  • Ryan Weathers SP | NYY

Padres' Ryan Weathers: Starting Wednesday against Nats

Weathers will start Wednesday's game against Washington, Jeff Sanders of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Weathers will make his return to the rotation after being recalled from Triple-A by the Padres on Thursday. He'll get the ball Wednesday after Yu Darvish starts the series opener against the Nats on Tuesday.

  • Padres' Adrian Morejon: Beginning rehab assignment Tuesday

Morejon (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with Low-A Lake Elsinore on Tuesday, Jeff Sanders of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Morejon is expected to work in two-to-three inning stints as he works his way back from the elbow inflammation that has sidelined him for all of 2023. The left-hander is eligible to come off the 60-day injured list May 31, and the Padres could either stretch the left-hander out as a starter or use him as a multi-inning reliever around the start of June.

  • Derek Law RP | ARI

Reds' Derek Law: Resting for 10 days

Law has been diagnosed with a mild flexor mass strain and will rest for 10 days, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Elbow injuries are always a significant worry for any pitcher, but Law's seemingly could have been much worse. He'll still have to build back up after his rest period, however, so his absence will presumably extend beyond the minimum 15 days.

  • Wander Suero RP | ATH

Dodgers' Wander Suero: Recalled from Triple-A

Suero was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Suero will take the roster spot of Julio Urias, with Urias hitting the 15-day injured list due to a left hamstring strain. It's likely Suero will be sent down whenever the Dodgers call up a starter to replace Urias in the rotation.

  • Hobie Harris RP | BOS

Nationals' Hobie Harris: Sent to minors

Harris was optioned to Triple-A Rochester on Saturday, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.

Harris, who turns 30 in June, made a big-league roster for the first time when he cracked the Nationals' Opening Day roster, but he hasn't impressed during his time with the team. In 18.1 innings, he's struck out nine batters and walked 12 while struggling to a 5.40 ERA and 1.80 WHIP. Chad Kuhl (foot) was activated from the injured list in a corresponding move.

  • Erich Uelmen RP | PHI

Phillies' Erich Uelmen: Sent back to Triple-A

Uelmen was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Saturday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Uelmen joined the big-league roster Tuesday but spent less than a week with the team, exiting after making just one appearance. That outing didn't go well, as he allowed four runs (one earned) on two hits and two walks while striking out one in an inning of work against the Cubs on Saturday. Yunior Marte was recalled to take his place in the bullpen.

  • Diamondbacks' Anthony Misiewicz: Placed on IL with calf strain

Misiewicz was placed on the 15-day injured list by Arizona on Saturday with a right calf strain.

Misiewicz will miss at least two weeks of action after suffering the calf strain. The left-hander has been replaced on the roster by Austin Adams, with Adams having his contract selected from Reno in a corresponding transaction.

  • Austin Adams RP | BOS

Diamondbacks' Austin Adams: Contract selected from Triple-A

Arizona selected the contract of Adams from Triple-A Reno on Saturday.

Adams will take the place of Anthony Misiewicz with Misiewicz heading to the 15-day injured list with a strained right calf. The Diamondbacks transferred Carson Kelly (forearm) to the 60-day injured list to make room for Adams on the active roster. Adams will get a chance to work in the mid-to-late innings as a relief option while he's up with the D-Backs.

  • Dylan Covey RP | ATL

Phillies' Dylan Covey: Claimed off waivers from Dodgers

Covey was claimed off waivers by the Phillies on Saturday from the Dodgers, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Covey was designated for assignment by the Dodgers on Thursday, and the right-hander not only is now a part of the Philadelphia organization, but he's likely to start Tuesday, according to Gelb. Whether Covey sticks around for the Phillies going forward will at least partially be determined by how he pitches against the Diamondbacks come Tuesday.

  • J.B. Bukauskas RP | MIL

Brewers' J.B. Bukauskas: Placed on 15-day IL

Bukauskas was placed on the 15-day injured list by the Brewers on Saturday with a cervical strain.

A cervical strain is also known as whiplash. The right-hander was replaced on the active roster by Colin Rea, with Rea being recalled from Triple-A Nashville in the corresponding transaction. The Brewers placed Bukauskas on the 15-day injured list retroactive to May 17, so the earliest he could return to the Milwaukee bullpen is the start of June.
