Yordan Alvarez DH | HOU
Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Totals four RBI in win
Alvarez went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer, a double, four RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 12-3 win over the Mariners.
Alvarez notched his first RBI early on with a groundout in the opening frame. He did the rest of his damage his next two times up with a two-run shot in the third and an RBI double in the fourth. It was the big lefty's first home run since Aug. 7. He's now slashing .289/.352/.529 with 23 homers, 81 RBI, 71 runs scored, a steal and 33:107 BB:K over 438 plate appearances after Friday's standout effort.

Byron Buxton DH | MIN
Twins' Byron Buxton: Hitless in first rehab game
Buxton (finger) played five innings Friday in center field and went 0-for-2 with a strikeout for Triple-A St. Paul in the first game of a rehabilitation assignment. He will play again possibly Saturday and Sunday depending on how he feels, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
It's not clear how long Buxton will be at Triple-A before he's activated from the injured list. He'll likely play two or three games before the Twins decide on a next course of action, but it's possible he could be activated early next week.

Brent Rooker DH | ATH
Twins' Brent Rooker: Not starting again Friday
Rooker is not in the lineup Friday against the Yankees, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Rooker finds himself on the bench for the second straight contest after starting 23 of the previous 24 games. Rob Refsnyder will work in left field in his absence Friday.

Nick Solak 1B | PIT
Rangers' Nick Solak: Recalled by Rangers
Solak was called up from Triple-A Round Rock on Friday.
Solak was demoted in late July after hitting a disappointing .225/.295/.353 in 92 games. He's shown hints of power, speed and contact at times in his career, but he's now hit a modest .250/.322/.375 in 183 career games while homering 16 times and stealing 13 bases, a package that doesn't look very exciting outside of deep leagues. The Rangers are evidently happy with what he showed in roughly a month of Triple-A action and have plenty of at-bats to offer him down the stretch, but his recent track record indicates he may not do all that much with the opportunity.

Ji-Man Choi 1B | NYM
Rays' Ji-Man Choi: Knocks in two in win
Choi went 1-for-4 with two RBI in a win over the Orioles on Thursday.
Choi is working on a modest three-game hitting streak and has reached base safely in five of his last six games overall. The 30-year-old has rewarded fantasy managers with frequent appearances on the basepaths this season, as a career-high 14.3 percent walk rate has helped lead to a .361 OBP that's just shy of his high-water mark of .363 in that category.

Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD
Angels' Shohei Ohtani: On base four times Thursday
Ohtani went 2-for-3 with two walks, two runs and an RBI in Thursday's win over the Tigers.
Ohtani was one of three Angels to reach base at least four times in the team's wild comeback win. He scored a run in each of the sixth and seventh frames before producing a run on a sacrifice fly in the eighth. The two-way star's 88 RBI trails only Jose Abreu and Rafael Devers for most in MLB as he pushes toward consideration for American League MVP.

Eloy Jimenez DH | TOR
White Sox's Eloy Jimenez: Extends hit streak
Jimenez went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Thursday's 5-4 loss to Oakland.
Jimenez immediately extended a hit streak to eight games with a run-producing double in the first inning. The slugger has hit safely in 13 of the last 14 contests, going 21-for-54 (.389) with five home runs, six doubles, 19 RBI and nine runs scored.

Giancarlo Stanton DH | NYY
Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Homers in win Thursday
Stanton went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 7-5 win over the Twins.
Stanton homered in the eighth inning off Andrew Albers to extend the Yankees' lead to three runs. It is his second home run in three games and he is riding a current nine-game hitting streak. In the month of August, he is batting .306 with 12 RBI and 10 runs. The 31-year-old is slashing .263/.362/.463 with 20 long balls, 59 RBI and 45 runs scored in 423 plate appearances this season.
-
Miguel Cabrera DH | DET
Tigers' Miguel Cabrera: Drives in four Thursday
Cabrera went 2-for-5 with a double and four RBI in Thursday's loss to the Angels.
Cabrera is still seeking career home run No. 500, though he did tally the 591st double of his storied career. The 19-year veteran should record the milestone long ball at some point yet this year, and the Tigers will surely keep putting him in the lineup until he's able to do so. Cabrera may see a few more rest days once he hits that elusive home run, allowing the team to take a longer look at some younger players heading into 2022.

Brent Rooker DH | ATH
Twins' Brent Rooker: Not in Thursday's lineup
Rooker isn't starting Thursday against the Yankees.
Rooker had started 20 consecutive games after he was recalled in late July, but he'll now retreat to the bench for the second time in the last five contests. Jake Cave will shift to left field while Nick Gordon draws the start in center field.
