Jorge Soler DH | LAA
Marlins' Jorge Soler: Out Wednesday vs. Royals
Soler is not in the starting lineup against the Royals on Wednesday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Soler returned to the lineup Tuesday after missing Monday's game with thumb soreness. It's not yet known whether his absence against Kansas City on Wednesday is related to that particular injury. Bryan De La Cruz is the designated hitter with Soler out while Jon Berti lines up in left field.

J.D. Martinez DH | NYM
Dodgers' J.D. Martinez: Goes yard again Tuesday
Martinez went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two RBI in Tuesday's loss to the Reds.
Martinez kicked off the fourth with a solo homer to left and tacked on an additional RBI with a sacrifice fly. Dating back to May 15, the 35-year-old has notched at least one hit in 18 of 19 games and is slashing .321/.333/.769 with 10 homers, 25 RBI and 15 runs scored over that span. He sits at 15 home runs and 43 RBI through 45 games this season after having just 16 homers and 62 RBI in 139 games for Boston in 2022. It's unlikely he sustains his recent pace at the plate, but Martinez has certainly looked comfortable in his first year as a Dodger thus far.

Joc Pederson DH | TEX
Giants' Joc Pederson: Solid in return
Pederson went 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored in Tuesday's 10-4 win over the Rockies.
Pederson missed over three weeks with a hand injury. With the Giants taking control of the game early, he ceded his spot in the lineup to pinch hitter Wilmer Flores in the seventh inning. Pederson should be in the lineup as a strong-side platoon option at designated hitter going forward, but he's unlikely to play much versus southpaws. In that role, he's posted a .241/.366/.494 slash line with five home runs, 18 RBI, 13 runs scored, four doubles and a triple through 27 contests.

Joc Pederson DH | TEX
Giants' Joc Pederson: Activated from IL
Pederson (hand) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Danny Emerman of KNBR 680 San Francisco reports.
Pederson will join the Giants in Colorado ahead of their three-game series with the Rockies, returning to the big leagues for the first time since he was placed on the 10-day IL on May 15. The lefty bat has compiled a .235 average with five homers, 18 RBI and 12 runs scored over 81 at-bats in 26 games with San Francisco this year and could return to a strong-side platoon at designated hitter. Pederson has logged just seven at-bats against left-handers so far in 2023, producing just one hit.

Mark Vientos DH | NYM
Mets' Mark Vientos: On bench Tuesday
Vientos is absent from the lineup Tuesday versus Atlanta.
Daniel Vogelbach will serve as the Mets' designated hitter and bat fifth with right-hander Bryce Elder on the bump for the current NL East leaders. Brett Baty is playing third base and batting seventh. Vientos carried a lot of hype when he first got the call to the bigs in mid-May, but he's slashing just .188/.206/.281 through his first 34 major-league plate appearances.

Jorge Soler DH | LAA
Marlins' Jorge Soler: Back in lineup
Soler (thumb) will serve as Miami's designated hitter and bat second Tuesday against the Royals, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
A sore thumb kept Soler out of Monday's contest, but one game will be all the 31-year-old slugger misses. Soler is in a bit of a slump at the plate lately, slashing just .158/.304/.211 over the past seven days.

Nick Solak 1B | PIT
Braves' Nick Solak: Designated for assignment
Solak was designated for assignment by Atlanta on Tuesday.
Solak drew only one major-league plate appearance during his seven-week stay on the 40-man roster. The 28-year-old has slashed .246/.317/.354 in 221 big-league games since the beginning of the 2020 season and could now be moving on to what would be his fifth different organization this year.
