    Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper provided all the scoring in his team's 3-2 win over the Marlins Thursday, hitting a three-run homer in the first inning.

    It was one of three hits on four at-bats for Harper in the win. He owns a .285/.383/.509 line with 20 home runs, 55 RBI and 11 stolen bases in 393 at-bats.

    Justin Turner used as decoy Thursday

    Mets infielder Justin Turner was out of the starting lineup again Thursday as he continues to deal with a hamstring injury, but he ended the game in the on-deck circle as a potential pinch-hitter.

    However, manager Terry Collins revealed after the game that Turner was being used as a decoy to get the Giants to bring in a right-handed pitcher if the game had extended another batter, ESPN New York reports. Turner would have then been removed for another pinch-hitter.

    Turner did full baseball activities before Thursday's game, running at 75 to 80 percent by his own estimation, and could return to the lineup during the team's weekend series against the Phillies.

    Turner has been sidelined since Sept. 10 and remains hopeful of rejoining the team at some point this week. He is batting .273/.315/.380 with two homers and 15 RBI in 187 at-bats.

    Phillies first baseman Darin Ruf hit his 14th home run of the season Monday during a 12-2 win over the Miami Marlins. Ruf went deep for a two-run shot in the sixth inning for Philadelphia.

    The first baseman finished 2 for 4 in the game with three runs scored. He added a walk and is batting .254 on the season.

    Ruf has gone 4 for 7 in his last two games and has seen 26 RBI over 213 at-bats on the year. Still, he's also good for over a strikeout per game.

    Giants first baseman Brandon Belt had another impressive night at the dish as he recorded five hits and fell a triple shy of the cycle Saturday night against the Dodgers.

    Belt singled in a run in the first, singled in another in the third, unleashed a two-run home run in the seventh and doubled in two more runs in the eighth. He finished 5 for 6 with four runs scored and six RBI in a 19-3 victory. He owns a .289/.362/.483 slash line with 16 homers and 62 RBI in 464 at-bats.
