The Tigers recalled Owens from Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday.

He'll take over the 26-man active roster spot of right-hander Sawyer Gipson-Long (neck), who was placed on the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move. Owens made two relief appearances for Detroit earlier this season but has spent most of the 2025 campaign pitching out of the bullpen at Toledo, where he's posted a 5.46 ERA and 1.68 WHIP over 28 innings.

The Tigers placed Gipson-Long on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a neck strain.

Gipson-Long last pitched Friday, and it's not clear whether he got hurt during that outing or at some point since then. The right-hander will be eligible for activation at the start of the second half, but the Tigers have not revealed a timetable for his return. With Reese Olson (finger) expected back from the injured list later this week, Gipson-Long might not have a rotation spot waiting for him once he's healthy.

The Tigers recalled Horn from Triple-A Toledo to serve as their 27th man for Wednesday's doubleheader with the Nationals.

Horn is expected to be returned to Toledo immediately following the second game of the doubleheader. The lefty reliever previously made his lone relief appearance of the season for Detroit back on April 22 against the Padres, striking out two and allowing one hit over 1.1 scoreless innings.

Eisert will serve as the White Sox's opening pitcher for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

The Dodgers' lineup typically features two left-handed hitters (Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman) in the top four spots in the order, so the White Sox will likely have the left-handed Eisert work the opening frame or two before exiting the contest. Right-hander Sean Burke is slated to work in bulk relief behind Eisert.

Hader picked up the save Tuesday against the Rockies. He allowed one run on two hits while striking out two over one inning.

The southpaw surrendered a solo shot to Hunter Goodman but still closed out his league-leading 24th save of the season Tuesday. Hader has been dominant in 2025, converting every save opportunity and notching six straight saves in his last six outings. On the year, the veteran closer owns a stellar 1.86 ERA and 0.72 WHIP through 38.2 innings across 37 appearances.

Miller earned the save Tuesday against the Rays, allowing a walk and no hits while striking out two in a scoreless frame.

Miller had another dominant outing to pick up his second save in as many days against the Rays. He opened with a 102-mph fastball to punch out Brandon Lowe and ended the game with back-to-back sliders to retire Josh Lowe. Miller has now converted three straight saves and has four consecutive scoreless outings since his last blown save June 19.

Rodriguez (forearm) threw a bullpen session Tuesday, MLB.com reports.

Rodriguez has been on the injured list since June 11 but appears to be nearing a return. The bullpen session reportedly went well, and he is expected to head on a rehab assignment shortly.

Fairbanks struck out two across a scoreless ninth inning without allowing a baserunner Tuesday against the Athletics.

Fairbanks took his second loss of the season in Monday's outing against the Athletics, but he immediately got the chance to bounce back. He was sharp and managed to redeem himself, though he has allowed multiple earned runs in two of his last seven appearances. Fairbanks allowed multiple runs only twice in his first 27 outings to begin the campaign.

Estevez pitched a perfect inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Mariners.

Estevez retired the side on 12 pitches (nine strikes), picking up his first save since June 20. He had just one appearance in between saves, as the Royals went 1-8 over the nine-game stretch in that span. Estevez has been strong as a traditional closer for the Royals, converting 23 of 26 save chances with a 2.02 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 30:14 K:BB across 35.2 innings. His career high in saves is 31 with the Angels in 2023, a mark he has a good chance of surpassing this year.

Holton will serve as the Tigers' opening pitcher for the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Nationals, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Holton will be opening a game for the fifth time this season, after previously giving up five earned runs across 5.1 frames on the previous four occasions. The left-hander has otherwise been an effective relief option for Detroit with a 3.66 ERA and 24:8 K:BB across 24 innings while recording three wins and eight holds.
