Kenley Jansen RP | DET
Dodgers' Kenley Jansen: Records save Saturday
Jansen picked up the save in Saturday's win over the Rockies. He tossed 1.2 scoreless innings, allowing a walk and striking out one.
Jansen faded away during the 2020 playoffs and there was a chance he could've lost his long-time role as closer, but it seems the organization is committed to him to remain as its ninth-inning guy -- and he responded in his first outing of the current campaign. Jansen recorded a five-out save and was quite sharp, tossing 14 of his 24 pitches for strikes and closing the door on the Rockies after they sniffed a potential comeback. Despite his postseason implosion in 2020, Jansen recorded a 3.33 ERA while going 11-for-13 in save opportunities last season.

Blake Treinen RP | LAD
Dodgers' Blake Treinen: Earns first win of season
Treinen (1-0) gave up two runs on one hit and a walk while fanning one through one inning of work Saturday against the Rockies.
Treinen didn't have his best stuff in this game, tossing just eight of his 17 pitches for strikes and getting punished on a two-run home run from Josh Fuentes, but he was still credited with the win after the Dodgers scored the winning runs in the top of the eighth inning. Treinen had a 1.21 WHIP last season to go along with a 3.86 ERA.

Elieser Hernandez RP | ATL
Marlins' Elieser Hernandez: Dealing with biceps inflammation
Hernandez was diagnosed with right biceps inflammation after leaving Saturday's start against the Rays, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports. His velocity had dropped to 85.3 mph in the third inning after he averaged 91 mph in the first inning, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
The 25-year-old exited during the third inning with what initially appeared to be a hand injury, but it's now been officially announced as biceps inflammation. Hernandez currently lines up to start Thursday against the Mets, though it's unclear if he'll be able to remain on schedule due to the injury.

Craig Kimbrel RP | TB
Cubs' Craig Kimbrel: Perfect in non-save situation
Kimbrel struck out the side in a perfect ninth inning during Saturday's 5-1 win over the Pirates.
Working in a non-save situation, Kimbrel overpowered the Bucs on 16 pitches (12 strikes). It was an excellent start to the campaign for the veteran closer, who's looking to erase memories of the 6.00 ERA he posted over the last two seasons for the Cubs.

Silvino Bracho RP | CIN
Giants' Silvino Bracho: Battling oblique issue
Bracho is dealing with a strained left oblique and is at least a week away from getting back on the mound, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
Bracho will still have to build his arm strength back up once he gets back on the mound, so he's still several weeks away from game action. He isn't on the Giants' 40-man roster, so his initial game action is unlikely to come in the big leagues.

Elieser Hernandez RP | ATL
Marlins' Elieser Hernandez: Exits with apparent hand injury
Hernandez exited his season debut Saturday against the Rays in the third inning with an apparent hand injury, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Hernandez was looking at his finger earlier in the game, so he might not be dealing with anything worse than a blister. He's battled blister issues in recent seasons. A diagnosis should be available after the game.

Braves' Carl Edwards: Rejoins Braves
Edwards signed a minor-league deal with Atlanta on Saturday, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
The 29-year-old opted out of his minor-league contract with the Braves on March 25, but he'll now rejoin the organization after briefly testing free agency. Edwards had an 1.08 ERA and eight strikeouts across 8.1 innings during spring training.

Mitch White RP | MIL
Dodgers' Mitch White: Sent to alternate site
White was optioned to the Dodgers' alternate training site Tuesday.
White was a longshot to break camp with the Dodgers coming out of spring training, and his battle with a shoulder injury cemented that decision as the right-hander was able to log only two Cactus League innings. White did return to the mound at the end of March and is expected to be part of the team's taxi squad at some point in the campaign, so it wouldn't be surprising if he spends some time on the big-league roster this season.

Jesse Biddle RP | ARI
Braves' Jesse Biddle: Gets minors deal from Atlanta
Biddle signed a minor-league deal with Atlanta on Saturday, Andersen Pickard of MLBDailyDish.com reports.
He was released by the Reds last week after allowing three runs on on nine hits and two walks while striking out 12 over nine innings in the Cactus League. Biddle should serve as organizational long-relief depth.

Anthony Bass RP | TOR
Marlins' Anthony Bass: Blows first save chance
Bass (0-1) blew his first save of the season and took the loss Friday as the Marlins fell 6-4 to the Rays, coughing up four runs on four hits over one inning. He struck out one.
It was a brutal start to his tenure as Miami's closer. Called on to protect a 4-2 lead in the ninth inning, Bass instead gave up singles to Brandon Lowe and Yandy Diaz before the light-hitting Joey Wendle blasted a pitch into the second deck in right field, with Tampa tacking on one more run afterward for good measure. Bass has little track record as a closer, coming into the season with only 15 career saves, so he might not have much leash in the role. What job security he does have may come from the fact that the Marlins' bullpen lacks any other clear alternatives.
