Sewald struck out two in a perfect inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 3-0 win over the White Sox.

Sewald bounced back from taking a blown save Sunday by pitching his third perfect outing in his last six trips to the mound. The right-hander got through the inning on 16 pitches (11 strikes) against the bottom of the White Sox's order. He's now 18-for-22 in save chances with a 2.41 ERA, 0.71 WHIP and 64:15 K:BB through 56 innings this season.

Hearn (6-7) earned the win in Tuesday's 4-3 victory over the Astros. He allowed zero runs on two hits and zero walks while striking out two over two innings.

Hearn entered a tied ballgame in the fifth and threw two scoreless innings before the Rangers would score a run in the top of the seventh to put him in line for the win, his sixth on the season. Hearn now has a 2.84 ERA in 19 innings since being called up from Triple-A on Aug. 2 to fill a multi-inning relief role, a major improvement over the 5.50 ERA he had in 70.1 innings up to that point in the majors this season.

Leclerc picked up the save in a scoreless inning Tuesday against the Astros. He allowed one walk and did not allow a hit.

Leclerc allowed a walk to Jose Altuve but otherwise had little trouble setting down the Astros to notch his third save of the season. The Rangers appear to have a true closer-by-committee situation as Leclerc is now the fifth reliever to record at least three saves on the season. Leclerc owns a 3.03 ERA and 1.06 WHIP through 38.2 innings.

Otto did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing three runs on five hits and one walk over four innings against Houston. He struck out five.

Otto never really found his groove Tuesday, as he failed to record a clean inning and allowed runs to score in each of the second, third and fourth innings before being pulled from the game. The start was his first of fewer than five innings since July 12, a stretch in which he only recorded two wins despite a respectable 4.04 ERA. Otto will try to get back on track in his next start, which figures to be at Miami next week.

Chargois opened Tuesday against Boston, allowing two runs on two hits while striking out one in two innings in an 8-4 win. He did not factor into the decision.

Chargois was called upon to start after Drew Rasmussen was scratched and added to the paternity list Tuesday. After retiring the first five batters, he allowed a single and then a two-run homer to Triston Casas. It was his second time opening this season, with the other opportunity coming Aug. 26 in Boston. Since returning from an oblique injury Aug. 23, the 31-year-old has compiled a 3.24 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 6:3 K:BB in 8.1 innings.

Holmes earned a save against the Twins on Monday, striking out two batters in a perfect ninth inning.

Holmes needed only 11 pitches -- seven of which were strikes -- to set Minnesota down in order. The save was his second in as many days and his 19th overall this season. Since his Aug. 29 return from a stint on the injured list, Holmes has surrendered only one run while posting a 6:0 K:BB over four innings.

Cyr was recalled to the big leagues by the Athletics on Tuesday.

Cyr pitched just a third of an inning in relief this year for the Phillies on Aug. 21 before being waived the next day and claimed by Oakland. In Triple-A, he holds a solid 2.85 ERA and 1.37 WHIP. He will likely slide in as a depth piece for Oakland's bullpen.

Astros manager Dusty Baker said Tuesday that Pressly (neck), but the right-hander hasn't been shut down from baseball activities, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Pressly was previously expected to be activated from the injured list Tuesday, and Baker's comments suggest that the 33-year-old is essentially day-to-day with lingering neck discomfort. In the meantime, Rafael Montero should continue to work the ninth inning while Hector Neris handles the eighth.

Oller was placed on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with right rib costochondritis, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Oller has given up nine earned runs over his last three starts, and now things get worse for him as he finds himself on the injured list. He is eligible to return starting Sept. 21.

Barlow (blister) will throw off a mound Wednesday, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports.

Barlow could end up missing two months due to blister trouble, with one appearance sandwiched in between absences. Once he is able to return, he should work in a setup capacity.
