Nick Vespi RP | PHI
Orioles' Nick Vespi: Optioned to Triple-A
Vespi was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday.
Vespi picked up a save in late June since a game was called after six complete innings, but he served mainly as a middle reliever during his time in the Orioles' bullpen. The southpaw made 11 relief appearances during his month with the major-league club and posted a 6.35 ERA and 1.32 WHIP in 11.1 innings. Right-hander Beau Sulser was called up to take his place in the bullpen.

Brent Honeywell RP | LAD
Athletics' Brent Honeywell: Eyeing bullpen session before break
Honeywell (elbow) threw a flat-ground bullpen session Tuesday and is expected to resume throwing off a mound shortly before the All-Star break, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
Honeywell had been steadily increasing his throwing distance while playing catch in recent weeks, but Tuesday marked the first time he had been throwing off flat ground with any sort of intensity since he was shut down late in spring training with a olecranon stress reaction in the back of his right elbow. Given the myriad arm troubles he endured in recent years, Honeywell will likely be eased along slower in his rehab compared to most pitchers under similar circumstances, so he could be a month or more away from coming off the 60-day injured list.

Ryan Weber RP | NYY
Yankees' Ryan Weber: Designated for assignment
Weber was designated for assignment by the Yankees on Wednesday.
Weber's contract was selected by the Yankees last week, and he tossed a scoreless relief inning against the Guardians on Saturday. He's given up just one run in 4.2 innings over two major-league appearances this year but will lose his place on the Yankees' 40-man roster after Miguel Castro was reinstated from the restricted list Wednesday.

Trent Thornton RP | CHC
Blue Jays' Trent Thornton: Dispatched to minors
The Blue Jays optioned Thornton to Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday.
Toronto will swap Thornton out of its bullpen for another right-handed option in Casey Lawrence, who was called up from Triple-A in a corresponding move. After rejoining the Blue Jays on May 31, Thornton appeared in 16 games and turned in a 4.98 ERA and 1.34 WHIP across 21.2 innings.

Casey Lawrence RP | SEA
Blue Jays' Casey Lawrence: Recalled from Buffalo
Lawrence was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday.
Lawrence was sent down Sunday after he gave up six runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out six in 5.2 relief innings against the Rays on Saturday. However, the right-hander should serve as a multi-inning relief option for Toronto once again after right-hander Trent Thornton was optioned to Triple-A on Wednesday.

Jonathan Bowlan RP | PHI
Royals' Jonathan Bowlan: Pitching in rehab games
Bowlan (elbow) has made five starts for the Royals' Arizona Complex League team, posting a 3.60 ERA, 1.80 WHIP and 9:3 K:BB across 10 innings.
Bowlan continues to build up from the Tommy John surgery he underwent last spring. He's about 13 months removed from the procedure, so he remains on the expected timeline. He'll likely continue to make rehab starts in Arizona and could move up to a lower-level full-season affiliate before ultimately joining Double-A Northwest Arkansas some time in the last two months of the campaign.

Joey Krehbiel RP | TB
Orioles' Joey Krehbiel: Escapes jam, earns win
Krehbiel (4-3) earned the extra-inning win Tuesday. He allowed a hit and a walk and struck out one in a scoreless inning versus the Rangers.
Krehbiel allowed a single and a walk to load the bases in the with one out in the 10th inning, but he escaped the jam and became the winning pitcher when Cedric Mullins hit a walkoff double. This was Krehbiel's fifth outing since returning from a shoulder injury, and he's allowed one run, two hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in six innings in that span. The reliever has a steady 2.48 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 23:10 K:BB with six holds in 29 innings overall.

Jimmy Lambert RP | CHW
White Sox's Jimmy Lambert: Called up Wednesday
Lambert was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday.
Lambert will return to the big leagues just two days after being optioned back to Triple-A, as Vince Velasquez (finger) was placed on the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move. The reliever owns a 3.45 ERA and 1.40 WHIP with 13 strikeouts over 15.2 innings in nine appearances with the White Sox this season.

Will Vest RP | DET
Tigers' Will Vest: Back with parent club
The Tigers recalled Vest from Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday.
Even though Detroit optioned Vest to Triple-A after the second game of Monday's doubleheader with the Guardians, he'll be eligible to rejoin the big club two days later since fellow reliever Wily Peralta (hamstring) was moved to the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move. In his 26 appearances out of the Tigers bullpen this season, Vest has picked up one save and no holds while submitting a 3.41 ERA and 1.14 WHIP.
