The Red Sox are expected to activate Martin (anxiety) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Martin was placed on the 15-day injured list June 5 after informing the Red Sox that he had been dealing with anxiety, but the right-hander looks to be tracking toward a quick return to the active roster. He began a rehab assignment Sunday with Triple-A Worcester, tossing a scoreless frame. That outing looks like Martin will be all he needs to get the green light to rejoin the Red Sox, as he's set to make the trip with the team to Toronto ahead of Monday's series opener versus the Blue Jays. He'll rest Monday and should be activated prior to Tuesday's game.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider said after Sunday's 7-6 win over the Guardians that Garcia was removed from the contest in the ninth inning with right elbow soreness, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports. "We'll see how he is and know more later [Sunday or Monday]."

Called upon for the save chance with the Blue Jays holding a 7-4 lead entering the top of the ninth, Garcia lacked his usual command in the relief appearance. After inducing a leadoff popout from Kyle Manzardo, Garcia surrendered a base hit to Daniel Schneemann before serving up a two-run home run to Brayan Rocchio. He then got Bo Naylor to foul out before getting lifted from the game after serving up back-to-back singles to Steven Kwan and Tyler Freeman. Nate Pearson came on with two outs and runners on the corners to put out the fire and enable Garcia to earn his 10th hold of the season, but Garcia's health now becomes the greater concern. If Garcia's elbow issue is serious enough for him to join Jordan Romano (elbow) on the injured list, the Blue Jays could turn to Pearson, Chad Green and Tim Mayza to handle any future save chances that may arise.

Sborz (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

A right rotator cuff strain put Sborz on the injured list May 9, but he made it through live BP earlier this week and has since gained clearance to start up a rehab assignment. Sborz compiled a win and three holds in seven appearances before going down. He should slot back into a fairly prominent role in the Rangers' bullpen when ready, though not quite at the back end.

Tinoco was designated for assignment by the Rangers on Sunday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Cole Winn was summoned to replace Tinoco, who will now be subjected to waivers. Tinoco did himself no favors with multiple walks in each of his final three appearances before this move. The 29-year-old righty has posted a 4.58 ERA and 1.49 WHIP in 76.2 career innings over parts of five big-league seasons.

Winn was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Winn will return to provide depth to a bullpen that was needed for six innings behind Nathan Eovaldi on Saturday. Jesus Tinoco was designated for assignment to make room for Winn, who has posted a 6.91 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 12:3 K:BB in 11 appearances (14.1 innings) for the Rangers so far this season.

The Astros selected Contreras' contract from Triple-A Sugar Land on Sunday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

After several years in the Brewers organization, Contreras joined the Astros on a minor-league deal last winter. The right-hander has put up impressive numbers at Triple-A -- he owns a 1.40 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 20:7 K:BB in 19.1 innings this season -- and it looks like he will get a chance to make his major-league debut in the coming days. He replaces Nick Hernandez in the Houston bullpen.

The Athletics called up Basso from Triple-A Las Vegas to serve as the 27th man for Sunday's doubleheader against the Twins, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Basso will provide depth to the Oakland bullpen, but it will likely be only a one-day stint in the big leagues. The lefty has struggled in the harsh pitching environments of the Pacific Coast League, allowing 18 runs in 21.1 innings since advancing from Double-A Midland earlier this season.

Hernandez was optioned to Triple-A Sugar Land on Sunday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

No corresponding move was announced, but the Astros are expected to have a fresh arm in the clubhouse soon to replace Hernandez in the bullpen. Hernandez worked 3.2 innings in relief of Spencer Arrighetti on Saturday, allowing just one run on three hits while striking out five. He should get another big-league opportunity before long.

Jansen pitched 1.1 perfect innings to earn the save in Saturday's 8-4 win over the Yankees.

Greg Weissert was shaky in the eighth inning, but Jansen was able to get the last out of the frame with runners on the corners. The Red Sox added some insurance in the bottom of the eighth, and Jansen slammed the door in the ninth. The right-hander is up to 11 saves this season, though he has picked up just two of them over four appearances in June. For the season, he's been reliable with a 2.74 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 30:11 K:BB over 23 innings.

Stanek allowed a hit but was not charged with a run over one-third of an inning, earning the save in Saturday's 7-5 win over the Rangers.

Eduard Bazardo struggled in the ninth inning after being brought in with a six-run lead. He gave up three runs and Stanek allowed one inherited runner to score before getting Corey Seager on a groundout to end the contest. Stanek is gaining an increasingly notable role in the Mariners' bullpen, having earned four saves over his last six appearances, though he likely got this opportunity because Andres Munoz had pitched the last two days. Stanek is up to seven saves with a 4.00 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 28:10 K:BB over 27 innings. At this point, the Mariners' closer situation should be considered a committee between Stanek and Munoz, with the latter likely to receive assignments in the highest-leverage spots.
