Hernandez picked up the save in Monday's 2-1 win over the Athletics. He threw a perfect inning with two strikeouts.

The 26-year-old has emerged as the top option for the Rangers in the ninth inning with Joe Barlow and Dennis Santana on the shelf and Brett Martin failing to get the job done. Hernandez has recorded four saves since July 31 and owns a healthy 2.45 ERA in 11 innings this season. Hernandez should continue to be the top option to close out games for Texas as long as the bullpen remains hampered, and perhaps beyond.

Curry allowed three runs on eight hits and a walk over five innings during a loss to the Tigers in Game 2 of Monday's doubleheader. He struck out three and did not factor in the decision.

Curry was promoted from Triple-A Columbus for a spot start and held his own in his MLB debut. He gave up just one run through four innings before he was tagged with two more in the fifth. The 24-year-old righty will likely head back to Columbus, where he's posted a 3.09 ERA and 1.09 WHIP through 32 innings.

Hendriks picked up the save Monday against the Astros. He allowed zero runs on one hit and one walk while striking out zero over one inning.

The Chicago closer allowed a walk and a hit to make things interesting in the ninth inning but emerged unscathed for his 26th save on the season. Hendriks has been hittable recently with a 5.40 ERA since July 23 coming into Monday, and he uncharacteristically did not record a strikeout for just the sixth time in 41 appearances this season. Despite the recent troubles, he still owns a 3.02 ERA and is 26-for-29 in save opportunities on the season.

Yarbrough (1-7) gave up three hits over four scoreless innings Monday, striking out six and earning a win over the Yankees.

After two scoreless frames from Jalen Beeks to start the game Yarbrough took the mound in the third and followed up with four shutout innings. Aside from a bases-loaded jam in the fourth inning, he didn't face much danger as he threw 42 of 58 pitches for strikes. Over his last four outings, Yarbrough has allowed five runs through 17.1 frames, lowering his season ERA from 5.61 to 4.75. He'll likely get a home matchup with the Royals this weekend.

Duran struck out two in a perfect inning Monday against the Royals to secure the hold.

The rookie reliever set down the Royals in order in the eighth inning to earn his fifth hold since the beginning of August and his 15th on the season. With a fastball that routinely hits triple digits and a curveball and changeup that he can call on at any time, Jhoan has been one of the most effective relievers this season. His 2.32 xFIP is good for second among all pitchers who have thrown at least 50 innings this season.

Soto allowed a run on two hits but was able to secure the save in Game 2 of Monday's doubleheader against the Guardians, a 7-5 Detroit win.

For the second straight outing and third time in his last four appearances, Soto allowed at least one run, but the lefty was still able to record his 21st save of the season in 23 chances. Soto has a 5.23 ERA over his last 10 games and he's seen his season ERA creep up to 3.24. He should stick in the closer role for Detroit moving forward, but he is showing some cracks in the armor and might be a volatile fantasy asset the rest of the year.

Lopez picked up the save in Monday's 4-2 win over the Royals. He allowed zero runs on two hits and zero walks while striking out one over one inning.

Lopez worked around a leadoff double in the ninth inning to convert his 21st save of the season. The scoreless effort was a welcome sight given that he had two blown saves in his previous four appearances. Despite looking shaky recently, Lopez's strong performance on the season is supported by his 90th percentile xSLG and 88th percentile xBA. He should continue recording saves for manager Rocco Baldelli's squad.

Clase earned a save in the first game of Monday's doubleheader against Detroit by pitching a perfect inning.

Clase made quick work of the final three batters, needing only eight pitches (seven strikes) to mow down the side in order. He continues to show why he's one of the best closers in the league, having surrendered just one run over his last 15 outings, which includes Monday's appearance.

Kelly (illness) is available out of the bullpen Monday against the Astros, Scot Gregor of the Chicago Daily Herald reports.

Kelly was removed from Thursday's game against the Royals due to lightheadedness and didn't pitch during the weekend series against the Tigers. He's posted a 2.25 ERA and 0.88 WHIP in eight innings over nine appearances since the All-Star break.

Pearson (lat) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Wednesday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Pearson increased his throwing distance last week and has now been cleared to throw off a mound for the first time since he sustained his lat injury in June. The right-hander will likely ramp up his intensity over the next few weeks and will presumably require a rehab assignment prior to rejoining the Blue Jays.
