Colome served up a walkoff two-run home run to Jordan Luplow, the lone batter he faced Monday in Minnesota's 5-3 loss to Cleveland in 10 innings.

Entering a 3-3 game with no outs and a runner on second, Colome threw only three pitches before Luplow took him deep to end the game. It was yet another meltdown in a high-leverage spot for Colome, who already has three losses and three blown saves on his ledger. Twins manager Rocco Baldelli suggested after the game that he still trusts Colome in big spots, but the 32-year-old has unquestionably lost some security in the closer's role since the start of the season. Taylor Rogers has already picked up a save and has yet to let in a run over 9.1 innings, making him the top candidate to get a look as the closer if the Twins ultimately choose to yank Colome from the job.

Diekman secured his third hold in a win over the Rays on Monday, allowing a hit and a walk as well as uncorking a wild pitch over one inning. He struck out one.

It was certainly a more eventful frame than the normally efficient Diekman is accustomed to, but the veteran left-hander ultimately worked himself out of trouble to set up Lou Trivino for a save opportunity in the ninth inning. Diekman has now recorded seven straight scoreless efforts, and the single he allowed to Randy Arozarena was the first hit against him since April 10, a span of six appearances.

Manager Charlie Montoyo said Thornton will serve as the opening pitcher for Tuesday's bullpen game against the Nationals, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Toronto is still waiting on Nate Pearson (groin) and Ross Stripling (forearm) to return from the injured list, so Thornton will make a second straight "spot start" to open the Blue Jays' five-game week. Thornton tossed two innings and 25 pitches in his last turn as an opener April 21, and he shouldn't push significantly past that distance Tuesday. Montoyo mentioned Tommy Milone as one of the relievers likely to eat innings once Thornton exits.

The Yankees recalled King from their alternate training site Tuesday.

He'll be taking the active roster spot of Deivi Garcia, who was optioned to the Yankees' alternate site following his spot start in Monday's loss to the Orioles. King was effective over two long-relief outings with the Yankees earlier this season, covering nine scoreless frames while allowing only eight baserunners.

Yang allowed two runs on five hits and struck out one over 4.1 innings in Monday's 9-4 loss to the Angels.

Yang's contract was purchased by the Rangers on Monday, and he was put to work immediately when starter Jordan Lyles was bounced after just 2.2 innings. The timing of the transaction was fortuitous; the 33-year-old lefty was added because the bullpen had pitched a lot of innings over the weekend, and the Rangers just began a stretch of 19 consecutive days with a game. A starter in Korea, where he played for 14 seasons, Yang is expected to serve in a low-leverage role.

Clase (2-1) pitched a perfect 10th inning with one strikeout to earn the extra-inning win over the Twins on Monday.

Clase was efficient, needing 11 pitches to retire the side. In the bottom of the 10th, Jordan Luplow's walkoff two-run home run secured the win and made Clase the pitcher of record. The hard-throwing right-hander has allowed three unearned runs in 10.1 innings this season. He has a 0.97 WHIP and 12:3 K:BB with four saves and a blown save across 11 outings.

Trivino gave up a hit and a walk while striking out one in a scoreless ninth inning Monday to record his third save of the season in a 2-1 win over the Rays.

After Jake Diekman got the last two saves for the A's, the southpaw worked the eighth inning Monday with Tampa Bay's 9-1-2 hitters due up, leaving closing duties to Trivino. Manager Bob Melvin seems comfortable using both relievers with the game on the line, so it's unlikely either one will run away with the closer role, but Trivino has certainly pitched well enough to secure his high-leverage spot. On the season, he's 3-for-3 on save chances with a 1.29 ERA and 16:6 K:BB through 14 innings.

Pressly earned a save Monday after holding the Mariners scoreless with one hit and a strikeout.

Tasked with protecting a three-run lead in the ninth inning, Pressly gave up a leadoff single to Taylor Trammell, who was thrown out after Sam Haggerty reached first on a fielder's choice. Pressly then sent Jose Marmolejos down on strikes before forcing J.P. Crawford to ground out as he finished off his second save of the season. Across 10 innings, Pressly sports a 0.90 ERA and 1.30 WHIP.

Lakins pitched a scoreless seventh inning with one walk and no strikeouts to earn a hold in Monday's 4-2 win over the Yankees.

Lakins continued his strong start to the year with a nearly clean inning Monday. He's allowed just one unearned run in seven appearances this season. The right-hander has a 0.84 WHIP, 5:4 K:BB and 1-1 record through seven innings. Monday was his first hold of the year, which could mean he's in line for more high-leverage work.

Manaea (3-1) picked up the win Monday, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over five innings in a 2-1 victory over the Rays. He struck out six.

The lefty won his third straight decision but wasn't efficient enough to rack up his fourth straight quality start, exiting the game after 100 pitches (61 strikes). Manaea will take a 2.83 ERA and 28:7 K:BB through 28.2 innings into his next outing Saturday at home against the Orioles.
