Hudson allowed just one hit and two walks while striking out six over 4.2 scoreless innings in a no-decision versus the Reds on Friday.

Hudson had a good performance, but he threw only 74 pitches (49 strikeouts) and came up one out short of potentially being eligible for a result. The Reds' Matt Davidson made that a non-issue with a sixth-inning grand slam off Cardinals reliever Tyler Webb. Hudson has yet to pitch into the sixth inning this season. He has a 3.46 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 13 strikeouts in 13 innings across three starts. The 25-year-old is expected to make his next start Wednesday versus the Royals.

Iglesias pitched a perfect ninth inning with one strikeout to earn the save in Friday's 4-2 win over the Cardinals.

Iglesias blew a save in Thursday's game, but he was able to get right back into action with a clear outing Friday. The 30-year-old is now 3-for-4 in save chances this year. He's pitched to a rough 6.75 ERA with 14 strikeouts in eight innings and will likely remain in the closer role despite some mild inconsistency.

Pagan could see increased save opportunities after Drew Pomeranz (shoulder) was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday.

The right-hander saw work in the ninth inning Thursday while Pomeranz dealt with shoulder soreness, but he blew his second save in his last three appearances. Although Pagan has had some struggles this season, he could serve as the Padres' closer in the coming games by default. After he posted career-best marks in ERA and WHIP with the Rays last season, he carries a 7.36 ERA and 1.45 WHIP over 11 innings with the Padres in 2020. If he continues to struggle, Jose Castillo could see some save opportunities as well.

Pomeranz was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left shoulder strain, retroactive to Aug. 19.

Manager Jayce Tingler revealed Thursday that Pomeranz was day-to-day with shoulder tightness, but the injury is apparently more serious than anticipated. It's unclear whether the southpaw will be able to return from the injured list when he's first eligible. Pomeranz had served as the Padres' primary closer recently, so Emilio Pagan could be in line for ninth-inning duties while Pomeranz is sidelined. Pagan has also been struggling, however, so Jose Castillo could also get some save chances. Right-hander Luis Perdomo was recalled from the team's alternate training site in a corresponding move.

Harvey was placed on the 10-day injured list with a right elbow sprain Friday.

Harvey was pulled out of Thursday's contest in the sixth inning after suffering an injury, and the right elbow issue will force him to miss at least 10 days. It's unclear when the right-hander will be healthy enough to return to action. Harvey had tossed 3.1 scoreless innings to begin the season, allowing three hits and no walks while striking out two. James Pazos was recalled from the Rockies' alternate training site in a corresponding move.

Castillo (lat) threw from 120 feet Friday, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Castillo has been out since early July with a Grade 2 lat strain. He appears to be nearing a return, though when exactly that's expected to happen remains unclear.

Robertson (elbow) will throw a live batting practice session Saturday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

The veteran right-hander completed a bullpen session Thursday as he continue his recovery from Tommy John surgery in August 2019. Robertson could take the mound for the Phillies sometime this season if he continues to progress without any setbacks.

Romero was recalled by the Phillies on Friday, Jim Salisbury of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

The 23-year-old was optioned to the alternate training site after serving as the 29th man for Thursday's doubleheader, but he'll quickly rejoin the team with Jose Alvarez (groin) placed on the injured list. Romero has yet to make his major-league debut and had a 6.88 ERA, 1.94 WHIP and 40:35 K:BB over 53.2 innings at Triple-A in 2019.

Pagan was tagged with a blown save in Thursday's game against Texas, allowing a solo home run while striking out two batters in one inning.

With Drew Pomeranz unavailable due to a tight shoulder, San Diego turned to Pagan in the ninth inning while clinging to a one-run lead. The right-hander couldn't get the job done, allowing a leadoff homer to Nick Solak before retiring the next three hitters. The blown save was Pagan's fourth of the season, and he now sports a 7.36 ERA. If Pomeranz is forced to miss time, Pagan could get additional save chances, though he may be a shaky option given the seven walks and three home runs he has allowed over 11 innings this season.

The Phillies optioned Romero to their alternate training site Friday.

Romero joined Philadelphia as its 29th man for Thursday's doubleheader with the Blue Jays. He didn't appear in either of the Phillies' losses and was sent back to the alternate site in Lehigh Valley ahead of the team's weekend road trip to Atlanta.
