Lopez (back) said Sunday that he's making good progress and expects to return from the 15-day injured list when first eligible Aug. 9, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

Lopez's lower-back strain forced him to the IL on Thursday, but he already resumed throwing Saturday after two doctors quickly determined he wouldn't require surgery to address the injury. The right-hander has converted to a full-time relief role in 2022 and has generated a 2.98 ERA and 1.06 WHIP in 42.1 innings while collecting four wins and four holds.

The Angels optioned Silseth to Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday.

He'll head back to the minors after he was lit up for five earned runs on five hits and four walks while striking out five over four innings Saturday in a no-decision versus the Rangers. Silseth has turned in a woeful 6.59 ERA and 1.57 WHIP over his first seven big-league starts, but he could find himself in consideration for another call-up nonetheless the next time the Angels require a sixth starter. That could happen as soon as the upcoming week, when the Angels will have six games in five days and may need another arm if Shohei Ohtani or Noah Syndergaard is dealt ahead of Tuesday's trade deadline.

The Angels reinstated Herget (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list Sunday.

To clear room for Herget on the 26-man active roster, the Halos optioned Chase Silseth to Triple-A Salt Lake. Herget was sidelined for the past five and a half weeks due to right shoulder tendinitis, but he pitched effectively over a recent three-appearance rehab assignment for Double-A Rocket City, covering four innings while allowing two earned runs on two hits and two walks and striking out four.

Romano picked up the save Sunday against Detroit, striking out two in a perfect ninth inning in a 4-1 victory.

Romano threw 10 of his 13 pitches for strikes and no ball left the infield as he secured his 24th save in 27 chances. The 29-year-old had a productive July and went 7-for-7 in save chances, allowing just one earned run in 10.2 innings while compiling a 12:1 K:BB. He should continue to have many save chances as Toronto competes for a spot in the postseason.

The Mariners designated Misiewicz for assignment Sunday, Corey Brock of The Athletic reports.

Misiewicz has resided at Triple-A Tacoma since being optioned June 10, but he'll now lose his spot on the 40-man roster after the Mariners needed to clear a spot for outfielder Jack Larsen, who was called up from Double-A Arkansas to enter the starting lineup for Sunday's game in Houston. Since moving down to Tacoma, Misiewicz turned in a 3.65 ERA while striking out 13 over 12.1 innings, so the Mariners could have a tough time passing him through waivers.

Hill (1-3) took the loss Sunday in Toronto, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks while striking out one in five innings.

Hill allowed a two-out, two-run homer to Matt Chapman in the second and run-scoring doubles to Vladimir Guerrero and Bo Bichette in the fifth. He was able to induce two double-play groundballs to limit the damage. The 26-year-old made five starts for the Tigers in July despite bouncing back-and-forth between Detroit and Triple-A Toledo for roster reasons. Should he continue on the big-league roster, it's likely he will start again next weekend against Tampa Bay.

Swanson (2-0) recorded the win over the Astros on Saturday, allowing two hits and recording a strikeout over a scoreless eighth inning.

Swanson had to navigate around some trouble but was still sharp, pounding 12 of his 16 pitches in for strikes. The right-hander has been a bit more vulnerable than usual lately while allowing seven hits over the five innings covering his last six appearances, but he's still produced a 2-0 record and one hold over that span, albeit while also being charged with a blown save.

Jackson (2-3) took the loss against the White Sox on Saturday, allowing an earned run on a hit and a wild pitch over one-third of an inning.

The normally reliable Jackson was entrusted with preserving a 2-2 tie when he entered in the ninth inning, but he conceded a leadoff double to Gavin Sheets and eventually allowed the winning run to score on a wild pitch while facing Tim Anderson. The stumble was a rare one for the right-hander, who'd last given up an earned run June 23, a span of 14 appearances.

The Royals recalled Hernandez from Triple-A Omaha on Sunday.

Hernandez should be available as a long-relief option for Kansas City over the next few days, but if he isn't needed out of the bullpen, he could be a candidate to fill the opening in the rotation that was vacated by Jonathan Heasley, who was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move. The Royals will next require a fifth starter Thursday versus the Red Sox, and Hernandez would be a logical choice to pick up the spot start if rehabbing lefty Daniel Lynch (hand) isn't deemed ready to return from the 15-day injured list by that day.

Heasley's demotion comes after he was blitzed for six earned runs over 3.1 innings in his return from the 15-day injured list in Saturday's 8-2 loss to the Yankees. Though he'll be heading to the minors, Heasley shouldn't have to wait too long before re-entering the big-league rotation. The Royals will have doubleheaders on consecutive days in the second week of August and will need to temporarily implement a seven-man rotation, and Heasley is a prime candidate to step in as a spot starter.
