  • Rockies' Charlie Blackmon: On bench Thursday

Blackmon isn't starting Thursday's game against the Dodgers.

Blackmon had started each of the last three games, and he went 4-for-11 with three doubles, three runs and an RBI. Raimel Tapia, Garrett Hampson and Sam Hilliard will start in the outfield from left to right.

  • Brewers' Daniel Vogelbach: Still not starting

Vogelbach remains out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Cardinals.

Vogelbach has taken on a bench role recently and is out of the lineup for a fourth straight game. He's appeared as a pinch hitter in each of the last two contests and earned a walk in both plate appearances. Eduardo Escobar will shift to first base while Luis Urias starts at the hot corner Thursday.

  • Phillies' Andrew McCutchen: Homers in victory

McCutchen went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Wednesday's win over the Orioles.

The outfielder took reliever Eric Hanhold deep in the sixth inning, scoring Bryce Harper in the process. It was his 25th home run of the season, his highest number since 2017. The 35-year-old has now secured a hit in five of his last six contests, including five extra-base hits.

  • Brewers' Daniel Vogelbach: Remains on bench

Vogelbach isn't starting Wednesday against the Cardinals.

Vogelbach has lost out on playing time recently and will be out of the lineup for a third consecutive game. Jace Peterson will start at first base and bat seventh.

  • Brad Miller DH | SD

Phillies' Brad Miller: On bench against left-hander

Miller isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Orioles.

Miller has gone 0-for-6 with three strikeouts across his last three appearances, and he'll head to the bench with left-hander Keegan Akin on the mound for the Orioles. Matt Vierling will start at first base and bat eighth.

  • Jorge Soler DH | LAA

Braves' Jorge Soler: Crushes 24th homer

Soler went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a strikeout in a 6-1 triumph over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

Batting first, Soler took Arizona starter Luke Weaver deep to right in the fifth inning for his 24th home run of the season. The midseason acquisition has now hit safely in all but two games in September, slashing .274/.312/.493 across 18 contests this month.

  • Seth Beer DH | PIT

Diamondbacks' Seth Beer: Set for shoulder surgery

Beer will undergo surgery on his dislocated left shoulder Thursday, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

The 25-year-old remains without a specific timeline for his return, though manager Torey Lovullo said the timeline will be measured in "months not weeks." Beer went 4-for-10 with a home run, a double, three RBI and four runs in his first five big-league games before suffering the dislocated shoulder, and it's unclear if he'll be ready for the start of spring training in February.

  • Brewers' Daniel Vogelbach: Riding pine Tuesday

Vogelbach isn't starting Tuesday's game against St. Louis, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Even though right-hander Jake Woodford is on the mound for the Cardinals on Monday, Vogelbach will be on the bench for the third time in the last four games. Eduardo Escobar will shift to first base while Luis Urias starts at the hot corner.

  • Matt Carpenter DH | STL

Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: Comes through as pinch hitter

Carpenter entered Monday's win over the Brewers as a pinch hitter in the top of the seventh inning, lacing a double and subsequently scoring in his one plate appearance.

Carpenter made a pinch-hit appearance for the third straight game and sixth in the last seven overall. His two-bagger to lead off the seventh was his second double in the last three games, a rare taste of offensive success in a season that's seen the veteran produce an abysmal .175 average and .289 slugging percentage across 232 plate appearances.

  • Brewers' Daniel Vogelbach: On bench against lefty

Vogelbach isn't starting Monday's game against the Cardinals.

Vogelbach will be out of the lineup for the second time in the last three games with left-hander Jon Lester starting for St. Louis. Eduardo Escobar will shift to first base while Luis Urias starts at the hot corner.
