Franmil Reyes DH | WAS
Guardians' Franmil Reyes: Gets maintenance day
Reyes is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees.
Reyes will take a seat for only the second time this season, ending a streak of three consecutive starts in which he went 3-for-11 with his first two home runs of the campaign. With Reyes on the bench, Josh Naylor will serve as the Guardians' designated hitter.

J.D. Martinez DH | NYM
Red Sox's J.D. Martinez: Remains idle Sunday
Martinez (groin) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.
A sore left adductor will keep Martinez on the bench for the fourth game in a row, though the Red Sox haven't yet indicated that the issue is something that will result in him moving to the 10-day injured list. Ideally, fantasy managers will get more clarity on Martinez's situation before the Red Sox begin a seven-game week Monday in Toronto.

Ji-Man Choi 1B | NYM
Rays' Ji-Man Choi: Out against southpaw
Choi is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
With southpaw Rich Hill on the hill for Boston, the Rays will stock up some extra right-handed bats in the series finale. The lefty-hitting Choi will bow out of the lineup while the righty-hitting Harold Ramirez steps in as Tampa Bay's designated hitter.

Brad Miller DH | SD
Rangers' Brad Miller: Delivers win
Miller went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and two RBI in Saturday's 2-0 win over Oakland.
Miller delivered the game's only two runs in the eighth inning. One batter earlier, Athletics manager Mark Kotsay brought in right-handed reliever Domingo Acevdo, who had to pitch to Miller as part of a three-batter minimum. Otherwise, had a lefty hurler been on the mound, Rangers manager Chris Woodward would likely have pinch hit for Miller. He's scuffled since a hot start, going 4-for-25 over the previous nine games. When Miller starts, he gets maximum plate appearances as the leadoff hitter, but that may not continue considering his .256 on-base percentage and 5.4 BB%.

Michael Brantley LF | HOU
Astros' Michael Brantley: Tallies three hits
Brantley went 3-for-4 with a run scored Saturday against Toronto.
All three of Brantley's hits went for singles, and he came around to score in the first inning on an Alex Bregman home run. Brantley has remained consistent early this season, hitting .302/.351/.396 across 57 plate appearances. He's hit particularly well of late, delivering three multi-hit performances in his last six starts.

Eloy Jimenez DH | TOR
White Sox's Eloy Jimenez: Facing 6-to-8-week absence
The White Sox will place Jimenez on the 10-day injured list Sunday after he was diagnosed with a right hamstring strain that is expected to sideline him for 6-to-8 weeks, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
The team plans to provide another update on Jimenez's status following Monday's team off day once he's re-evaluated in Chicago, but the 25-year-old is set to miss extended time for the second time in as many seasons after a ruptured pectoral tendon kept him sidelined for about four months of the 2021 campaign. While the slugger is out of the lineup, both Andrew Vaughn and Gavin Sheets could have clear paths to near-everyday roles at either left field or designated hitter. The righty-hitting Adam Engel should also be a fixture in the lineup against right-handed pitching with Jimenez out of the picture.

Miguel Cabrera DH | DET
Tigers' Miguel Cabrera: Rests after getting 3,000th hit
Cabrera is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
One day after bagging the 3,000th hit of his career after going a collective 3-for-8 with two RBI and a run while starting in both ends of Saturday's doubleheader, Cabrera will get a well-deserved rest. Austin Meadows will receive a turn as the Tigers' designated hitter while Cabrera retreats to the bench.
-
Giancarlo Stanton DH | NYY
Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Out of Sunday's lineup
Stanton is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians.
Stanton started the past nine games and will receive a day off after going 7-for-38 with zero home runs and 16 strikeouts during that stretch. Josh Donaldson will serve as the designated hitter Sunday while DJ LeMahieu moves to the hot corner.
-
Alex Dickerson DH | ATL
Braves' Alex Dickerson: Clubs first homer of 2022
Dickerson went 1-for-3 with a walk, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Saturday's 9-7 loss to the Marlins.
His fourth-inning blast off Elieser Hernandez gave Atlanta a short-lived 4-2 lead in the wild contest. Dickerson hasn't seen much playing time or success to begin the season, as Saturday's homer was his first of the year and only his second hit in 25 at-bats.
-
Byron Buxton DH | MIN
Twins' Byron Buxton: Four hits in Saturday's rout
Buxton went 4-for-4 with a double, a home run, three runs scored and two RBI in Saturday's 9-2 win over the White Sox.
The center fielder led the way with another dynamic performance, including a fourth-inning solo shot that chased Vince Velasquez from the game. Buxton has already missed six games this season with a knee injury, but health could be the only thing standing between him and an MVP award -- he's slashing .344/.400/.844 with four doubles, four homers, six RBI and eight runs in nine contests.
