Kolarek was designated for assignment by the Athletics on Thursday.

Kolarek was sent down by Oakland in late May, and he'll lose his spot on the 40-man roster just over a month later. The southpaw has posted a 5.68 ERA and 1.23 WHIP in 12.2 innings over 11 appearances at the Triple-A level, and he'll likely remain in the organization if he goes unclaimed on waivers.

Oller was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on Thursday.

The right-hander posted a 3.24 ERA and 1.80 WHIP in 8.1 innings over his five relief appearances after being recalled by the Athletics in early June. However, he'll head back to the minors in order to make room for Adrian Martinez on the active roster.

Richards (neck) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Buffalo on Thursday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Richards faced live hitters Monday and has now been cleared to return to game action in the minors. The right-hander didn't face a lengthy shutdown after landing on the injured list June 18, so he expects to be ready to return when first eligible July 3.

Giles fired a scoreless eighth inning in a 9-3 win over the Orioles on Wednesday, allowing a walk and recording two strikeouts.

Giles was sharp for the third time in as many outings, pounding in 10 of his 15 pitches for strikes. The veteran right-hander has strung together scoreless efforts in each of his first three appearances at the big-league level since 2020, but as Wednesday demonstrated, manager Scott Servais is still looking to deploy Giles in low-leverage spots for the time being.

Bracho was designated for assignment by the Red Sox on Thursday.

Bracho joined the Red Sox for their series in Toronto to begin the week, but he didn't make any appearances. He's posted a 3.16 ERA and 1.06 WHIP in 31.1 innings over 18 appearances (one start) at Triple-A Worcester this year. He was eventually traded to the Braves for cash considerations.

The Astros announced Thursday that Dubin is dealing with a right forearm strain, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Dubin has been on the 7-day minor-league injured list since the start of the regular season, but he's made 13 appearances (seven starts) at Triple-A Sugar Land. He's posted a 6.00 ERA and 1.64 WHIP in 36 innings, but he hasn't pitched since June 21, and it's not yet clear when he'll make his next appearance.

The Guardians optioned Pilkington to Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday.

Pilkington was sent back to the minors one day after suffering his first career MLB loss. He picked up his sixth big-league start in the second game of a doubleheader with the Twins, covering 4.1 innings and striking out four while allowing four runs on eight hits and three walks. The Guardians will have a need for a temporary sixth rotation member once again Monday in Detroit, so Pilkington will be a prime candidate to receive a call-up from Triple-A to make a spot start.

The Twins optioned Winder to Triple-A St. Paul on Wednesday.

As anticipated, Winder will return to the minors after the Twins designated him as the 27th man for Tuesday's doubleheader with the Guardians. He started the second game of the twin bill, scooping up his third win of the season while spinning six shutout frames. Minnesota doesn't have a permanent opening in the rotation for the rookie at the moment, but Winder should be first in line for a promotion whenever the Twins require an additional starting pitcher.

Yarbrough was recalled from Triple-A Durham and is expected to fill a bulk relief role Thursday against the Blue Jays, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Jeffrey Springs had been scheduled to start but was placed on the family medical emergency list, so the team will instead turn to Yarbrough on short notice. Yarbrough is expected to handle the bulk innings behind opener Matt Wisler. Yarbrough was demoted in early June after opening the year with a career-high 5.65 ERA and career-low 15.0 percent strikeout rate through his first seven outings, and his 4.74 ERA in five Triple-A starts doesn't inspire much confidence.

Guerra's contract was selected by the Rays on Thursday.

The 26-year-old will join Tampa Bay's active roster as a replacement player after Brooks Raley and Ryan Thompson were placed on the restricted list ahead of the team's weekend series in Toronto. Guerra made seven big-league appearances between the Padres and Rays earlier in the year and allowed nine runs in 7.1 innings.
