  • Athletics' Kendall Graveman: Plays catch Sunday

Graveman (shoulder) was able to play catch Sunday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

It's a positive step for Graveman, but he still has plenty of benchmarks to hit in the recovery process before he can be considered close to returning from the disabled list. Jharel Cotton was called up from Triple-A Nashville to join the rotation when Graveman was moved to the DL and has performed adequately as the team's fifth starter, providing a 4.15 ERA and 1.21 WHIP over his last three turns.

  • Tony Zych RP | NYY

Mariners' Tony Zych: Takes loss Saturday

Zych (2-2) gave up an earned run on a hit and a walk over 1.2 innings in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Blue Jays. He also recorded a strikeout.

Zych was on the hook for the loss after giving up an eighth-inning solo home run to Ezequiel Carrera that snapped a 2-2 tie. The outing snapped a five-appearance scoreless streak for the 26-year-old, who still boasts a solid 2.60 ERA and three holds across 17.1 innings.

  • Chih-Wei Hu RP | TB

Rays' Chih-Wei Hu: Returns to Triple-A

Hu was sent down to Triple-A Durham following the conclusion of Saturday's doubleheader with the Athletics.

Hu filled in admirably in long relief after starter Matt Andriese (groin) lasted just one inning in his return from the disabled list for Game 2 of the doubleheader. The 23-year-old, who was making just his fourth appearance in the big leagues, covered four innings, giving up one run on two hits and a walk while striking out five. Since the Rays only brought Hu aboard Saturday to serve as their 26th man, he wasn't expected to stick with the big club through the weekend, but his solid outing could put him at the top of the list for a promotion the next time Tampa Bay needs relief help.

  • Orioles' Jimmy Yacabonis: Joins big club

The Orioles purchased Yacabonis' contract from Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.

After suffering an embarrassing 16-3 loss to the Yankees on Saturday, the Orioles elected to overhaul their bullpen, adding Yacabonis and Logan Verrett from Triple-A while dropping Edwin Jackson and Stefan Crichton. It's the first big-league promotion for Yacabonis, who supplied a 0.90 ERA and 1.03 WHIP and collected seven saves in nine chances over 30 innings with Norfolk. With few reliable healthy options in the bullpen behind closer Brad Brach and setup man Mychal Givens, Yacabonis could quickly vault up the depth chart in Baltimore.

  • Ryne Stanek RP | STL

Rays' Ryne Stanek: Optioned to minors

Stanek was optioned to Triple-A Durham on Sunday, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Stanek will lose his spot in the Rays bullpen after the team activated Jumbo Diaz (forearm) from the disabled list in a corresponding move. The 25-year-old right-hander's fate was likely sealed after he surrendered five runs -- including three home runs -- in his last two appearances in relief.

  • Austin Pruitt RP | TEX

Rays' Austin Pruitt: Earns fifth win in matinee

Pruitt (5-1) pitched a scoreless top half of the 10th inning, and Tampa Bay scored in the bottom half of the frame to beat the Athletics on Saturday.

The five wins jump off the page for a reliever, but Pruitt's 7.30 ERA and 1.82 WHIP are disastrous fantasy marks. The victory follows a poor previous outing (three runs allowed over just 1.1 innings) against Seattle, and the 27-year-old righty's inconsistency and lack of a go-to role out of the Tampa Bay bullpen make him a desperation asset.

  • Alex Colome RP | CHW

Rays' Alex Colome: Blows third save in afternoon tilt

Colome allowed a run on two hits to blow his third save of the season during Saturday's win over Oakland in the first game of the Rays' doubleheader.

The closer had gone 16 consecutive appearances (16.2 innings) since he last blew an attempt and collected a win and 12 saves during that span. With a 2.12 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 8.2 K/9 for the year, Colome has a stranglehold on the ninth-inning gig for the Rays, and he's a rock-solid asset in all fantasy settings.

  • Sean Manaea SP | NYM

Athletics' Sean Manaea: Another quality start Saturday

Manaea (6-3) gave up two earned runs on six hits, two walks, a wild pitch and a hit batsman over seven innings during Saturday's 7-2 win over the Rays in the second game of a doubleheader. He struck out five.

The lefty worked up to 103 pitches and racked up 20 swinging strikes over that span. It was Manaea's fourth consecutive quality start, as well as his fifth straight outing giving up two earned runs or less. He's notched a victory in each of those contests while lowering his ERA from 5.52 to 3.67 in the process. He'll look to extend his current successful stretch when he tangles with the Yankees at home in his next start.

  • Tommy Layne RP | STL

Yankees' Tom Layne: Bumped from 40-man roster

Layne was designated for assignment by the Yankees following Saturday's game.

The Yankees decided to swap out Layne for Domingo German, who can provide more length out of the bullpen in relief of Chad Green on Sunday. Layne struggled in a specialist's role, allowing an .832 OPS to same-handed hitters, with nine strikeouts to eight walks in total.

  • Matt Andriese RP | MIA

Rays' Matt Andriese: Set for MRI

Andriese (groin) will undergo an MRI on Sunday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The Rays have already announced that it was a right groin strain that forced Andriese from Saturday's game after one inning -- the same injury he just missed time with -- but we won't know the full extent of the injury until the MRI results are disclosed. Even if the results are favorable, Andriese could still end up missing another start or two.
