Edwin Diaz RP | LAD
Mets' Edwin Diaz: Stumbles in non-save situation
Diaz gave up two runs on three hits and a walk over two-thirds of an inning during Saturday's 3-0 loss to the Marlins.
Brought in to start the ninth inning with the Mets down 1-0, Diaz wasn't able to keep the game close after getting tagged for a leadoff double by Starling Marte. His line could have been even worse, but the Mets caught a break when Jesus Aguilar was called out on a fielder's choice at second base when on replay Jeff McNeil appeared to have lifted his foot off the bag early. Diaz's spot as closer isn't in jeopardy at the moment, but memories of his disastrous 2019 are still fresh enough that another bad outing or two could push manager Luis Rojas to consider other options in the ninth.

Yimi Garcia RP | TOR
Marlins' Yimi Garcia: Nails down first save
Garcia struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Saturday to record his first save of the season in a 3-0 win over the Mets.
Hours after Anthony Bass was removed from the closer role by Marlins manager Don Mattingly, Garcia got the save opportunity for the club and breezed through the heart of the Mets' order on 11 pitches (eight strikes). Dylan Floro and Richard Bleier, who worked the seventh and eighth innings, could also factor into the closing equation for Mattingly, but Garcia made a strong initial statement that he deserves the job to himself.

Austin Adams RP | BOS
Padres' Austin Adams: Reinstated from 10-day IL
Adams (elbow) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Saturday.
Adams was shut down in early March due to a minor elbow issue, but he's been pitching at the alternate training site and has now been cleared to return to game action. The right-hander only made three relief appearances for the Padres in 2020 but could serve in a setup role this year if he can remain healthy. Nabil Crismatt was sent down in a corresponding move.

Joe Kelly RP | LAD
Dodgers' Joe Kelly: Return date uncertain
Kelly (undisclosed) is with the Dodgers but doesn't have a timetable for his return, Michael J. Duarte of NBC LA reports.
Kelly has been throwing since late February, but there's no indication how far he has progressed. The designation of his injury is also cloudy; Kelly dealt with a shoulder issue last last season, but the organization hasn't stated that the right-hander's current absence is related to that injury. According to Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times, Kelly's return date is currently behind that of fellow sidelined reliever Brusdar Graterol (not injury related).

Brusdar Graterol RP | LAD
Dodgers' Brusdar Graterol: Still no timetable for return
Graterol (not injury related) is with the Dodgers, but it is still unclear when he'll be ready to return to game action, Michael J. Duarte of NBC LA reports.
Graterol was said to have been added to the 60-day injured list in early April, but that designation appears to have been an error as he is now noted as being on the 10-day IL on the team's official site. The reliever doesn't seem to be suffering from any new injury and is believed to still be recovering from an offseason bout with COVID-19. Graterol has been throwing for a few weeks, per Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times, so he may not be far off from joining the club.

Tejay Antone RP | CIN
Reds' Tejay Antone: Two strong innings
Antone threw two shutout innings against the Diamondbacks on Friday, striking out three while allowing one hit.
Antone was in line for the win after relieving Tyler Mahle to begin the fifth inning, but Cam Bedrosian and Lucas Sims both struggled later in the game. There will be similar opportunities for him to steal some wins in relief, and in the future he might get stretched out more -- this was just his second appearance in the regular season, after he lost some time in spring training with nagging injuries.

Cionel Perez RP | NYM
Reds' Cionel Perez: Earns win in extras
Perez (1-0) picked up the win Friday night, with the Reds scoring a run in the 10th inning after he got the last two outs in the ninth.
Perez gives the Reds yet another high-velocity reliever, and he's throwing harder now than he did with the Astros by nearly two mph. He walked a batter on Friday night, and that's been the concern with him in the past -- he walked six batters in 6.1 frames with Houston last year.

Jacob Webb RP | CHC
Braves' Jacob Webb: Recalled by Atlanta
Webb was recalled by Atlanta on Saturday.
Webb was called up Wednesday to serve as the 27th man for the doubleheader against the Nationals, and he'll remain in the major-league bullpen after Chris Martin (shoulder) was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday. Webb made eight relief appearances for Atlanta last year and tossed 10 scoreless innings while striking out 10.
-
Chris Martin RP | TEX
Braves' Chris Martin: Placed on injured list
Martin has been placed on the 10-day injured list due to right shoulder inflammation, retroactive to April 7.
Martin hadn't appeared in a game since April 4 due to numbness in the fingers of his pitching hand, but there was hope that he'd be able to return for Saturday's game against the Phillies. However, he'll be unavailable for several days while the team waits for the inflammation in his throwing shoulder to subside. Right-hander Jacob Webb was recalled in a corresponding move, while A.J. Minter and Tyler Matzek will remain Atlanta's top setup men while Martin is sidelined.

Dylan Floro RP | ARI
Marlins' Dylan Floro: Chance for saves
Floro is one of the top options for Miami's next save chance, Craig Mish of SportsGrid.com reports.
It sounds like Anthony Bass won't be getting the next save chance after blowing his first two chances of the season. Mish also mentions Yimi Garcia as another top option to get save chances going forward. General manager Kim Ng orchestrated the trade to get Floro from the Dodgers this past offseason. He has not allowed a run while striking out four over 3.1 innings this season.
