Ryan Helsley RP | BAL
Cardinals' Ryan Helsley: Moved to 60-day IL
Helsley (forearm) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Monday.
Helsley has been out since June 12 after being placed on the 15-day injured list, so although he is now on the 60-day IL, the right-hander remains eligible to return Aug. 12. The transaction made room for Andrew Suarez on the 40-man roster after Suarez had his contract selected from Triple-A Memphis on Monday.

Zack Thompson RP | STL
Cardinals' Zack Thompson: Sent to Triple-A
Thompson was optioned to Triple-A Memphis on Monday.
Thompson will return to Memphis after being called up July 5, and he allowed three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out three batters over 4.1 innings while in the big leagues. The transaction opened a roster spot for Adam Wainwright (shoulder) for his return from the injured list.

Andrew Suarez RP | BAL
Cardinals' Andrew Suarez: Contract selected by St. Louis
Suarez had his contract selected from Triple-A Memphis by the Cardinals on Monday.
Suarez will get his first shot in the big leagues since 2020 after being called up Monday. The left-hander has produced a 4.08 ERA and 1.48 WHIP with 69 strikeouts over 64 innings in 28 appearances, including three starts, with Memphis this season. In a corresponding move to make room on the 40-man roster, Ryan Helsley (forearm) was moved to the 60-day injured list.

Justin Wilson RP | BOS
Brewers' Justin Wilson: Not activated just yet
Wilson (elbow) rejoined the Brewers on Monday but not been activated from the 60-day injured list yet, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Wilson cleared his final rehab hurdle in making back-to-back appearances with Triple-A Nashville on Saturday and Sunday. He will rest for a day or two before rejoining Milwaukee's bullpen. Wilson is coming back from last June's Tommy John surgery.

Seranthony Dominguez RP | CHW
Phillies' Seranthony Dominguez: Slated to return Tuesday
Dominguez (oblique) is set to be activated from the 15-day injured list Tuesday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.
Dominguez has been sidelined since mid-June with a left oblique strain, but he's impressed in two rehab appearances at Triple-A Lehigh Valley with five strikeouts over two scoreless frames. He'll provide the Phillies with a late-inning relief option.

Karl Kauffmann RP | COL
Rockies' Karl Kauffmann: Called up Monday
The Rockies recalled Kauffmann from Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday.
Jake Bird is scheduled to serve as the Rockies' opening pitcher in Monday's game against the Nationals, but Kauffmann will most likely work in bulk relief behind him, given that he's capable of covering multiple innings and is the freshest arm in the Colorado bullpen. The right-hander has produced an inflated 10.19 ERA and 2.04 WHIP with eight strikeouts in 17.2 innings over five appearances (three starts) with the big-league club in 2023. Kauffmann will likely be in line for a short-term stay with the Rockies.

Dereck Rodriguez RP | ATL
Braves' Dereck Rodriguez: Designated for assignment
Rodriguez was designated for assignment Monday.
Atlanta needed to free up a spot on their 40-man roster for Taylor Hearn. Rodriguez has made a total of three appearances in the majors this season between Atlanta and Minnesota but has spent most of the year at the Triple-A level. He'll now go through the waiver process.

Lucas Luetge RP | BOS
Braves' Lucas Luetge: Loses 40-man roster spot
Luetge was designated for assignment by Atlanta on Monday, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
The team needed to clear a spot on the 40-man and 26-man rosters for the addition of Pierce Johnson. It's the second time since late May that Luetge has been removed from the 40-man roster. If he clears waivers, he has the ability to elect free agency.

Scott Alexander RP | SF
Giants' Scott Alexander: Takes loss as opener Sunday
Alexander (6-1) allowed two runs on two hits over two-thirds of an inning to take the loss Sunday. He did not walk or strike out a batter.
Alexander was the opener for the second time this season, but it ended up being a poor outing for the southpaw, as he gave up multiple runs for the first time since April 29. He's emerged as a somewhat high-leverage option for the Giants this season, logging seven holds and one save over 32 appearances, though he's far from challenging Camilo Doval for the closer role. Alexander now has a 3.62 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 15:6 K:BB through 27.1 innings and should return to his usual role going forward.

Taylor Hearn RP | KC
Braves' Taylor Hearn: Dealt to Atlanta
Atlanta acquired Hearn from the Rangers on Monday in exchange for cash considerations, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
Hearn holds a 5.11 ERA over 92 appearances -- 25 starts -- at the major-league level, although he's spent most of 2023 at Triple-A Round Rock. He has minor-league options remaining, but he looks set to report to the big-league club right away as he joins a new organization.
