Pederson is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees.

As per usual, the left-handed-hitting Pederson will hit the bench while the Rangers match up with a southpaw starter (Max Fried) for the series opener. Andrew McCutchen will step in for Pederson as the Rangers' designated hitter and will bat fifth.

Stanton (calf) will not be placed on the 10-day injured list prior to Monday's game versus the Rangers, Greg Joyce of the New York Post reports.

Stanton has not played since exiting Friday's game against the Astros with right calf soreness and will remain out Monday. The Yankees recalled Jasson Dominguez from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Monday for some protection while Stanton recuperates, but the club hopes Stanton is able to play later this week. Fantasy managers would still be wise to play it safe and put Stanton on their bench if they have viable alternatives.

Garver went 0-for-1 in his lone plate appearance Sunday in the 3-2 win against the Cardinals.

Garver came in as a pinch-hitter in the ninth and struck out right after his teammate Rob Refsnyder hit the go-ahead home run. The 2019 Silver Slugger is operating as the primary backup catcher to Cal Raleigh, and has gotten most of his starts against left-handed pitching. The 35-year-old had a rough last two seasons for the Mariners but won the backup catcher job out of spring training, but will not see a ton of playing time due to Raleigh's superior defense behind the plate.

Manager Aaron Boone said Sunday that the Yankees will make a decision on Stanton, who is nursing right calf soreness, before Monday's game versus the Rangers, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Stanton made an early exit from Friday's game against Houston and hasn't played since. While the team hasn't yet announced whether the veteran slugger will need an IL stint, a clue may have been dropped with the news that outfielder Jasson Dominguez is set to be called up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Fantasy managers who roster Stanton should get a definitive answer on whether he'll be placed on the IL ahead of Monday's 6:05 PM ET contest in Texas.

Ohtani went 3-for-3 with a solo home run, a double, an additional run scored and a walk in Sunday's 6-0 win over the Cubs.

Ohtani reached base in all four of his plate appearances, highlighted by an opposite-field solo homer off Hoby Milner in the seventh inning. It marked the two-way superstar's first long ball since April 12 after he slashed just .182/.294/.250 over his previous 11 games. Ohtani's numbers at the plate may not be as eye-popping as in recent seasons, but he's still slashing .262/.391/.485 with six homers, 12 RBI, 19 runs and three stolen bases while also dominating on the mound with a 0.38 ERA and 0.75 WHIP along with a 2-0 record across 24 innings (four starts).

Buxton isn't in the Twins' starting lineup versus Tampa Bay on Sunday.

Buxton's absence from the lineup is his first since April 12. The veteran outfielder has hit well since that rest day, slashing .280/.321/.600 with five homers and six RBI over 11 games. James Outman is getting a start in center field with Buxton resting Sunday.

Stanton (calf) isn't starting Sunday against Houston.

This will be the second straight game on the shelf for Stanton after he was pulled from Friday's contest versus Houston due to right calf tightness. Manager Aaron Boone was ambiguous when discussing Stanton's injury Saturday, saying the issue is "not ideal" and adding, "But that doesn't mean great or terrible," per Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News. It isn't yet clear if a stint on the injured list is ahead for Stanton, who has been New York's primary DH this season. Ben Rice is getting a start in that slot Sunday.

The Athletics activated Rooker (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Sunday.

Rooker landed on the injured list April 10 and ended up missing just over two weeks of playing time. He had been struggling prior to going down, slashing just .146/.245/.293 with two homers, eight RBI and two stolen bases over his first 12 games. Rooker will look to convert his time off into a fresh start as he aims to hit the 30-homer mark for a third straight season.

Harper went 2-for-3 with a walk, two runs and four RBI in an 8-5 extra-inning win over Atlanta on Saturday.

Harper drove in four runs despite not notching any extra-base hits. He brought home a run on an infield single in the fifth frame, hit a sacrifice fly in the eighth and produced two more runs with a single in the 10th. This was just the third multi-RBI performance of the campaign for Harper, and it was his first multi-hit effort since April 17. Overall, the veteran slugger is slashing .270/.357/.520 with six home runs, 15 runs, 18 RBI and a stolen base through 27 contests.

Stanton (calf) isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Astros.

Tightness in Stanton's right calf caused him to make an early exit from Friday's contest, and the Yankees will give him a day off Saturday to recover. Amed Rosario will serve as New York's designated hitter and bat sixth.
