Romano allowed a hit in a scoreless inning and earned the save in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the White Sox.

Toronto finally took the lead with a two-run rally in the eighth inning, and Romano made it stick while throwing 12 of 17 pitches for strikes. The 28-year-old has four saves and a win in his last eight appearances, a span that's seen him pitch eight straight scoreless innings. He's up to 13-for-14 in save chances with five holds, a 2.33 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 62:20 K:BB across 46.1 innings this year.

Warren was placed on the injured list Wednesday for undisclosed reasons.

How long Warren might be sidelined will be unclear until the Angels disclose the reason for his placement on the IL. The lack of an injury designation suggests it may be related to COVID-19, but there's been no indication that's the case.

The Angels selected Peguero's contract from Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday.

Peguero has appeared in only one game for Salt Lake, pitching two scoreless innings with two strikeouts and a walk. He's made 26 total appearances across three minor-league levels this season and has posted a 2.79 ERA and 67:18 K:BB in 51.2 innings. Peguero figures to be used in low-leverage relief situations for however long he remains with the Angels.

Fulmer (5-6) allowed one unearned run on a hit and two walks in two-thirds of an inning, taking the loss in Wednesday's 3-2, extra-inning loss to the Cardinals.

The pair of free passes loaded the bases followed by Lars Nootbar's soft, game-winning single to right field. It was Fulmer's second loss in his last four appearances, though he's allowed only four earned runs in 13.2 innings since returning from the injured list in late July and has been a mostly reliable, high-leverage reliever.

The Rangers are leaning toward promoting Otto from Triple-A Round Rock to start Friday's game against the Astros in Arlington, Chris Halicke of SI.com reports.

With Dane Dunning and Mike Foltynewicz on the COVID-19 injured list and Spencer Howard likely to join them on the list soon, the Rangers are left with multiple holes in their rotation. Otto -- one of four prospects the Rangers acquired in the July trade that sent Joey Gallo to the Yankees -- looks like he'll have a shot to fill one of the openings. Since joining his new organization, Otto has submitted a 2.70 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 19:7 K:BB across 20 innings over his four starts with Round Rock.

Feyereisen (biceps) felt good following Tuesday's rehab appearance at Triple-A Durham, Steve Carney of Sports Radio 620 WDAE reports.

Feyereisen has allowed three runs on three hits and a walk in 1.2 innings across his last two rehab appearances. However, manager Kevin Cash said Wednesday that the 28-year-old reported feeling good after his most recent outing, and he could return during the Rays' weekend series in Baltimore.

Fairbanks (shoulder) felt good after his rehab appearance at Triple-A Durham on Tuesday, Steve Carney of Sports Radio 620 WDAE reports.

Fairbanks has made two rehab appearances with the Triple-A club, and he's allowed a run on a hit and no walks while striking out two in two innings. Manager Kevin Cash said that the right-hander felt good after his most recent appearance and could rejoin the Rays' bullpen for their weekend road trip in Baltimore.

Chapman earned a hold Tuesday against Atlanta, pitching two-thirds of an inning and allowing one run on two hits and two walks while striking out one.

The veteran closer notched his first hold of the campaign, but it was nonetheless a discouraging outing. Chapman was brought in to protect a three-run lead in the ninth inning and had to be rescued by Wandy Peralta, who got the final out with the bases loaded to notch his fifth save. Chapman struggled mightily with his control, throwing only 12 of 26 pitches for strikes and issuing two walks. Since returning from the injured list Aug. 18, Chapman has not registered a save, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks across 2.1 frames.

Hendriks collected his 29th save of the season in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Blue Jays. He worked 1.2 innings and gave up one run on three hits and a walk while striking out a batter.

With one out and two runners on base and the White Sox holding a four-run lead, Hendriks was summoned from the bullpen to put out the fire. After walking Marcus Semien to load the bases, Hendriks induced a grounder from Vladimir Guerrero for an inning-ending double play. Hendriks would go on to let a run during the bottom of the ninth, but his good work from an inning earlier was enough for him to scoop up the save. Hendriks now trails only the Padres' Mark Melancon (34) for the MLB lead in the category.

Barnes allowed one earned run on one hit and two walks while failing to record an out Tuesday against Minnesota.

Barnes was called upon to hold a three-run lead in the ninth inning. However, he surrendered a solo home run to the first batter he faced and proceeded to walk the next two hitters prior to being pulled. Barnes has been excellent for the vast majority of the season, though he's now allowed 10 earned runs across his last 4.1 innings of work spanning eight appearances. Hansel Robles relieved Barnes to earn the save Tuesday, and he could be a candidate for the closer role should Barnes be displaced.
