Baker will have his contract selected from Triple-A Buffalo when rosters expand Wednesday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.

Baker has been lights-out for Buffalo this season with a 1.36 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 40:16 K:BB across 33 innings, and he'll now receive his first opportunity in the majors. The right-hander figures to fill a low-leverage role out of the bullpen in his first taste of the big leagues.

Pearson (groin) will be recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.

The 25-year-old was activated from the minor-league injured list in mid-August after recovering from the groin injury, and he gave up two runs on three hits with a 5:2 K:BB in five innings over five outings for Triple-A Buffalo. Pearson and Bryan Baker will be promoted from Buffalo to fill the two roster spots opening up with Wednesday's roster expansion. Pearson started in his lone appearance in the majors this year back in May, but he'll now operate as a bullpen piece.

Hendriks picked up the save Tuesday, pitching one scoreless inning while giving up one hit to the Pirates.

The 32-year-old gave up a single to Kevin Newman with one out, but he induced a game-ending double play from the next batter he faced, Hoy Park. The save marked Hendriks' 30th of the season, second only to Mark Melancon's 36. After back-to-back difficult outings against the Yankees earlier this month in which he surrendered six total runs, Hendriks has rebounded nicely and has only given up one run over his last six appearances.

Kimbrel tossed a clean eighth inning, allowing no baserunners while striking out one in Tuesday's win over the Pirates.

The 33-year-old was able to pick up a hold and avoid giving up any runs in the contest, something he'd only done twice in his previous six outings. He has struggled since joining the White Sox at the trade deadline, surrendering nine earned runs in 11.1 innings pitched after he had only given up a total of two earned runs in 37.2 innings for the Cubs prior to getting dealt. Some of his struggles can likely be attributed to his new role as a setup man, which he is unfamiliar with.

Kowar will be recalled from Triple-A Omaha to start Wednesday against Cleveland, Josh Vernier of 610 Sports Kansas City reports.

Kowar made his big-league debut in June and returned to the minors after surrendering 10 earned runs over five innings (three appearances), and he'll rejoin the Royals on Wednesday for another look. The 24-year-old hasn't been particularly effective at Triple-A since the demotion with a 5.14 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 74:24 K:BB, though he's given up two runs with a 16:2 K:BB in his past two outings (11 innings).

Herget had his contract selected by the Angels on Tuesday.

Herget inked a minor-league deal with the Angels on Aug. 17 and will join the big-league roster after surrendering seven runs over 4.2 frames in four appearances with Triple-A Salt Lake.

Misiewicz (forearm) is expected to come off the injured list when first eligible Saturday, the team's official site reports.

Misiewicz hit the IL on Saturday, but the move was made retroactive to Wednesday. That makes this coming Saturday the reliever's earliest possible activation date, which manager Scott Servais confirmed Misiewicz should be able to meet. The 26-year-old didn't allow an earned run in nine of his last 10 outings before going on the shelf, posting two holds during that span as well.

Anderson (elbow) has allowed four earned runs on seven hits -- including two home runs -- and a walk while recording five strikeouts over the 3.2 innings covering his last three rehab appearances for Triple-A Durham.

The right-hander allowed at least one earned run in four straight turns from Aug. 17-25 before producing an encouraging scoreless frame against Charlotte on Saturday in his most recent outing. The team's official site reports that manager Kevin Cash was informed Anderson's fastball clocked in at up to 94 mph during the appearance, an encouraging sign that his recovering elbow is strengthening. The 31-year-old remains without a firm return timetable, but it appears likely Anderson will need at least a couple more minor-league outings for both confidence and arm-strengthening purposes.

The Red Sox selected Gonsalves' contract from Triple-A Worcester prior to Tuesday's game against the Rays.

A COVID-19 outbreak has ravaged Boston's roster, the bullpen in particular, so Gonsalves joins the team as much-needed pitching depth. The lefty went three innings as recently as Aug. 19, so he could prove useful in a mop-up role Tuesday, assuming newcomer Brad Peacock doesn't provide much length on short rest. Gonsalves' only big-league action came in 2018 when he had a 6.57 ERA in 24.2 innings with Minnesota.

Fairbanks, who was activated from the injured list Friday, fired a perfect eighth inning in a win over the Red Sox on Monday, striking out the side and securing his 11th hold.

The hard-throwing right-hander didn't see action over the weekend, so Monday represented his first time back on the big-league mound since July 28. Fairbanks had allowed three runs (two earned) over his last two outings before going on the shelf, but he'd forged an eight-appearance scoreless streak immediately prior to that stretch that Monday's dominant performance was reminiscent of.
