Erceg struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Twins.

Erceg was able to protect the two-run lead the Royals established in the eighth inning. It's his second clean outing in a row after he struggled in three straight appearances from Aug. 28 to Sept. 3, including one outing which was cut short when he was hit on the hand by a batted ball. He's up to 10 saves -- including seven as a Royal -- while posting a 3.74 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 61:15 K:BB through 53 innings between Kansas City and Oakland this year.

Basso did not factor into the decision in Saturday's loss against the Tigers, allowing three hits and one walk in six scoreless innings. He struck out six.

Basso looked great in his first starting opportunity in the big leagues. The 26-year-old rookie was making the fourth appearance of his career, but this was the first one to go past two innings. Basso got into trouble in the third inning with runners on second and third with no outs, and he managed to get out of it unscathed. He should be expected to get another turn in the rotation given his strong outing against Detroit.

Foley got the save Saturday, allowing one hit and striking out one in two-thirds of an inning against Oakland.

Foley entered the game in the ninth after the first out was already recorded and immediately gave up a single, but he worked around to earn his 21st save. The 28-year-old has lowered his ERA to 2.92 following yet another scoreless outing. Foley has not allowed an earned run since July, going 17 straight appearances without an earned run.

Altavilla cleared waivers Saturday and was sent outright to Triple-A Omaha.

The Royals dropped Altavilla from their 40-man roster immediately upon activating him from the 60-day IL on Thursday, but he'll remain within the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 31-year-old righty has allowed six runs in only 3.2 major-league innings this season, though he's been more effective in Triple-A, pitching to the tune of a 4.11 ERA through 35 frames.

Manager Alex Cora said that Jansen (lat) is available to pitch in Saturday's game against the White Sox, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.

Jansen was unavailable Friday due to a lat issue and missed out on a save opportunity. However, he's feeling well enough to suit up and pitch Saturday as needed. Jansen has 25 saves and a 3.70 ERA across 48.2 innings this season.

The Yankees outrighted Maciejewski to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Friday, per MLB.com.

Maciejewski was designated for assignment Sept. 1 but will remain with the organization. The lefty reliever has impressed through four games in the majors this season, posting a 7:2 K:BB while allowing two runs over seven innings. However, he's been much less effective in the minors, registering a 6.25 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 60:24 K:BB across 59 frames between Double-A and Triple-A.

The Red Sox recalled Campbell (elbow) from Triple-A Worcester on Saturday and placed him on the 60-day injured list, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

The move opens up a spot on the 40-man roster for Trevor Story (shoulder), who's being activated from the 60-day IL on Saturday. Campbell hasn't pitched since July 13 and it's unclear if he'll be healthy before the regular season ends.

Wantz (elbow) recently had a setback , and it's not clear when (or if) he'll be able to pitch next season, per MLB.com.

When it was initially clarified that Wantz's season-ending surgery wasn't Tommy John, the expectation was that he'd be ready to take the mound again for spring training in 2025. However, he's since suffered a setback, casting uncertainty about his outlook moving forward. Wantz pitched in only one big-league game this season, allowing one run on one hit while striking out three batters over 1.1 innings June 30 against the Tigers.

Moore (forearm) hadn't yet resumed throwing as of Wednesday, per MLB.com.

Moore has been on the injured list since Aug. 27 due to a left forearm strain. The southpaw said this week that he hopes to return to game action before the end of the campaign but also indicated that he doesn't plan to take any risks that could impact his long-term availability. Given that the Angels are well out of playoff contention, it seems likely that they will be conservative in determining when (or if) he will return to game action this season.

Fulmer (elbow) has been playing light catch and is hoping to return to game action before the end of the season, per MLB.com.

Fulmer landed on the injured list Aug. 30 due to right elbow inflammation. He first noticed the issue during his Aug. 25 start but continued pitching, and he attempted to throw a bullpen session days later before the decision was made to put him on the IL. While the injury doesn't appear to be serious and there remains a chance of Fulmer returning to action this season, the Angels are unlikely to rush his recovery since they are well out of the playoff race.
