Hendriks was not available to pitch Wednesday and may not be ready to pitch in Thursday's series finale against Toronto, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

White Sox manager Tony La Russa said Hendriks was not available Wednesday, after the closer threw 39 pitches for the final five outs in Tuesday's win. La Russa added it's possible he won't be ready for Thursday's afternoon game. Craig Kimbrel is ready to pitch the ninth inning should a save situation arise.

Kimbrel could operate as the closer Thursday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

White Sox manager Tony La Russa said Liam Hendriks, the team's primary closer, was unavailable Wednesday after throwing 39 pitches to close out the final five outs of Tuesday's win over the Blue Jays. The manager said it was possible Hendriks would be avoided for Thursday afternoon's series finale. Kimbrel was targeted to pitch the ninth Wednesday, but a save situation did not present itself.

Barlow was tagged with a blown save Wednesday versus Houston, pitching 1.1 innings and allowing no runs on two hits and one walk while striking out two.

While the right-hander wasn't charged with any runs in the contest, he gave up a two-out, game-tying single in the eighth inning after being called upon to try to preserve a one-run lead. Barlow recovered to hold Houston scoreless in the ninth, but Kansas City lost the game in the 10th frame. Barlow should remain the most likely pitcher to pick up save opportunities for the Royals, as he has allowed only one earned run over his past nine appearances.

Yarbrough allowed two earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out none across four innings Wednesday against the Phillies. He did not factor into the decision.

Despite not missing many bats, Yarbrough wasn't hit hard as he didn't allow any extra-base hits. His performance made it surprising that he was pulled after only 55 pitches, especially considering he had thrown 70 and completed five innings in his previous outing. Assuming he is allowed to work deeper into his next appearance, Yarbrough has shown some positive signs by not allowing any home runs across nine frames since being activated from the injured list Aug. 18. For the season, he has a 4.57 ERA with a 101:23 K:BB across 128 innings.

Scott (5-4) struck out one without allowing a run in two-thirds of an inning, earning the win Wednesday over the Angels.

Baltimore's bats came to life in the eighth inning, rallying for five runs to put Scott in line for the win. This result snapped a 19-game losing streak for the team, which has made it difficult for many of its pitchers to produce noteworthy performances for fantasy managers. Since returning from a knee injury Aug. 11, Scott has allowed two runs on five hits and two walks over six innings. He has a 3.83 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 64:33 K:BB through 47 innings this year. The southpaw has added 14 holds, so he should continue to see high-leverage work down the stretch.

Robles (3-5) allowed five runs (four earned) on three hits and a hit batter while striking out one in one inning, taking the loss versus Minnesota on Wednesday.

The right-hander was called upon to pitch the top of the 10th inning, but by the time he was done, Josh Donaldson and Jake Cave had homered to put Minnesota up by five runs. Robles had stabilized with a six-inning scoreless streak entering Wednesday, but it came to a jarring halt in his first loss with Boston. The 31-year-old now has a 5.47 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 57:32 K:BB across 54.1 innings between Boston and Minnesota.

Pivetta yielded four runs on six hits and two walks with five strikeouts in four innings, taking a no-decision versus Minnesota on Wednesday.

While it wasn't as short as his 1.2-inning appearance versus the Yankees a week ago, Pivetta still struggled to a degree Wednesday. This was just the third time all year he's allowed multiple home runs in a start, and the first time since June 29. The right-hander's ERA ticked up to 4.57 with a 1.31 WHIP and 145:57 K:BB across 130 innings in 25 starts. He lines up for a tough matchup in Tampa Bay next week.

Colome (4-4) allowed two runs on three hits and a walk while striking out one in one inning, taking a blown save and earning the win Wednesday versus Boston.

The runs on Colome's ledger came from a game-tying, two-run home run by Kyle Schwarber in the ninth inning. Minnesota then took a massive lead in the 10th, and Colome ended up getting the win as a consolation prize. The right-hander has blown a save chance in each of his last two outings, allowing four runs across two innings in that span. He now has a 4.53 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 39:20 K:BB while adding seven saves, six blown saves and five holds in 47.2 innings this year.

Bummer (2-5) took the loss Wednesday versus Toronto. He allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits while striking out two in two-thirds of an inning.

Bummer fanned Marcus Semien and Vladimir Guerrero to open the eighth inning, but he allowed a run on three straight singles before Jose Ruiz relieved him. Ruiz then allowed an inherited runner to score after an error and a walk, but it was Bummer who took the loss. The southpaw has a 4.36 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 62:28 K:BB across 43.1 innings this year. He's added 16 holds, two saves and six blown saves in a high-leverage role, although he's now allowed runs in consecutive outings for the first time since late May.

Mayza (4-1) struck out two in a perfect inning, earning the win Wednesday over the White Sox.

The left-hander kept the game tied in the top of the eighth inning, and Toronto took the lead in the bottom half of the frame. Mayza has allowed one run on a hit and a hit batter across 3.2 innings since he returned from a bout of elbow inflammation. The 29-year-old sports a 3.63 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 42:9 K:BB across 39.2 innings while adding 13 holds and two blown saves in a fairly high-leverage role.
