Matt Foster RP | CHW
White Sox's Matt Foster: Demoted to Triple-A
Foster was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte on Monday.
Foster was reinstated from the 60-day injured list Friday after making a full recovery from Tommy John surgery, and he'll be sent to work in the minors after making one appearance with the big club. He tossed a scoreless frame Friday against Houston, collecting one strikeout and a hold in the process.

Pete Fairbanks RP | MIA
Rays' Pete Fairbanks: Placed on IL with lat strain
The Rays placed Fairbanks on the 15-day injured list Monday due to a right lat strain.
Fairbanks sustained the injury in Sunday's outing against Arizona, when he allowed three runs on three hits and one walk across 0.2 innings. The full results of his MRI on Monday haven't been announced, but a severe lat strain would likely end the 30-year-old's season. Fairbanks has gone 23-for-27 on save opportunities this year with a 3.57 ERA and 1.17 WHIP across 45.1 innings. Colin Poche, Edwin Uceta and Manuel Rodriguez are nominally the favorites to see save opportunities with Fairbanks sidelined, but manager Kevin Cash's deployment of his high-leverage options has been notoriously hard to predict when the Rays haven't had a set closer. Joel Kuhnel was recalled from Triple-A Durham to add depth to Tampa Bay's bullpen.

Rays' Joel Kuhnel: Back up from Triple-A
The Rays recalled Kuhnel from Triple-A Durham on Monday, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.
Kuhnel has four scoreless relief innings under his belt with the Rays this season and has also spent time in the majors this year with the Brewers and Astros, although he didn't make an appearance for Milwaukee. He'll pitch in low-leverage situations.

John Schreiber RP | KC
Royals' John Schreiber: Back from IL
The Royals activated Schreiber (knee) from the 15-day injured list Monday.
Schreiber will rejoin the Royals bullpen after a three-week stay on the injured list due to right knee soreness. The 30-year-old has a 4.14 ERA and a 30:13 K:BB across 37 innings for the Royals this season. Carlos Hernandez was optioned to Triple-A Omaha in a corresponding move.

Grant Anderson RP | MIL
Rangers' Grant Anderson: Joining active roster
The Rangers recalled Anderson from Triple-A Round Rock on Monday, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.
Anderson will replace Gerson Garabito -- who threw four scoreless innings Sunday -- on the 26-man roster, giving the Rangers a fresh arm for the start of a three-game series against the Pirates. In 22.2 innings with the Rangers, Anderson has a 7.54 ERA and a 1.50 WHIP.

Rangers' Gerson Garabito: Sent to Triple-A
The Rangers optioned Garabito to Triple-A Round Rock on Monday, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.
Garabito had been with the Rangers since July 29, posting a 3.48 ERA across 10.1 innings for the team, including four scoreless frames Sunday. However, the Rangers will cycle in Grant Anderson and his fresh arm for some immediate bullpen help.

Greg Weissert RP | BOS
Red Sox's Greg Weissert: Recalled from Triple-A
The Red Sox recalled Weissert to Triple-A Worcester on Monday, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
Weissert was sent down in late July after yielding 17 runs across 12.2 innings covering his last 11 relief appearances. He appeared to right the ship at Worcester, allowing one run with a 7:2 K:BB over six frames.

Sam Hentges RP | SF
Guardians' Sam Hentges: Moved to 60-day IL
The Guardians transferred Hentges (shoulder) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday.
Hentges has been on the shelf since July 12 due to left shoulder swelling and was removed from his rehab assignment Aug. 9 with soreness in the shoulder. The move to the 60-day IL means that Hentges won't be eligible to return until Sept. 10. Anthony Gose was called up from Triple-A Columbus to take Hentges' spot on the 40-man roster.
