Dodgers' Joe Kelly: Injury to biceps

Kelly exited Game 5 of the NLCS against Atlanta on Thursday with right biceps tightness, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Kelly was originally reported to be dealing with a shoulder injury, though the team quickly announced the biceps issue. He served as the opener in the contest but lasted only 28 pitches and recorded two outs. Prior to being removed, Kelly allowed a two-run home run to Freddie Freeman.

Dodgers' Joe Kelly: Dealing with shoulder injury

Kelly exited Game 5 of the NLCS against Atlanta on Thursday with shoulder stiffness, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Kelly threw 28 pitches as the team's opener and managed only two outs prior to exiting with the apparent injury. He also wasn't particularly effective while on the mound, as he allowed a two-run home run to Freddie Freeman -- the third batter batter of the contest. There is no timeline for Kelly's potential return.

  • Tommy Doyle RP | COL

Rockies' Tommy Doyle: Removed from 40-man roster

Doyle was outrighted to Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday.

Doyle spent the entire 2021 campaign at Double-A Hartford and recorded an 8.64 ERA and 2.10 WHIP in 8.1 innings across nine relief appearances. However, he'll now be removed from the 40-man roster.

  • Yency Almonte RP | LAD

Rockies' Yency Almonte: Outrighted to Triple-A

Almonte was outrighted to Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday.

Almonte made a career-high 48 relief appearances with the Rockies in 2021, but he sputtered to a 7.55 ERA and 1.59 WHIP in 47.2 innings. The right-hander will be removed from the 40-man roster early in the offseason but will likely compete for a major-league roster spot in 2022.

  • Edwin Uceta RP | TB

Dodgers' Edwin Uceta: Removed from 40-man roster

Uceta was removed from the Dodgers' 40-man roster Thursday, Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Uceta was sent to the minors in late August, but he'll now be cast off the 40-man roster as part of a move to make room for Andy Burns, who was added to the Dodgers' NLCS roster Thursday. The right-hander made 14 appearances (one start) in the majors this year and recorded a 6.64 ERA and 1.52 WHIP in 20.1 innings.

  • Joe Kelly RP | LAD

Dodgers' Joe Kelly: Serving as opener

Kelly will serve as the opener in Game 5 of the NLCS against Atlanta on Thursday, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Kelly has made six relief appearances to begin the postseason and has posted a 1.93 ERA and 0.86 WHIP in 4.2 innings. The Dodgers haven't indicated who will serve as the primary pitcher in Thursday's bullpen game.

  • Marlins' Andrew Bellatti: Outrighted to Triple-A

Bellatti was outrighted to Triple-A Jacksonville on Thursday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Bellatti got his first taste of major-league action in 2021 and posted a 13.50 ERA and 2.40 WHIP in 3.1 innings across three relief appearances. However, he'll now lose his spot on the 40-man roster early in the offseason.

  • Jesse Chavez RP | ATL

Braves' Jesse Chavez: Effective as opener

Chavez tossed a perfect first inning in Wednesday's win over the Dodgers in Game 4 of the NLCS. He didn't factor into the decision.

Chavez stepped in on short notice Wednesday after Huascar Ynoa (shoulder) was scratched, and he required just 11 pitches to get through the first inning. The right-hander still hasn't allowed a run in 4.1 innings across five postseason appearances, and he should be available as a reliever for the remainder of the series following Wednesday's short outing.

  • Dylan Lee RP | ATL

Braves' Dylan Lee: Joins NLCS roster

Lee was added to Atlanta's NLCS roster Wednesday, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports.

The 27-year-old wasn't included on the initial roster for the NLCS, but he'll join the bullpen mix with Huascar Ynoa (shoulder) going down with an injury. Lee made his big-league debut during the final weekend of the regular season, and he spent the rest of the year at Triple-A Gwinnett, where he posted a 1.54 ERA, 0.76 WHIP and 54:6 K:BB across 46.2 innings.

  • Jesse Chavez RP | ATL

Braves' Jesse Chavez: Starting Game 4

Chavez will start Game 4 of the NLCS against the Dodgers on Wednesday, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Huascar Ynoa was poised to start Wednesday's bullpen game for Atlanta, but he was a late scratch with shoulder inflammation. Chavez will instead open things up in Game 4, and he has yet to allow an earned run across 3.1 innings this postseason. The 38-year-old is unlikely to pitch much more than an inning before giving way to the likes of Drew Smyly or A.J. Minter, who are more likely to cover multiple frames.
