  • Aaron Loup RP | LAA

Blue Jays' Aaron Loup: Receives option Tuesday

Loup was optioned Tuesday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet reports.

Loup appears to be shaking off some rust as he's given up three earned runs along with a blown save in three innings since his recall. While he's only given up three hits over that three-inning span, two of those have gone by way of the long ball. The 28-year-old reliever will likely head to Triple-A Buffalo now to sharpen up his mechanics.

  • Tigers' Warwick Saupold: Throwing 120 feet

Saupold (groin) is throwing up to 120 feet, Cody Stavenhagen of MLB.com reports.

Saupold hasn't yet thrown off the mound but he is progressing at a steady rate. It's still unknown when he will be back, but according to manager Brad Ausmus, Saupold hasn't been feeling soreness in his groin during workouts, which is a good sign for the right-handed reliever.

  • Buck Farmer RP | CIN

Tigers' Buck Farmer: Recalled from Triple-A

Farmer was recalled from Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday.

Farmer will come up to take the spot of Bobby Parnell, who was optioned to Triple-A on Tuesday. The right-hander has made eight appearances out of the Detroit bullpen on the season, accumulating a 2.19 ERA with 13 strikeouts across 12.1 innings.

  • Sean Manaea SP | NYM

Athletics' Sean Manaea: Leaves Monday's start with left forearm injury

Manaea left Monday night's start after only 4.1 innings due to a pronator muscle strain in his left forearm, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.

This is potentially a really bad break for Manaea and the A's, considering he's their top pitching prospect. There is no timetable yet, but a forearm injury for a young pitcher is almost certain to be dealt with cautiously, even if it's not serious.

  • Royals' Scott Alexander: Sees less time after struggles

Alexander has allowed seven runs across 13 innings since being called up from Triple-A Omaha on May 12.

Opponents haven't had much trouble getting baserunners when Alexander is on the mound, as batters have a .360 on-base percentage against him. Alexander has yet to appear in a game since June 5 after struggling mightily in his last three appearances, giving up five earned runs across three innings.

  • Twins' Stephen Gonsalves: Continues to shine at High-A

    Gonsalves, 21, has a 2.33 ERA and 66:20 K:BB through 65.2 innings for High-A Fort Myers.

Gonsalves has now started 25 games at this level dating back to last season, and his ERA is hovering around 2.50 over that span. He gets lost in the shuffle a bit in terms of pitching prospects, but should see Double-A shortly and may be worth a flier in deeper leagues.

  • Pat Venditte RP | LAD

Blue Jays' Pat Venditte: Optioned to Triple-A Monday

Venditte was optioned to Triple-A on Monday.

Venditte had been getting knocked around since his callup, posting a 5.19 ERA and 1.73 WHIP in his eight relief appearances. His 7.27 K/9 and 4.15 BB/9 are very poor for a reliever, so he'll head back to Triple-A to sort things out while Scott Diamond steps into his role in the bullpen.

  • Michael Fulmer RP | NYY

Tigers' Michael Fulmer: Continues dominance on the mound

Fulmer extended his scoreless streak to 28.1 innings Sunday with a dominant six innings in a 4-1 win over the Yankees. He gave up two hits, struck out three and walked three.

He left the game with a sparkling 2.52 ERA. Fulmer has won five straight games and six overall, and has given up just one run and 13 hits in 34.1 innings in those five starts. Prior to this season, Fulmer had never pitched above Double-A.

  • Athletics' Kendall Graveman: Escapes serious damage Sunday

Graveman (2-6) came away with a no-decision Sunday, allowing one run on seven hits and two walks over four-plus innings while striking out five in a 6-1 win over the Reds.

He got hit hard and received a quick hook after Joey Votto led off the fifth with a single, but the Reds weren't able to put together the one big rally they needed. Graveman has now failed to get out of the fifth inning in three of his last four starts, and if A's manager Bob Melvin doesn't trust him to get out of even minor jams it's fair to wonder why Graveman is in the rotation at all. His next start is scheduled for Friday at home against the Angels.

  • Matt Moore RP | BOS

Rays' Matt Moore: Strikes out 10 in Sunday's win

Moore (3-4) tossed seven scoreless innings in Sunday's win over the Astros, allowing just two singles to Jose Altuve while walking one and striking out 10.

The 10 K's tied his season high, while it was the first time in six starts that he hadn't allowed a home run. It was just Moore's fifth quality start on the year, as high pitch counts and sometimes shaky command have saddled him with a 5.05 ERA despite his talent. He'll look to build on his momentum Saturday when the Rays host the Giants.
