  • Cardinals' Genesis Cabrera: Up to 18 holds

Cabrera secured his 18th hold in a win over the Royals on Saturday, allowing a hit and recording two strikeouts over a scoreless eighth inning.

The left-hander turned in another solid setup effort, this time preceding Giovanny Gallegos, who drew Saturday's save opportunity. Cabrera now has 10 consecutive scoreless appearances -- a span covering nine innings and during which he's garnered six holds.

  • Adbert Alzolay RP | NYM

Cubs' Adbert Alzolay: Unlucky loss against White Sox

Alzolay (4-12) was tagged with the loss Saturday against the White Sox after allowing two runs on six hits while fanning seven across 6.2 innings.

Alzolay suffered his 12th loss of the season, but he notched a quality start in the process and also ended a run of three straight outings allowing at least three earned runs. The 26-year-old right-hander has a 4.71 ERA and a 1.16 WHIP and is tentatively scheduled to make his next start Thursday at home against the Brewers.

  • John Brebbia RP | COL

    Giants' John Brebbia: Recalled Sunday

Brebbia was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday.

Brebbia was previously optioned to Triple-A on July 29, but he made a lone single-inning appearance in the minors. He'll return to the major-league roster to provide a multi-inning option out of the bullpen.

  • Lucas Sims RP | CHW

Reds' Lucas Sims: Brought back from IL

Reds manager David Bell said Sims (elbow) will be activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Sunday's game against the Pirates, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Cincinnati will announce a corresponding transaction shortly before Sunday's 1:10 p.m. ET first pitch. After being sidelined since late June with a right elbow sprain, Sims checked out fine during a five-outing rehab assignment at Triple-A Louisville, giving up two earned runs on six hits and three walks across 4.2 innings. Prior to getting shut down with the injury, Sims had factored into the Reds' closing mix, but it's unclear if he'll immediately be thrust back into high-leverage spots out of the bullpen as he returns from the IL.

  • Daniel Bard RP | COL

Rockies' Daniel Bard: Secures 18th save

Bard earned the save over the Marlins on Saturday, pitching a scoreless inning during which he allowed one hit and struck out one.

With the Rockies ahead by three runs in the ninth inning, the team turned to Bard to close things out against Miami. The right-hander allowed a one-out single but nothing else en route to his 18th save. Bard has had some struggles this season but has held on to the closer job by successfully converting 18 of 24 save opportunities and posting a 58:21 K:BB along with a 4.14 ERA over 45.2 innings. He's blown only one save over his past nine chances dating back to June 28.

  • Cardinals' Giovanny Gallegos: Notches second save

Gallegos fired a perfect ninth inning to earn the save in the win over the Royals on Saturday.

Gallegos retired the side in order to secure his second save. It was a much-needed outing from him since he received a loss in his last two appearances. The 29-year-old has a 3.30 ERA and an impressive 0.80 WHIP in 57.1 innings. Gallegos may receive more future save opportunities given the recent struggles from Alex Reyes.

  • Luis Garcia RP | MIN

Cardinals' Luis Garcia: Earns first win with Cardinals

Garcia (1-0) fired two perfect innings while striking out three, earning the win over the Royals on Saturday.

Garcia entered the fifth inning and retired all six batters he faced. He has allowed just three hits in 8.1 scoreless innings over his last five appearances. His ERA is down to 5.79 after a rocky start to his season. In addition, he has a solid 10.6 K/9.

  • Kenley Jansen RP | DET

Dodgers' Kenley Jansen: Posts save No. 23

Jansen saved Saturday's 5-3 triumph over the Angels, pitching a 1-2-3 ninth with one strikeout.

After the Dodgers took the lead in the bottom of the eighth, Jansen entered and needed just nine pitches to retire the top of the Angels' order. The save is Jansen's first since July 24 as he's only thrown four innings over the last two weeks.

  • Dodgers' Brusdar Graterol: Picks up second win

Graterol (2-0) won Saturday's 5-3 game against the Angels, pitching a scoreless eighth while allowing two hits with two strikeouts.

Graterol entered a 3-3 tie in the eighth inning and sat down Phil Gosselin and Shohei Ohtani before the Dodgers scored two runs in the bottom of the inning to put him in line for the win. The hard-throwing righty has now thrown 2.2 scoreless innings in three appearances since being recalled from Triple-A earlier this week. He has a 4.63 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 9:4 K:BB in only 11.2 innings this season.

  • Brent Suter RP | LAA

Brewers' Brent Suter: Falls in save opportunity

Suter blew the save Saturday against the Giants, allowing a run on two hits in one inning of work.

Suter came on in the ninth to protect a 2-1 lead and secure the win for starter Brandon Woodruff, but Avisail Garcia misplayed Tommy La Stella's two-out fly ball into a run-scoring triple. It was the first earned run allowed by Suter since July 7, ending his streak of 10 consecutive scoreless appearances.
