Sewald pitched one inning, giving up two runs on a hit and a walk while striking out two Tuesday against the Astros.

Called upon to protect a 4-2 lead in the ninth inning, Sewald walked Jose Altuve to open the frame and later surrendered a two-run homer to Alex Bregman. It was the second time in three outings that he has blown a save but only the second time in his last 12 outings that he was tagged for any earned runs. Since returning from the paternity list Aug. 16, Sewald has posted a 2.25 ERA and 1.25 WHIP.

Colome earned the save Tuesday after holding Cleveland scoreless across one inning. He allowed one hit and no walks while striking out one.

Colome successfully protected a three-run lead to collect his sixth save over his last seven outings. The right-hander has been on fire as of late, failing to give up any runs in that span. Overall this season, Colome has 13 saves to go with a 3.95 ERA and 1.39 WHIP.

Law cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday, Brandon Warne of Access Twins reports.

Law had been on the 10-day injured list since July 17 due to a right shoulder impingement before being designated for assignment Sunday. He recently tossed three scoreless innings across two rehab appearances at Triple-A St. Paul, and he'll remain with the minor-league club after he went unclaimed on waivers.

Howard (undisclosed) was reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list ahead of Tuesday's start against the Diamondbacks.

Howard rejoined the Rangers on Saturday, and he'll serve as the opener ahead of Jordan Lyles on Tuesday. The 25-year-old has been sidelined since late August due to the league's health and safety protocols, but he recently made a rehab appearance at Triple-A Round Rock and gave up one run on three hits and no walks while striking out three in two innings.

Pivetta tested positive for COVID-19, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

He was already on the COVID-19 injured list. Pivetta was vaccinated, so this is especially frustrating for him and the Red Sox. He could return to the big-league rotation next week.

Harvey was transferred to the 60-day injured list with a right triceps strain Tuesday.

Harvey initially landed on the 10-day injured list with a right lat strain in early July, but he's now dealing with a triceps strain. Since he's already been on the injured list for over two months, Tuesday's move to the 60-day IL won't have an impact on his return timetable. Once the 26-year-old is deemed fully healthy, he'll likely remain at Triple-A Norfolk.

Hatch could be recalled to pitch in Saturday's doubleheader in Baltimore, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

He has a 5.23 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 37:5 K:BB in 32.2 innings over his last six starts at Triple-A. Hatch could have a bright future, but given his recent performance and the location of this potential start, it would be best to take a wait-and-see approach in redraft leagues.

Lopez (ankle) was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday.

The pitcher suffered a sprained ankle Monday and it seems likely the injury will end his season. Mike Baumann was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk to replace Lopez as a bulk reliever.

Burdi was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday.

Burdi spent just over a week in the major-league bullpen but made only one appearance during his time with the Orioles. He allowed no hits and a walk while striking out one in one inning against the Royals on Monday. Burdi will head back to the minors as part of a series of moves to provide fresh arms to the bullpen.

Manager Brandon Hyde said Tuesday that Lopez suffered a "significant" sprain in his right ankle that could end his season, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Lopez exited Monday's relief outing due to right ankle pain, and further evaluations revealed a serious injury. The right-hander appears to be heading to the 10-day injured list, and he might not have enough time to recover in time to return in 2021 with just under a month remaining in the regular season. Right-hander Mike Baumann was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday to take on a bullpen role.
