Iglesias gave up a walkoff three-run home run in Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader against the A's, suffering his first blown save of the season. He gave up two hits and a walk with zero strikeouts in two-thirds of an inning.

Luis Barrera took Iglesias deep on a hanging breaking ball in a 1-1 count. He was pitching on back-to-back days and for the third time in four days. His season ERA is now up to 4.05, but he is secure in his role as the Angels' closer.

Wantz was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake prior to Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader against Oakland.

He gave up two runs in three innings over three appearances earlier this season. Look for Wantz to pitch in low-leverage situations.

Bummer (knee) has thrown a bullpen session but has yet to resume sprinting, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Bummer has been on the injured list with a strained right knee since Monday. The fact that he's been able to throw is undoubtedly a good sign, but whether or not he'll be back when first eligible remains to be seen.

Swanson was placed on the 15-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation Saturday.

Swanson tossed 12 scoreless innings over his first 11 appearances in 2022, but he allowed two runs in two innings over his last two outings. It's possible that his injury contributed to his decline in results, and he'll be unavailable for at least two weeks. A timetable for his return isn't yet clear, but left-hander Danny Young was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma to provide additional bullpen depth.

Sewald (2-1) was credited with the win in a victory over the Mets on Friday, firing 1.1 perfect innings during which he recorded two strikeouts.

The right-hander got a bit of redemption against his old Mets squad, serving as an effective bridge to Drew Steckenrider in the ninth inning following a sharp start by Marco Gonzales. Sewald had uncharacteristically allowed four earned runs over a pair of recent appearances preceding Friday's, but the pristine effort brought his ERA down from 3.86 to 3.38.

Smeltzer's contract was selected by the Twins prior to Saturday's start against the Guardians.

Smeltzer has made five starts for Triple-A St. Paul this season and has logged a 3.86 ERA and 1.29 WHIP in 21 innings. The southpaw will make his 2022 debut during Saturday's game at Target Field while also drawing his first start since Aug. 7, 2020. Since Bailey Ober (groin) and Dylan Bundy (illness) will likely be able to return soon, Smeltzer will likely head back to St. Paul following Saturday's start.

Thornton was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday.

Thornton was part of the Blue Jays' Opening Day bullpen, and he posted a 3.52 ERA and 1.30 WHIP in 15.1 innings over 10 relief appearances. However, he'll head to the minors after Hyun Jin Ryu (forearm) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list.

Oller was recalled by the Athletics to serve as the 27th man for Saturday's doubleheader against the Angels.

Oller's call-up was expected, as the right-hander will start in the second game of the twin bill. He struggled in his first three major-league starts this year, posting an 11.17 ERA and 2.38 WHIP in 9.2 innings.

Reyes was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday.

Reyes made his major-league debut Friday against the Tigers and struck out two in two scoreless innings. However, he'll head back to the minors after Ryan McKenna was recalled by the Orioles on Saturday.

Manager A.J. Hinch said after Soto was pulled from a save situation Friday that Soto "will pitch the ninth tomorrow with the lead," Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Soto's hold on the ninth-inning job is slipping. He has had little command of his pitches lately, and Friday was no different as he plunked two batters and walked another before getting the hook. Soto has handed out four free passes in his last 1.1 innings, and if the hard-throwing lefty can't rein it in, the Tigers could eventually turn to Will Vest -- who got the save Friday -- or Michael Fulmer for save opportunities.
