Choi went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in a loss to the Yankees on Friday.

Choi's 427-foot shot to center in the fifth snapped a 2-2 tie and gave the Rays a one-run lead that they'd ultimately fail to protect. The 27-year-old has two of his three homers on the season within the last seven games, but he's gotten May off to a rough start otherwise. Even factoring in Friday's production, Choi is 4-for-28 (.143) over the first eight games of the month.

Soler went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and two walks in a 5-1 victory against the Phillies on Friday.

The 27-year-old has been feast or famine early this season. While he does have 10 home runs, which is already his most in three years and only two shy of his previous career high, Soler also leads the league with 53 strikeouts. His two free passes Friday are very rare for the free-swinging Soler, and as a result, he only has a .315 on-base percentage. However, behind the homers, he does own a .531 slugging percentage. He is also hitting .259 with 25 RBI and 20 runs in 147 at-bats.

Jimenez (ankle) ran the bases Friday and is expected to do so again either Saturday or Sunday before starting a rehab assignment, Madeline Kenney of the Chicago Sun Times reports.

Jimenez hasn't been able to run much since spraining his ankle April 26 against Detroit, so this was a big step forward for the young outfielder. Assuming he's able to run bases once more over the weekend, he'll head to a minor-league affiliate for what should be a brief rehab stint, putting him on track to return later next week.

Vogelbach is out of the lineup for Friday's game at Boston, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Vogelbach will once again head to the bench against a left-hander as Eduardo Rodriguez takes the mound for the Red Sox. Edwin Encarnacion will serve as the designated hitter while Jay Bruce receives the start at first base Friday.

Jimenez (ankle) will join the White Sox in Toronto this weekend to continue his rehab program, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

Rather than reporting to a minor-league affiliate for a rehab assignment, Jimenez will continue to work out on the field prior to the White Sox's games against the Blue Jays from Friday through Sunday. Once the White Sox return to Chicago on Monday, the team plans to map out a rehab schedule for the outfielder, who is bouncing back from a high right ankle sprain. The White Sox have been pleased with the progress Jimenez has made up to this point, though the rookie has yet to test out his ankle by running the bases.

Brantley is not in the lineup Thursday against the Rangers, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Brantley will head to the bench for what appears to be a regular day off against left-hander Mike Minor following a string of six straight starts. The veteran outfielder has been on a tear over his last 15 games, slashing .387/.415/.758 with six homers and 13 RBI over that stretch. In his absence, Josh Reddick and George Springer are starting in the corner outfield spots, with Jake Marisnick getting the nod in center.

Canha (wrist) will begin a minor-league rehab stint with Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Canha took batting practice with no issues Wednesday and Thursday, clearing the way for his return to game action. The veteran outfielder will likely play in a handful of rehab games before hopefully rejoining the Athletics on their upcoming nine-game road trip, which begins Monday in Seattle.

Brantley went 2-for-3 with two home runs, one walk and three RBI in a 9-0 win over the Royals on Wednesday.

Brantley took Jorge Lopez deep for a two-run shot in the third inning and hit another solo home run in the fourth inning. He has been on an absolute tear this season with a .340/.386/.603 slash line through 36 games.

Stanton (shoulder) remains limited to soft toss and tee work, Kristie Ackert of the New York Daily News reports.

Stanton could be cleared to hit off a machine soon if he experiences no setbacks in the coming days. The veteran slugger is taking baby steps in his recovery from a shoulder injury that he suffered while rehabbing a biceps strain. An updated timetable for Stanton's return likely won't emerge until he's further along in his rehab.
