  • Donnie Hart RP | BAL

Orioles' Donnie Hart: Optioned to minors

Hart was sent back down to Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday.

Hart allowed three earned runs on five hits (one home run) and a walk while recording just one out during Friday's loss to Boston. In a corresponding move, the club selected the contract of Sean Gilmartin from Norfolk.

  • Orioles' Jimmy Yacabonis: Recalled from Norfolk

Yacabonis was called up from Triple-A Norfolk ahead of his start versus Boston during Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader.

As expected, Yacabonis will take the mound against a red-hot Red Sox offense as the Orioles are in the midst of seven games in six days. Across two starts with the club this year, Yacabonis has logged a pedestrian 5.00 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 10 strikeouts in nine innings. He will officially serve as the team's 26th man.

  • Edwin Diaz RP | LAD

Mariners' Edwin Diaz: Nails down 44th save

Diaz struck out two in a perfect ninth inning Friday to record his 44th save of the season in a 5-2 win over the Astros.

The 24-year-old closer just keeps rolling. Diaz has now converted 25 straight save chances, with his last blown save coming more than two months ago, and his 2.05 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 15.2 K/9 on the year mark him as one of the game's elite ninth-inning options.

  • Drew Pomeranz RP | CHC

Red Sox's Drew Pomeranz: Picks up win in relief

Pomeranz (2-5) allowed one walk and struck out one in a scoreless inning of relief and was credited with the win in Friday's 19-12 win over Baltimore.

This was Pomeranz's first appearance out of the bullpen after he was moved out of the starting rotation earlier this week. He entered in the fifth inning with Boston down by three and became the pitcher of record when the Red Sox put up a six-spot an inning later. For now, the left-hander will remain in the bullpen without a clear path back to the rotation. Brian Johnson will remain in the rotation until Eduardo Rodriguez (ankle) returns from the disabled list.

  • Chris Devenski RP | NYM

Astros' Chris Devenski: Expected to return soon

Devenski (hamstring) has been throwing in the bullpen and is expected to return to the Astros shortly, Jake Kaplan of The Athletic Houston reports.

Devenski's disabled list assignment was made retroactive to July 31, so he's already eligible to return. It's unclear whether or not he'll need a rehab assignment, but given the short length of his absence that may not be necessary.

  • Akeel Morris RP | SF

Angels' Akeel Morris: Called up by Angels

Morris was called up by the Angels on Friday.

Morris has thrown 14 innings for the Angels this season, struggling to a 5.79 ERA and a 7:8 K:BB. He'll likely fill a low-leverage role while he remains with the team.

  • Orioles' Jimmy Yacabonis: Will start Game 1 on Saturday

Yacabonis will be recalled from Triple-A Norfolk to start the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Red Sox, Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com reports.

Yacabonis has allowed nine runs on fifteen hits over 11.1 innings (two starts) with the Orioles this season. The 27-year-old has also given up 10 runs over two innings during his last two starts for the Tides and is now faced with a tough matchup against Boston.

  • Tyler Duffey RP | KC

Twins' Tyler Duffey: Called up from Rochester

Duffey was called up from Triple-A Rochester on Friday, Brandon Warne of Zone Coverage reports.

As expected, Duffey will join the big-league bullpen following the trade of Fernando Rodney to the Athletics on Thursday. Across seven appearances with Minnesota this year, Duffey has posted a 6.35 ERA and 1.32 WHIP. Look for him to be deployed in low-leverage spots while he's with the team.

  • Twins' Trevor Hildenberger: Could be in closer mix

Hildenberger could be in the mix for saves after the trade of Fernando Rodney to Oakland, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

The Twins may hold an audition or have a committee approach with Addison Reed, Trevor May and Matt Magill also possibly in the mix. Hildenberger has struggled recently by giving up seven earned runs in his last 2.2 innings, which could hurt his case. He's also given up too many long balls with nine home runs allowed in 56 innings, which could hurt his chances to finish games.

  • Trevor May RP | ATH

Twins' Trevor May: Could be in closer mix

May could be in the mix for saves after the trade of Fernando Rodney to Oakland, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

The Twins may hold an audition or have a committee approach with Addison Reed, Trevor Hildenberger and Matt Magill also possibly in the mix. After struggling initially in the minors in his return from Tommy John surgery, May has looked sharp in the majors with seven strikeouts in 3.2 innings, no walks and one run allowed. He's also averaging 94.4 mph on his fastball, which is higher than his average in any of his previous three major league seasons.
