Curtiss will serve as the opener for Saturday's game against the Phillies, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Curtiss earned the save Friday as he fired one clean inning while striking out three. Despite his ninth-inning role for the series opener, he'll serve as the opener for Saturday's contest. Ryan Yarbrough should serve as the primary pitcher during the game.

Pearson (1-0) picked up the win in Friday's 10-5 victory over the Orioles, allowing one hit and one walk over 1.2 scoreless innings of relief. He struck out two.

Entering the game after Taijuan Walker tossed three perfect innings in an abbreviated outing, Pearson quickly demonstrated that his arm was healthy again by striking out the first batter he faced, Austin Hays, on three pitches -- a 100.1 mph fastball, an 86.3 mph slider, and then a 101.5 mph fastball. He was rewarded with his first career win. Pearson threw 24 pitches (17 strikes) during his first appearance since Aug. 18, and while the 24-year-old won't have time to get stretched out and join the rotation before the regular season ends, he could be a devastating option out of the bullpen for the Jays in the playoffs.

Lopez (2-2) took the loss Friday, surrendering eight runs on nine hits and a walk over two-plus innings as the Orioles were dropped 10-5 by the Blue Jays. He struck out one.

The right-hander was allowed to come back out after a disastrous six-run second inning, but Toronto immediately slapped three straight singles off Lopez to drive him from the game, and only Travis Shaw getting thrown out at home prevented even more damage to Lopez's ratios. He finishes the season with a 6.69 ERA and 28:12 K:BB over 39 innings.

Tapia was placed on the 10-day injured list with a right biceps contusion Friday.

While the injury doesn't appear to be a particularly significant one, its timing means Tapia is done for the year. He made five appearances this season in his big-league debut, allowing one run on four hits in 4.1 innings of relief work. Austin Brice (lat) returned from the injured list in a corresponding move.

Hamilton was claimed off waivers by the Mariners on Friday.

Hamilton got into four games for the White Sox this season, allowing two runs while posting a 4:5 K:BB. Whether or not he has time to make one more appearance for his new team before the end of the year remains to be seen.

Bummer allowed a hit and struck out one over a scoreless eighth inning in Thursday's 5-4 loss to Cleveland.

Bummer was activated from the injured list earlier in the day and resumed his role as the White Sox's eighth-inning bridge to closer Alex Colome. Unfortunately, two relievers before him conspired to give away Chicago's three-run lead in the seventh inning, and Bummer's appearance took on less significance.

Hand struck out two in a perfect ninth inning against the White Sox on Thursday en route to his 15th save of the season.

Yasmani Grandal, Jose Abreu and James McCann went down in order against Hand, the first two on strikeouts. His 15 saves lead baseball, and Hand now has a 2.18 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 28 strikeouts to go along with a pair of wins. It looked early on like James Karinchak was going to usurp Hand in the ninth inning, but Hand held steady and has ended up as the No. 2 closer in fantasy baseball behind only Liam Hendriks.

Fulmer allowed four earned runs on seven hits across 2.1 innings in his start Thursday against the Royals. He didn't have any walks or strikeouts.

Fulmer wrapped up his 2020 season with another rough outing, and he'll finish the campaign with an unsightly 8.78 ERA. The righty never pitched past the third inning, but in his first year back after Tommy John surgery, he was understandably handled with caution. Still, it would have been nice to see Fulmer have a little more success across his 27.2 innings. The 27-year-old will now turn his attention toward 2021 and seeing if he can build up his arm strength further to go deeper into games.

Lovelady was recalled by the Royals on Thursday.

Lovelady was sent down by Kansas City just after Opening Day, but he'll return to the Royals' bullpen with four games remaining in the regular season. The southpaw has made 25 major-league appearances over the past two seasons, posting a 7.71 ERA and 1.90 ERA over 21 innings during that time.

Diekman (1-0) secured the win in a victory over the Dodgers on Wednesday despite allowing an earned run on one hit over one inning while also recording two strikeouts.

Tasked with preserving a 4-3 lead when he entered in the eighth inning, the normally reliable Diekman surrendered a one-out, game-tying solo home run to Edwin Rios. The veteran did bounce back in trademark form to record swinging strikeouts of Max Muncy and Will Smith, and he subsequently picked up his first win of the campaign when Ramon Laureano slugged a go-ahead two-run blast in the top of the ninth and Liam Hendriks slammed the door on Los Angeles in the home half of the frame. The stumble aside, Diekman heads into the final days of the regular season with Wednesday's run as the only one he's allowed across 19.1 innings, a span during which he's also struck out 28 batters.
