Taylor (0-1) allowed three runs (one earned) on a hit and a walk in two-thirds of an inning, taking the loss versus Boston on Thursday.

Kyle Tucker dropped J.D. Martinez's sacrifice fly to tack an unearned run on Taylor's line. Enoli Paredes (shoulder) then allowed two inherited runners to score, which was enough to stick Taylor with a loss as his first decision this season. The southpaw has a 5.00 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 10:4 K:BB across nine innings this year. He's collected two holds and two blown saves in 11 outings, but he'll likely see mostly low-leverage work.

Hendriks notched his 16th save of the season Thursday against the Blue Jays after posting a scoreless ninth inning, giving up one hit and striking out two.

Hendriks had the task of closing things out with a three-run lead and while he allowed a one-out single to Joe Panik, the right-hander shut the door on a potential comeback after fanning Rowdy Tellez and Santiago Espinal on a back-to-back basis. Hendriks hasn't allowed an earned run since late April and has tossed 14 straight scoreless outings, as he's proven once again why he's one of the game's best late-inning relievers. He owns a stellar 1.71 ERA across 26.1 innings in 2021.

Alexander allowed one earned run on three hits and one walk while striking out two across 2.2 innings Thursday against the Mariners. He did not factor into the decision.

Alexander led off a bullpen game for the Tigers and threw 56 pitches. The lone run he allowed came on a solo shot in the first inning by Mitch Haniger. Though he exited the game with a 3-1 lead, Alexander did not pitch deep enough into the game to qualify for the win.

Paredes exited Thursday's game against the Red Sox due to a shoulder injury, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Paredes struggled in his brief outing, walking two and also plunking a batter before exiting without recording an out. The exact nature of the injury remains unclear, though manager Dusty Baker noted after the game that a roster move may be required.

Paredes exited Thursday's game against the Red Sox with a trainer, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Paredes failed to record an out and issued two walks while also hitting a batter. It's unclear what the potential injury may be, or if it will cause Paredes to miss additional time.

The Rangers promoted Henriquez from High-A Hickory to Double-A Frisco on Thursday, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports.

Henriquez will get a tougher challenge after he submitted a 3.75 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 27:8 K:BB across 24 innings over his five starts for Hickory. Signed for a modest sum of $10,000 out of the Dominican Republic in July 2017, the 20-year-old right-hander has provided an excellent return on investment for the Rangers.

King is slated to start Thursday's game against the Twins.

King will make a second straight turn through the rotation in place of Corey Kluber (shoulder) after he most recently took the hill June 4 against the Red Sox. In that outing, King made history by becoming the first pitcher from either side of the Yankees-Red Sox rivalry to throw an immaculate inning when he struck out the side on nine pitches in the bottom of the fourth. Despite the achievement, King's final line was somewhat underwhelming, as he finished the game with four runs allowed on six hits while striking out five over 5.1 innings in a no-decision. Still, the 26-year-old showed enough to get another look in a starting role while Kluber remains shut down through the All-Star break.

Valdez has not posted a save or hold in his last 10 outings.

Valdez opened the year as Baltimore's closer, but those duties have more recently gone to Paul Fry. Instead, Valdez has seen lower-leverage work. The change in role hasn't gone very well -- since his last save May 10, the right-hander has an 11.00 ERA, 2.44 WHIP and 9:2 K:BB in nine innings. He pitched a scoreless inning in Wednesday's 14-1 loss to the Mets, but without any promise of save chances, he carries little fantasy appeal.

Tate allowed a hit and struck out one over one inning in Wednesday's 14-1 loss to the Mets.

Starter Matt Harvey didn't have it Wednesday, and Tate was called upon to pick up an inning in the lopsided loss. The 27-year-old had given up eight runs across his previous 10.1 innings, so it's progress that he was able to keep runs off the board this time out. He's amassed a 4.82 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 10:5 K:BB in 18.2 innings overall. Tate has added three holds and a 0-3 record in 16 outings.

Alexander is scheduled to start Thursday's game against the Mariners in what's expected to be a bullpen day for the Tigers, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Alexander previously led off a bullpen game when Detroit last needed a fifth starter June 1 in Milwaukee. In that outing, the lefty gave up a run and recorded all three of his outs via strikeout before turning the game over to the bullpen, but Detroit may ask Alexander to work a little deeper into Thursday's contest. Derek Holland (shoulder) was moved to injured list Thursday and Jose Cisnero, Kyle Funkhouser and Daniel Norris are unlikely to be available due to their recent usage, but Alexander is fairly well rested after having not pitched since Friday.
