Puk fired a scoreless seventh inning in a loss to the Phillies on Saturday, allowing a walk and recording two strikeouts.

Puk threw 20 pitches during his one frame, and he labored a bit while getting just 11 of 20 pitches into the strike zone. However, the left-hander escaped unscathed, certainly a welcome start to his season after a spring in which he produced a 6.52 ERA across six appearances. Puk will likely continue to draw mostly low-leverage assignments until and unless he can prove trustworthy over an extended period.

Clase (0-1) allowed an unearned run on two hits without recording an out, taking the extra-inning loss Saturday versus the Royals.

Clase wasn't able to navigate the automatic runner in the 10th inning, allowing back-to-back singles to Hunter Dozier and Adalberto Mondesi. It's a tough result to open the season for Clase, but there's little reason to be worried yet. The right-hander posted a stellar 1.29 ERA and 0.96 WHIP while converting 24 saves in 69.2 innings last season, and he'll continue to get looks in high-leverage spots. It'll take more than one rough outing for his closer status to be in danger.

Snider (1-0) allowed a hit and struck out one in a scoreless inning to earn the win Saturday versus the Guardians.

Snider was tasked with the 10th inning Saturday, and he did his part. He collected the win as Adalberto Mondesi knocked in the lone run in the bottom half of the frame. Saturday was Snider's major-league debut -- he's expected to work out of the bullpen in a multi-inning role after primarily rising through the minors as a reliever.

Chafin (groin) threw a bullpen session Saturday, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Chafin suffered a groin strain late in spring training, though he is reportedly feeling much healthier. He may need to go on a rehab outing prior to being activated given that he was able to throw only two exhibition innings before suffering the injury.

Luetge (1-0) was credited with the win over Boston on Saturday, pitching a scoreless inning during which he walked one and struck out two batters.

The southpaw entered the contest with the score tied in the sixth inning and retired Boston on 16 pitches. He earned his first win of the campaign when the Yankees scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the frame. Luetge figures to be a key middle-relief arm for New York this season after posting a 2.74 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 78:15 K:BB across 72.1 innings in 2021.

Kolarek was recalled by the Athletics on Sunday, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Kolarek made 12 appearances out of Oakland's bullpen in 2021, posting a poor 8.00 ERA and 2.22 WHIP across nine innings. He is likely to pitch in low-leverage situations. Skye Bolt (oblique) was placed on the injured list in the corresponding move.

Chapman struck out one batter in a perfect inning Saturday to earn a save against the Red Sox.

The veteran closer was used in a non-save situation Friday and threw only 12 pitches, so he was able to take the mound for a second straight game Saturday. Despite a one-out error by Isiah Kiner-Falefa that allowed the tying run to come to the plate, Chapman again needed just 12 tosses -- 10 of which were strikes -- to set Boston down and earn his first save of the campaign. It has been a promising start to the campaign for Chapman, who has struck out three of the seven batters he has faced thus far.

Pivetta (0-1) was tagged with the loss against the Yankees on Saturday as a result of allowing four runs in 5.2 innings. He yielded four hits and three walks while striking out four.

Boston staked Pivetta to an early two-run lead, and the right-hander kept the Yankees off the scoreboard for three frames. However, he surrendered a game-tying two-run homer to Anthony Rizzo in the fourth and a two-run shot to Giancarlo Stanton in the sixth. Home runs have been an issue for Pivetta throughout his career, so it's fitting that all four runs scored against him Saturday came by way of the long ball. He'll try to get into the win column in his next outing, which is tentatively scheduled to take place at home against Minnesota late next week.

Romano earned a save against the Rangers on Saturday by throwing a perfect ninth inning.

Romano was summoned to protect a one-run ninth-inning lead and did so with ease, needing just eight pitches (six of which were strikes) to set the side down in order. The right-hander has earned a save in each of Toronto's first two games and has yet to allow a baserunner in two innings of work.

Akin struck out three and allowed one hit in three shutout innings in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Rays.

Akin worked in a multi-inning role behind starter Jordan Lyles, who took the loss Saturday. This was an expected appearance out of the bullpen for Akin, who failed to win a starting job in spring training. The southpaw was solid in this appearance -- more outings like Saturday's could allow him to challenge Dean Kremer or Tyler Wells for their spots in the rotation as the season progresses.
