being that he's not back in game action until 2022.

Kelly threw a bullpen session Thursday and is expected to be ready for Opening Day, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

Kelly has been less active during summer camp than most of the Dodgers' other healthy pitchers, having last pitched in an intrasquad game over a week ago. The right-hander suffered from an undisclosed "overall body" issue down the stretch last season, so the team may look to take extra precautions with him given the limited time to ramp up for the season and the compact 2020 schedule. Still, Kelly looks to be in line for a prominent bullpen role when the season starts Thursday.

Gallegos is headed to St. Louis on Friday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Gallegos wasn't able to participate in the start of camp while dealing with travel issues, but manager Mike Shildt revealed Friday that the right-hander is en route to St. Louis. The team hopes that he'll be able to participate in practice Saturday. The 28-year-old's physical state remains to be seen, but he could serve as the closer at some point during the 2020 season. However, even if he is game ready, the Cardinals could choose to use him in lower-leverage situations to begin the year.

Hernandez will likely begin the season as the Marlins' No. 5 starter, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.

Hernandez was competing for the fifth rotation spot with Jordan Yamamoto during camp, but Yamamoto was transferred to the team's alternate training site Friday. The 25-year-old Hernandez has made 53 appearances (21 starts) in the majors over the past two seasons, posting a 5.11 ERA and 1.33 WHIP over 148 innings.

Yamamoto was optioned to the Marlins' alternate training site Friday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Yamamoto was initially presumed to be the No. 5 starter heading into the regular season, but his move to the team's alternate training site in Jupiter likely signals that Elieser Hernandez will occupy the final spot in the starting rotation. Yamamoto should be one of the team's top options to fill in as a starter if injuries occur in the rotation this year. The 24-year-old posted a 4.46 ERA and 1.14 WHIP over 78.2 innings in 15 starts with the Marlins in 2019.

Bard will begin the season on the Rockies' major-league roster.

After announcing his retirement from professional baseball in January of 2018, Bard signed with the Rockies in February as a non-roster invitee. He impressed enough in camp to earn a spot with Colorado's pitching staff to begin the regular season. The 35-year-old last appeared in the majors in 2013.

Shafer was optioned to the Reds' secondary camp site Friday.

Shafer is healthy after dealing with flexor mass irritation back in spring training, but he's still evidently not one of the Reds' primary bullpen options. He'll have a decent shot to make an appearance at some point this year, as he owns a career 3.75 ERA in 48 big-league innings, though that figure isn't backed up by his poor 41:32 K:BB.

Kuhnel (shoulder) was optioned to the Reds' alternate summer camp site Friday.

Kuhnel had been dealing with shoulder soreness back in spring training, though it's unclear if that's still an issue. He wasn't particularly likely to break camp with the team even if fully healthy, as he's thrown just 9.2 career big-league innings.

Bowman was optioned to the Reds' alternate summer camp site Friday.

Bowman won't be on the Reds' roster to start the year. He was low on the team's depth chart to begin with and missed time early in camp with elbow soreness, so it's not too surprising that he isn't considered one of the team's top options.
